Feel free to move on, mate. It is an internet forum, and no one is forcing you to read anything you don't want to. God knows I usually scroll past most of your posts 😂

I don't post long winded pretentious shite though mate, you keep trying to sound clever and knowledgeable with lots  of irrelevant dross that most people pass by. You will get your point across and save yourself keyboard time by getting to the point, only saying like.

You've said before that you don't like reading big words or too many sentences. I get it. But yet, you always find the time to reply 😂

I reply because I live in hope that you will eventually realise its an Internet forum not the Oxford Union debating society and repy/ comment on posts etc short, sweet and to the point. 😀

Do they? Let's say for argument's sake that such services are health, education, justice, rural affairs, housing and the environment.

I'd imagine most footballers get the majority of their health needs seen to by the clubs they play for. And their families will be on private health care if they're sensible.

I don't really see the likes of Liam Kelly or Stephen O'Donnell sending their kids to Clyde Valley High or their local equivalent for schooling. I'd imagine there'll be private options suggested by the club when players move to Motherwell.

On housing, I don't think they'll be getting papped into council houses in Muirhouse or Craigneuk.

They will use some services, but not most of them in my opinion.

It'll be far from a moot point to players and their agents. Especially players coming into Scotland from outside. When a player from outside Scotland is weighing up a move and the salary is higher in England due to lesser taxation I'd imagine a fair amount of them will opt for England. Scotland already has a tough job convincing players to leave England or choose Scotland over England as it is.

I know if I was a foreigner and was looking at moving to Britain, with everything else being reasonably equal (weather, language, lifestyle etc) I'd go wherever I could make the most money. Especially if I was a player who wasn't earning millions of pounds or Euros every year. It's a short career, and I'd rather that more of my salary goes into my savings account than into the pockets of the Scottish government.

Basically, those players won't give a flying f*ck about what sensibly-minded Scottish people think. They're coming here to carry out their profession, earn as much money as they can, and then move on eventually.

Far too much long winded pish to⁷ say this has feck all to do with the thread topic.

If we get beat on Sunday he has to go.

Pish we need stability we are very unlikely to have a new manager In place till after the transfer window closes, so anybody new will still be working with the dross we have now.

The situation is not desperate just now , but not far off it, let's see who we can bring in during the window and give SK a change to see what he's really made of and get us winning again.

We are only 2 or 3 wins away from bothering the Euro spots so no need for panic or tsunami pant wetting just yet.

I know it's not acceptable to say it but I don't care, women's footballs is pish. The goalkeeping is an utter embarrassment and undoes any slight good the outfield player have. I wouldn't waste any precious funds on a woman's team.

Agreed but if the club feels the need to have a women's team fair enough if it's self funding etc and is not taking away funds from the mens team.

The standard of the women's game is shocking and for me the whole thing is a box ticking exercise to show how inclusive the club is etc.

But the reality is that the no doubt the money  allocated to run the women's team ,I've heard 250k a year mentioned but that might be way off, could have been better spent on better players for the 1st team, or improving the stadium, recruiting staff etc.

I was trying the MJC reverse psychology.

Every time we think we will never have a better chance we end up getting pumped!

I know mate I'm the same it will happen one day, probably the game I won't make, but I'm not expecting a win on Sunday but it would not surprise me if we did.

If we had 6 more points no one would be talking about directors or chairman. Hopefully this isn't connected to results or moans and groans from the support.

It's been evident for a while now, especially since Burrows left that the club was not moving in the right direction, the shambles around dumping Alexander and a rushed bad appointment of Hammell, no replacement CEO appointed, signing off on dubious recruitment advice during the summer etc etc.

Maybe the club have finally realised that some changes are required and this is the 1st step, it will be Interesting to see how it develops as the club needs to get back on track both on and off the park.

Rangers are in great form, unbeaten under Clement.

We havent won in 14 games.

We will never have a poorer chance!

    😉

As I said in an earlier post "if carlsberg done Christmas" it would be a win for us on Christmas eve, we've got to get a league win against them sometime so why not on Sunday, how much would that cheer everyone up, 2-1 for the good guys with an added time winner just to get it right up them. 😀

I would say the fact we can't financially compete for players with league 2 teams tells you he's probably not far off the mark.

Pish, how much money a club is willing to pay out in wages to players is no guarantee of their quality or ability, the whole English set up is a house of cards, all of them spending the sky billions and particularly in the lower leagues offering ridiculous wages to bang average at best players, they may be well paid but but they are not all that good at football.

You can't blame the players for taking the money, that's why very few of them come to Scotland and we can't compete because the Scottish clubs with a few exceptions try to live within their means.

I wonder how Morecambe's wage bill would compare to ours, and look how pish theve been.

My question is, why do we have to compare our league to the English leagues? There's this tendency to compare ourselves to England because they're just down the road, but why not compare ourselves to nations of a similar size?

What's the quality like in the Norwegian league? The Irish league? The Slovakian league? Finnish league?

I think it's because the English leagues and European games are almost exclusively what people see on TV in the UK, so they have very limited or no knowledge of any other leagues.

He's using the comparison for effect. Even if it's not 100% true that Morecombe are not exactly 100 times better than County the sentiment that the standard up here is extremely poor is correct.

