  1. I've heard from a direct member of the family and they have not a bad word to say about McGhee. Someone said it should be obvious for a manager how to handle a situation like that but like Burrows says, there is no manual and i for one will always remember how well Mark McGhee conducted himself and represented my club in such difficult times.

    Mark McGhee

I'm pretty sure Wednesday is the normal day off for the players and couple that with the fact the guy has to get home, see family and gather some things I really don't see what the problem is with the whole team regrouping today and tomorrow and concentrating fully towards Saturday. Plus I'm sure he will have managed to watch some of our games yesterday on DVD which can only help
  3. Mixu with Shiels the assistant. That's my bet.
  4. Further to the open interview conducted on Sportsound, see the following link to another interview with Kenny Sheils where he plugs himself more for the job. Go to minute 35 onwards for the Motherwell chat. He says he would join Mixu as assistant if he was asked. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/burst-baw-scottish-football/id1003803003?mt=2&i=354338751
  5. Adam Cummins booked in a 3-1 win for Bangor tonight.
  6. 352 is giving me the fear. Ainsworth and Johnson are probably the least suited wingers to play wingback I can think of
  7. If you're cautious take us on the draw no bet market and double it with a home Hibs win against woeful St Mirren and you'll be fine.
  8. I would love it for Craigan to be manager and be a success purely for sentimental reasons. However, I also thought some of the things he said today were a bit worrying like we are doing not too bad and that we just need a bit more effort and that the shape is fine. It's only an interview but if he sticks McDonald in midfield because the shape is "good" then I give up.
  9. Yes it's on the MFC YouTube channel
  10. To be fair to him, his appearance on Sportsound last night was already booked well before we lost to Morton. It was inevitable because he was on the previous shortlist that he would get asked about it vacant position.
  11. I think Shiels is a Marmite type of manager. I happen to quite like the guy. He was on the final 4 shortlist when we last looked for a manager and couple that with the relationships he probably already has with his fellow Northern Irishmen then he can't be written off.
  12. Depends if the "broken" camera has been fixed....
  13. Currently 11/8 to win on Saturday with Coral. No doubt the players will have a new lease of life and get tore into them. I'm sure that price will shorten by kick off on Saturday. Also, be interesting to see how involved Cadden will be now that Craigan is interim boss
  14. I would go with the 11 that finished the game last night. Play McDonald further up top with Moult. I thought some of their link up play when they came on last night looked quite promising. Although that wouldn't be hard considering the dross served up for the majority of the match. It is about time we started feeding the ball to McDonald when he is much closer to goal. He was always renowned for his low centre of gravity, turning players and making a nuisance of himself inside the box. Link this with Moults movement and finishing and I think we'd have a chance. Get Johnson and Ainsworth on the wings and use Grimshaw and Lasley in the middle. These are the only 2 centre midfielders that have shown enough so far this season. Big Kennedy should be a stick on to start and the other 3 should be Hammell (if fit), McManus and Law. I would stick with Ripley in goal.
  15. Austin played well but he, like any other opposition player will never get a standing ovation or even a warm round of applause from me. And that includes Messi if he turns out for Barca at Fir Park in CL and skins 11 players and finishes with an overhead kick.
  16. With regards the second goal, let's face it, that was a howler from Ripley. Yes, Hammell allowed the shot to come in too easily but Ripley's attempt at a save was hopeless in my opinion. Surprised at how soft he seems to have got off with this. Don't get me wrong, he was superb against United but any pro keeper should be saving those. We were piss poor overall but if both McDonald and Ripley didn't embarrass themselves with poor individual errors then we could've got away with a point. Granted, it's easy to say that with hindsight.
  17. For as long as Locke is in charge at Kilmarnock, I'd be shocked to see them any higher than bottom 3.
  18. Faddy is long past his best. That is obvious. I thought he was absolutely bowfin for the most part when he was with us last and I'm sure Saints fans have the same opinion. All the evidence points towards him being a poor quality, lazy signing. However, I am not ashamed at all to admit I would love him back at Fir Park in any capacity. Faddy at any other club than ours just doesn't sit well with me.
  19. Moshni's ban carries forward to any club he joins within FIFA not just UEFA I believe.
  20. This is exactly my thoughts.
  21. Ladbrokes are sponsoring all 4 top leagues I believe. But not sure how the money is split. I think I read somewhere the team that finishes bottom in Premiership next season gets about £5k more than what they get this season.
  22. What if Hibs get to the cup final and play off final?
  23. As Moore got stripped to come on, he trudged back to the bench and held his hands up towards his family/friends as if to say, "what's this about?", knowing he wasn't getting on as it was our third sub. To be fair to IB, Moore did us a turn and the decision to leave out Ainsworth was justified in my opinion.
  24. The first half was dreadful. Laing seemed to me to be a bit too casual which subsequently led to his deserved straight red. I'm sure when he returns we will see a marked improvement in his attitude. Straker was non existent in first half but did well at times in 2nd half to keep things simple and composed. Certainly can't see him being anything like a "pacy winger". Looked much more comfortable at left back. Suttons general play was woeful but as long as he keeps putting his chances away like that then it's hard to be critical. If only we had the enthusiasm of Moore, Thomas and Erwin for the full 90 then we could've nicked it.

    Injuries

I've heard that ZFA is going for an operation. I doubt he will be available anytime soon.
