  1. I contacted the club maybe 10 years ago and asked if I could buy a few shares. Think it cost me £100, although I can't remember how many shares this was for. Kmcalpin is the man to speak to about this.
  2. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/spfl/friday-night-frights-for-skip-las-152503n.23467115 Friday night frights for skip Las KEITH LASLEY has not given up hope of leading Motherwell out at Tannadice on Friday night. Bert MitchellSports WriterTuesday 18/02/20140 CommentsSharePrintLasley has undergone physio in the last few days on knee problemThe Fir Park skip suffered a knee injury after just 10 minutes of Motherwell's 4-3 SPFL Premiership win over Partick Thistle. Despite managing to battle on gamely for the remainder of the match, Lasley has been the subject of physiotherapy after suffering a reaction to his medial knee ligament. The Well captain is likely to sit out training for the rest of the week as Well's medical team try to rehabilitate him for the trip to face Dundee United, but Las admits it will be touch and go. He said: "It was one of those ones where I went into a 50/50 with Kallum Higginbotham with my foot planted and I felt the impact go right up into the knee. "Fortunately, the medical attention I got at the time got me up and going and I guess the sheer adrenalin of what was a tremendous game of football carried me through. "But towards the end of the game I was really beginning to feel it and afterwards it was a case of playing it very safe. "But we have excellent physios here with John Porteous and Adam Stokes and, with a bit more attention yesterday, we seem to have things under control. "Usually within 48 hours you know if things are not too good, so it is looking pretty hopeful. But when it comes to Friday, who knows?" Looking back on what is a frontrunner for game of the season, Lasley admits the Jags can consider themselves unlucky not to have taken a share of the spoils from Fir Park. The Well skipper said: "To be fair to Partick, they were very unlucky not to have got a draw. "It can't be too often that you go away from home, score three goals and leave empty-handed. "They played a lot of good football and I thought Higgy (Kallum Higginbotham) was outstanding. "From our point of view, we can be happy with scoring four, but we obviously need to tighten things up at the back for Friday up at Tannadice." Saturday's victory over Thistle keeps Well just one point behind second-placed Aberdeen. But with Dundee United having strung together a three-game unbeaten run, and hammered Well 4-0 the last time the two sides met, Lasley is wary of the Arabs' threat. He said: "United look to have got back on the horse and are starting to return to the kind of form they were in when we last played them in November. "Obviously they were involved in a bit of a thriller themselves last time out by edging out Killie 3-2, so they will be buoyed by that. "But Tannadice is a ground we have done pretty well at over the last couple of seasons and we drew 2-2 in our first game with United up there earlier in the campaign. "So we can take some confidence from that. I just hope I will be available for selection come Friday night."
  3. Yip, I'd take a point right now. It's really a must-win game for United if they have ambitions of qualifying for Europe via the league. A draw would obviously keep them 9 behind us, plus we'd have a game in hand and would have played Celtic, Aberdeen and Utd in this round of fixtures. Fingers crossed either Kerr or Ramsden are back, and we can get Hammell back to the left. Higginbotham destroyed him at times on Saturday. 1-1, Sutton for us.
  4. Motherwell: Nielsen, Hammell, Hutchinson, McManus, McFadden, Sutton, Vigurs, Lasley ©, Francis-Angol, Carswell, Ainsworth. Subs: Stewart, Lawson, Anier, Murray, Leitch, Shirkie, Thomas
  5. From MFC Twitter... Referee is coming in at 1pm. There has been a monumental effort from Grounstaff and volunteers. We're confident game will go ahead...
  6. At mini steelkids with the boy. Pitch not looking good. Already heavily sanded around south stand goalmouth and corner flag. No covers down. If rain keeps up I'd say it's touch and go.
  7. Agree with Arnier + Faddy or Sutton. Hopefully Hollis is back for this one (didn't expect to be saying that earlier in the season). Thistle seem to play a more open game than most teams, which will suit us down to the ground. 3-1 Motherwell
  8. You should have been annoyed at the Society for not making this clear. I'm in exactly the same position and feel as if I've wasted £50.

  10. Three more that spring to mind: Aberdeen away in the cup in 1991. My first ever visit to Pittodrie, and a big away support that didn't stop singing for the entire 90 mins. The Dons were the holders and were a top side back then, and went on to almost win the league that season (before bottling it at Ibrox on the final day). No-one (including myself) gave us a hope. I can still remember the place going absolutely mental when Stevie Kirk scored, probably the best goal celebration I've ever experienced. On the long journey home I definitely had a feeling that this was going to be our year. The midweek game at Ibrox in 1993 (I think), which was the only time I've seen us win there. We went a goal down in the first half, but hit back courtesy of a Dougie double. My most vivid memory of this game is of the fans who invaded the pitch and danced around Colin Scott's goal following the winner. Sadly I missed the Owen Coyle game where we stopped them winning 9-in-a-row, which must be right up there when it comes to great away days. The Fergus McCann game at Parkhead in 1994. Celtic's crowds had been around the 15,000 mark, but they all came out the woodwork for the first game of the new regime. It was supposed to be a celebration, the culmination of a long campaign to sack the old board with McCann heralded as the saviour of Celtic. Instead, Dougie quickly shut the hordes up with an early goal, and with big Sieb outstanding at the other end we held on for a famous victory.
  11. I remember it well. It was in the Scottish Cup, the season before we won it. That was the period when Hearts were at their most detestable. Henry Smith, Walter Kidd, Craig Levein, Dave McPherson, Gary MacKay, John Robertson et all. We had a huge support that day too. I'm sure I can remember the guys behind the GLF fanzine distributing red cards for the 'Well fans to wave at Walter Kidd. Horrible day.
  12. Just received my financial statement for the year ended 31 May 2013. The club recorded a loss of £184,498, which has been attributed to the following factors: 1 - Approx £900k of prize money for finishing 2nd was distributed evenly between the SPL clubs, mainly to compensate clubs for the loss of Rangers gate income. We also had a "generous" bonus scheme for players and management for finishing 2nd. 2 - Exiting both cups in the first round. The club are reviewing their policy of allowing season ticket holders free entry into the first home cup tie each season. 3 - Lower than expected transfer income. The club are doing "everything we believe to be possible" to achieve value for players leaving the club. Other points: - Budgeting for 2013/14 has been difficult due to uncertainties surrounding distributions from the new SPFL setup. MFC are "particularly disappointed" that the SPFL haven't found a sponsor. - The club do not budget for the "worst case scenario" as this would see our player budget reduced by over 40%. Instead, the club make "conservative but realistic assumptions" on our income streams. - It was again emphasised that success of the Well Society is "critical" to the long term sustainability of the club. At present, the society has 1195 members, which is approx 22% of our core season ticket base.
  13. I'm currently ar mini steelkids with my son and there are indeed covers over the problematic areas of the pitch. Mainly the area in front of the East towards the South Stand end. Absolutely chucking it down at the moment so fingers crossed...
  14. Motherwell: Nielsen, Hammell, Hutchinson, McManus, McFadden, Sutton, Vigurs, Lasley, Francis-Angol, Carswell, Ainsworth. Motherwell subs: Stewart, Lawson, Kerr, Moore, Murray, Anier, Leitch.
  15. Ramsden out for "several weeks" http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2014/01/16/injury-setback-for-ramsden/
  16. Was that the guy whose first touch in a 'Well jersey was to score an o.g. against Hamilton Accies?
