I agree with mjc that we are heading for a similar aggregate defeat a la pana but as long as the lager over there is cold and relatively cheap and the team try I couldn't give a fuck. If I could be arsed I would go through all the previous threads that said we had a good chance against the Greeks and have a right good laugh. I was one of jennos biggest fans but like dazzer I don't think he is good enough for the championship. I genuinely believe a lot on here underestimate the quality of the teams below the premiership. Dean Sheils couldn't get in the 16 for the team who finished rock bottom of the championship and would be considered a first team regular for any team in Scotland out with of Celtic. Teams like Doncaster have 3 or 4 midfielders who would walk straight in to our first team. Lasley in comparison was not good enough to play regularly in midfield in his prime in the championship and if memory serves me correctly couldn't get a game in midfield for Blackpool on loan who were then in the third tier. So a sense of perspective is required. Players get paid more in the championship because they are better simples. Just have a look around to see where spl are targeting their signings- cast off from league 1 and lower

True - as much as Stuart done a fantastic job, it was fairly obvious that higdon needed someone to play alongside him and the team has shown greater attacking threat since. I think he will push law central bring in Daley or Humphrey and keep the defence the same.

Steve there's a big difference in coming on for half an hour in a cup tie when your 5 or 6 goals to the good than starting in the spl when it's about £90k per league placing. There's a reason he hasn't featured much in the spl this season. He was 5th choice centre midfielder when Hughes was here (rightly or wrongly) I rate carswell and is one to look out for in the future but I think he could benefit with half a seasons loan in the first division first. It's a big decision for McCall on Wednesday as it has been proved that the team that started the last few games is easily our best starting eleven. In Stuart we trust.

There seems to be general consensus that carswell should come straight in to the team on wednesday. Has anyone actually watched him this season? I'm all for the progression of youths into the first team but after watching him in a few bounce / reserve games this season I'm not convinced he's ready. McCall seems to trust hately and law in that position before him and personally I would too.
