  1. The way the league is going with everyone cutting each others throats I would say we need two more wins in the five before the split to get in to the top 6. Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and Dundee United only have 4 games to catch up with us. Saturday's game is massive, if we win that then we are very close to securing the all important top six berth. Then we can concentrate on getting second place.
  2. Pass marks for everyone but Nicky Law was head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch.
  3. Get it right up me! Negative bastard I am. Get it right up you. Drop a finisher like that aye right.
  4. I think you're being a wee bit harsh. Recently meaning the last few games I will give you but we are still the team with to have won more points from losing positions this season. Having said that I still think we need to score first tonight to win the game .
  5. First of all I don't think we would go for anyone who was currently in a job. We couldn't afford a compensation fee. Anyone know who the last manager who we brought in from another club? Do you know what? I haven't a clue, sometimes you're better the devil you know and all that. The Jimmy Calderwoods of this world give me the fear. I'm trying to think of a Scottish manager who worked in the lower rungs of the English leagues who is currently out of work and looking for a chance to prove himself. It's worked well in the past eh? Derek McInnes would be favourite. Anyway, I hope McCall signs his 3 year deal. EDIT: PLEASE NO CRAIG LEVEIN, EEEEVVVVVEEEERRRR!!!!!!!
  6. I'd give him another contract. Mind you I still think we'll finish second. All teams go through bad duns and this is us hitting our second dodgy spell and hopefully the last. If we didn't renew his contract who would you go for Finlay?
  7. We got a point at Ibrox last season but it was certainly our last win.
  8. Higdon has scored in every 1.5 games and scored almost 40% of our goals this season. You tend to get very few chances against Celtic and we need to be taking any that come our way. To drop our main goal threat would be utter madness in my eyes. Higdon might not be the best player but I would trust him more than anyone in our team to take any chances that come our way and that includes Faddy. I would like to see McFadden start too but it would be choice between Humphrey and Ojamaa for me. I really like Ojamaa's workrate and he causes defenses alot of hassle plus he has the ability to create something out of nothing, therefore I would swap McFadden for Humphrey. Ojamaa has a tendency to tire during games due to his workrate so you could always bring on Humphrey for Ojamaa and switch McFadden to play up with Higdon. Having said that it would be more than likely McFadden coming off first. We have options but as I said above we might get few chances in this game so wee need our main goal threat so Higdon as sub isn't even an option for me.
  9. Drop our top scorer? Good yin.
  10. Not at all confident for this game and I think it will be a 3-0 or 4-0 defeat. Please prove me wrong Motherwell.
  11. This proposal gets a whole lot worse. Was this mentioned at the Well trust meeting?
  12. This is the most hyped up I've been for a league game in ages and I'm missing it due to work . As for the game, I think Dundee United are pretty overrated. There is no doubting the quality of their forwards but they are 9th in the league, 7 points behind us and have the worst defensive record in the league. They beat very poor Rangers and Hearts teams and suddenly United are world beaters in the eyes of the media. If we play as we did on Saturday we will beat them comfortably. I'm going for 3-1 Motherwell with Ojamaa (the lad deserves a goal) Higdon and McFadden (he just has to score) getting the goals. Russell will score in between our 2nd and 3rd goals.
  13. We've only played them twice and the gap is 18 points.
  14. I was delighted with ICT today, they didn't disappoint me one bit. I hope Dundee United delight me just as much on Tuesday too.
  15. We are now allowed to keep Inverness Caley Thistle for our mantlepiece. MJC take note, Motherwell 4 Inverness 1 , Inverness 1 Motherwell 5 and Motherwell 3 Inverness 0. Aggregate score Motherwell 12 Inverness 2 . INVERNESS JUST DON'T BEAT MOTHERWELL .
  16. What about our record against them, it's pretty decent or is it only records that are against us that matter . 6-2 Motherwell with another Higdon hat-trick. Easy meat.
  17. A lot of teams are quite close to each other but they all have to play each other so it will be difficult for them all to catch up with us and ICT so I think we are pretty much there. How it will go after the split I have no idea. We really need a win on Saturday.
  18. Aye but you're talking about fans that already attend the games my point was about persuading new fans to attend away games. . The point I was respoding to was someone saying that they should maybe reduce the prices for away fans to 70% of the home PATG price. I don't believe home fans will stand for that. I believe there are a good number of people out there (from all clubs) who would go to more away games but simply can't afford it. If you go to Aberdeen or Inverness you're paying at least 35-40 quid before you've even had a bite to eat and that's for one adult person and it will be even more for families. If you told them that there is a free bus, perhaps even £5 per adult and £10 for a family of 4, then it may persuade people to go. See if it could add 200 to every away gate then it would be worthwhile. I know it won't work for every club (Ross County earlier this season is a prime example) but there is nothing really to lose by giving it a bash.
  19. A pretty good post, however I think the bit highlighted would be a bit of a non starter for obvious reasons. I do think that they could and will look at subsidising supporters buses.
  20. Ojamaa to have a stinker get subbed after 20 minutes and come out all guns blazing on Saturday with a point to prove scoring a hat-trick in the process.
  21. I am 100% a Motherwell fan but that doesn't mean I'm going to spend hunreds of pounds of my hard earned cash if the club and the governing bodies fail to listen to the fans. To me supporting my team through thick and thin means what happens on the pitch to me. Win lose or draw I will support Motherwell. However, if I get the feeling that we are constantly being ignored I will stop spending as much money. Simples.
  22. As a loyal and dedicated Motherwell fan who didn't turn up due to work I see no way that zeroing points half way through a season will be beneficial to Motherwell. It is for that reason I will not support this proposal. It is a totally bonkers idea, however I hope that I can attend the next open meeting and put my points across. I would like to pick you up on the doom monger comment too because is that not exactly what the boards of the SPL (our club played it's part in that), SFL and SFA are guilty of? The same people who predicted a doomsday scenario if Rangers weren't accepted in to the top flight and then SFL 1? So why are we so quick to trust them now? Edit : I'd like to thank all those who have summed up the meeting on these boards.
