  1. I don't even know how many times we've played Aberdeen in the cup at Fir Park since 1958 and I bet you Henrik Ojamaa and co don't either. All they will know is we got KO'd by them last year and they'll want to avenge it.
  2. But then Jamie Langfield has never won a penalty shoot out so something has to give.
  3. Randolph will score the winner in the shoot out
  4. Well I have to say I loved that game and thumbs up to County who came and tried to play football. I sit in the Cooper and the 2 saves from both Brown and Hollis, in the words of Paul Merson, were worldys. It's good too see Humphrey on form and Higdon's vision for a 40 yard pass in the first half was absolute sublime. Hateley almost cost us at the end when he conceded the corner, I have no idea what he was playing at but thank god for Hollis. Anyway I'm chuffed with 3 points in what was a fantastic game of football. We have been on a decent run of form in the league now and let's hope we can take it in to the Cup on Wednesday night. Mon the Well, it's up and up for us.
  5. I thought Michael Higdon was his superb, his vision to pick out Humphrey with a long ball in the first half was superb and his goal was a great centre forward's goal. A special mention for Humphrey who was superb again and Lee Hollis' save was absolute top drawer (mind you so was Mark Brown's). By the way the sponsors must have been watching a completely different game from me . Anyway I'm bloody delighted.
  6. I think the people willing to join to begin with (and who had the cash) have joined. I think there will be a few people out there who will be waiting to see how it is run and whether it carries any influence. That's where I think the club are missing a trick here with regards to the whole reconstruction debate. I think if the people who are swaying in their minds whether to join or not saw that the views of the Well Society shaped board decisions then they may be inclined to get involved. I think a member vote on the SPL proposals would be great PR for the Well Society but I'm not holding my breath and I think that's a great shame.
  7. Nah I think we'll get beat, we always struggle to beat teams beginning with R.
  8. I think he may be getting at the person(s) who said McCall should GTF if he goes.
  9. I actually don't think the club give 2 shiny shites about the Well Society. Well they do for the money the fans are pouring in but not the bollocks about ".....doing things in the spirit of the model we are trying to create." All that is a load of shite and I'm starting to get a bit sceptical that the club only done this because they were almost certain that the Rangers vote was almost certainly heading the way it went. I will reiterate that this may be a bit of a sceptical view but it's the way I feel at this moment in time. I was a supporter of the Well Society and defended it to sceptical friends and persuaded them to join. I am getting more and more disillusioned with the whole thing as the weeks and months go by. I have to say that I don't expect a vote in every single issue but this one is of fundamental importance to the future of the Scottish game. The leadership (including our board) in our game is abysmal and they spend most of their time pandering to the TV companies whilst ignoring the fans who are the lifeblood of the game. It's almost as if they're saying "who cares if the stadiums are empty, as long as we have a couple of cameramen and a commentator that's all that matters." Our club (as well as the rest) are making clear that the Rupert Murdoch pound is more important than the pound of of the guy/girl who slaves away at work all week and spends their hard earned cash on supporting a team that couldn't give a monkeys what his views are. This whole idea of splitting the league in to 3 leagues of 8 is fucking bonkers. Why don't you just have a 24 team league and do that? It's not anymore bonkers is it? Or why don't we go the whole hog and have an NFL system and have a big Grand Finale at the end? Who the hell is coming up with these ideas? My 4 year old nephew could come up with better than this. Now I'm normally an optimist and I love football and love going and normally I look on the bright side but at the moment I don't actually see one. I didn't think I would ever say just stick with what we have got now but that is the way it's going. By the way that's probably the SPL's game, punt all these bonkers proposals so that the status quo looks like a great option. I am just hoping that the SFL stay united and kick this horrible idea in to the long grass.
  10. Why let the facts and common sense get in the way of an argument Melvin? McCall must go because of this rumour. Now if you'll excuse me I'm away to jump off a bridge........
  11. That's pretty damn obvious because we haven't won a cup since 1991 so you can say we've struggled against every team at some point since then. But then you can say that against Aberdeen because they haven't won a cup since 1996. We have knocked St Johnstone, Dundee and Dundee United out the cup in recent years with relative ease. Yes you do say it on here because you have predicted victories for the opposition. I know you predicted Morton and Dundee would beat us and although I can't remember you probably predicted victories for St Johnstone and Dundee United when we scudded them.
  12. That's my point you didn't use any stats just the feable ones like "we always struggle against SPL sides in the cup" and that "Aberdeen are a formidable side on their day". Well recent history shows that we are more formidable. Anyway it's good to see you sidestepped my question. You'd make a good Prime Minister one day. Anyway I will ask again. So which is it then, do we struggle to get through Premier League opposition or is it Lower League opposition? We must have beat somebody in the cup in recent years.
  13. Plus if you're getting knocked out in the latter part of a competition it wil be more likely that a SPL team will knock you out.
  14. I don't mind that you're just pessimistic but you're using piss poor stats to back it up when most of the stats actually back up a Motherwell win. You're clutching at straws to justify yourself. You've no need by the way, just say "I have a feeling (again) that we will get pumped." In the Morton thread last season you predicted a Motherwell defeat because we always do poorly against lower league opposition and we pumped them. Do you actually know we got to a final and a semi final 2 seasons ago? We have also been in a few quarter finals. So which is it then, do we struggle to get through Premier League oppisition or is it Lower League opposition? We must have beat somebody in the cup in recent years.
  15. Did Lomas not already receive a suspended ban? I think that's why it's so harsh.
  16. I would argue that WE are a formidable side on our day, and we have a cracking record up their. In fact the last manager to record a win against Motherwell celebrated it with a 10 minute fake tan. Add that to our away record this season and our improved form I am going to predict a Motherwell win. I suppose you forgot about the POSITIVE stats that point to a Motherwell win? See your opening sentence by the way? You say that about lower league opposition too. Have we ever won a cup game?
  17. Are we really going to take 1500-2000? I'd be surprised.
  18. I have to agree with this, the goal was a peach but I Ojamma's contribution to the goal was superb.
  19. I'm quite enjoying this SPL season. What other league in the world is a 6 horse race?
  20. Ooft, that one totally passed me by, this is news to me, I should really have studied the picture better .
  21. If that's Chievo i think it was 1-1 . 2005 seems a bit late though so have I got the wrong game?