Again based on what, if you make a statement saying the standard is poor in the SPL what league are you comparing it with?

Every league in the world has shite games, unforced errors, bad referees, average players, boring turgid 0-0 draws etc etc, the SPL is no different but it is what it is.

The SPL may not be populated by world class players but that's the same for the vast majority of leagues all over the world, so don't knock what we have here.

Adams is a fanny but in this instance he's 100% spot on. The standard is atrocious.

Agreed he's a tosser but 100% correct on what he said, based on what?  He was punted from a league 2 side in England because they were shite is he expecting people to believe that the standard there is better than the SPL.

Every side in league 2 in England would be relegation fodder in the SPL, and probably a few in league 1 as well. It's only when you get to championship and premiership level in England that the standard is better.

The SPL is what it is, and statements like "the standard is shocking" are irrelevant unless you are comparing like for like.

No time for cunts like Adams who say fuck all about the standard when they are winning. He had fuck all to say about the standard when RC won their last two games. Same with the OF if they win the league it's light up Dubai and the Clyde. Not a cheep about their achievement being run of the mill cos it's such a shite league. It just sounds like sour grapes from Adam's.

Agreed, he just sounded like a prick on Sportscene, Faddy called him out though reminding him that his previous club were nowhere near SPl standard.

We have only lost 1 of our last 5, heid up folks!! Lol.   Missing chances costing us and well done Kelly, makes amends for last week

Only 2 defeats in the last 7 games and going by the sportscene highlights we should have won today, Blair Spittal ffs how did you not score.

So it's not all doom and gloom for me, yes it's a long time without a win but I reckon we will turn it round, those 5 points from the draws have kept us only a couple of wins away from threatening the top 6, so we're Still in the mix so keep the faith.

If carlsberg done Christmas our long awaited win will be at Fir Park on Christmas eve.

    shankland to the rangurs

van veen to the hertz ,      well lets see if its true ????

If true it would not surprise me, in a better team with more service to him Shankland will do well, as for KVV if he's back to Scotland on loan or permanently it will be for more money than we can offer so why not Tynecastle

Aren't the members views asked for and discussed at meetings? Or do you mean taking another approach?

As for who makes the decisions, I assumed that as a collective, we voted for several representatives to sit on the board. Surely then those individuals are provided with a mandate to vote on behalf of the society?

I'm not a member of the WS, so I don't know what comms the members get on a regular basis but I suspect it's not the best.

The WS reps on the board should know the views of the members on major topics being discussed by the club as that's the only way they can legitimately claim to have a mandate to represent them.

  17. 7 hours ago, David said:

While I'm not an expert, it seems likely that the specifics of such a deal would include confidential information, particularly from Dalziel's perspective. It's uncertain whether the club could share such information with the general public.

If they couldn't, would the broader Well Society membership be able to make well-informed decisions?

Similar to the previous point, obtaining comprehensive information might be challenging, given the reluctance of the club and external entities to disclose certain details publicly.

At that point, we might find ourselves in a situation where individuals are casting votes without possessing a full understanding of the relevant facts. Executing a proposal of this nature for Society members likely involves more complexities than many of us realise.

One thing I'd say is that I'm not 100% certain that the club aren't already carrying these ideas out. Granted, if they are they're not doing it very well, but still.

I don't see it exactly in that way, but the truth is, most of us, myself included, lack the qualifications to make decisions of that nature. That's why we elect representatives to the board to act on our behalf.

I do share the sentiment of holding those board members more accountable. There's a noticeable lack of communication from them. I believe it would be beneficial to have more transparency about their decisions – not necessarily revealing all the details of discussions but at least helping us understand what topics they are voting on as board members and how they cast their votes. It's similar to the accountability we expect from politicians. Currently, it feels like we choose a few individuals, they get elected, and then we seldom hear from them again.

We don't need in depth commercially sensitive information its not rocket science ffs, a simple "the club is looking at possible new training facilities " or "the club are carrying out a feasibility study on a possible relocation to a new stadium" General info that gives the fanbase an insight Into the general direction the club is going, that's all that's needed here, especially for WS members contributing financially.

The WS are the majority shareholders ffs nothing should be signed off without their approval, I know that means asking the membership their views etc but if its not done then its just  ad another poster said " keep giving us your cash every month, technically you'll be in charge but In reality we'll make the decisions and you have no say.

I dont know how they go about exerting power, but I tbink there are only 2 on the board (I could be wrong on that) so in the minority and not able to force through or demand anything if the other board members vote against.....

Thats true they are in a minority but they are the majority shareholders reps on the board so they should be asking the hard questions about the way the club is run, future direction etc thats their role.

i get the impression that they are happy with their positions on the board but won't put their heads above the parapet to question anything that may jepordise their position, if that's the case then what's the point of having reps on the board who never get involved.

Their job should be to make sure the views and concerns of the majority shareholder ie the WS members are known, and put to the board etc for discussion. Yes the other board members might vote them down but then again they might not if the case us persuasive enough, for me thats true fan ownership.

I can't help but think that Mika would benefit more from a system that employs wingers.

Agree with that but he's only going to get that benefit if we sign some in the transfer window, and presumably that means clearing out some of the current dross to free up wages.
