Funny to hear Aberdeen fans greetin about VAR. Without it, we'd have won 4-3.

4-4 surely,  Mijovski had a goal disallowed for offside by VAR as well, that said its poor from us we've scored 10 goals in our last 4 games and dropped 4 points and been knocked out of the cup.

SK seems to have sorted our goal threat issues he now needs to do the same with the defence as its brutal at the moment.

A lot of better teams than us have lost 3 goal leads.

3-0  up after 35 mins then lose 3 goals in the next 20 mins is a feckin joke, but why am I not surprised it's the way we roll these days, the game should have been done. feckin shite from us.

I have to say pal it wasn't wellgirl that made post about the salaries.  Can't remember who but definitely wasn't wellgirl

It was me who posted the lists one for Motherwell and one for Groningen in the debate about trying  to resign KVV, on the ins and outs theead i think, yes they were more than likely speculative shite but I suspect the figures won't be that far away from the truth.

Our issues are beyond an individual manager.

Scottish football has been on an ongoing decline for decades and all the clubs are wrapped up in the gulf between us an other leagues.

    • The club needs to sort itself out and build a more sustainable long term future with CEO, Chairman etc.
    • Financially s a 50:50 split on playing/non playing side is hurting us.
    • I don't see the same investment in youth, it's not the machine it was in the early part of this century.
    • Then you get to the first team, we've slashed the squad size and suspect salary per player.

SK has made poor summer signings but fair play for how he's resolved it.   He's also made some errors in formation, in game management.

Overall though given what he's been up against my personal view is he's performing pretty well and not convinced there's a queue of any better managers waiting in the wings to do something magical.

Add to that list the cash we are allegedly spending each year funding a women's team. For me that's a vanity exercise and the money could be better spent elsewhere.

But I totally agree the problems are not limited to SK the whole governance of the club needs to be looked at.

Hopefully see a reaction to Friday night and a few changes to freshen things up and give Aberdeen something different to think about.

We have a decent record at Puttodrie so could see us getting a draw which would keep them below us.

    3 points would be tasty.

Aberdeen are just as bad as us, make sure Mijovski is denied any time on the ball and they have nothing to offer, as you say our record up there is decent this game is very winnable.

It's horrible on here just now. I've been singled out by a few posters on here over the last few weeks and each time they've got really personal. I don't care whether people agree with me or dont agree with me but i dont do that to anyone. That's twice in the last two weeks I've been told to get off this forum. Whatever. I'd never do that to anyone. I'd never make someone so uncomfortable on here that they don't want to post on here again.

Learn to recognise the fuds on here and just ignore them as they only post shite looking for a reaction, when the team is doing well they are nowhere to be seen and only appear after a bad result,

I have supported Motherwell for 60 plus years

When I was 9 we went to Ibrox and won 5-2 then lost 1-0 at home to Airdrie I should have realised then that it was not worth it. All the hype after the Ross Co game, you just knew we would be let down.

Only 54 years for me but totally agree, I never went tonight or watched it on TV but the result is no surprise, I've lost count over the years of games that we go into as favourites after a great result or run of form, we take a big support and every time we feck it up.

But that's what you get supporting Motherwell it's not our 1st bad result and it won't be the last, we can concentrate on staying in the premiership now.

I wonder if the folk who still say he's no good are actually watching games to see what he brings to the team, or if they're just running with what they were told when we signed him.

I thought he was brutal when we signed him, not up to standard, but his improvement has been fantastic that's him up to 8 goals now I think. That said he's still work in progress and that showed in the chances he missed last night, particularly the 2nd one when he failed to take it round the keeper.

He needs to improve his positional play to get on the end of some of the balls into the box, but if he carries on developing we may just have unearthed a good player.

  9. Brilliant performance tonight, 5 nil and to be honest 7 or 8 would not have flattered us, we pumped them, Bair was outstanding and our 4th goal was a thing of beauty,  goal of the season contender.

Great to see Vale getting a debut goal, he looks quick, there's work to be done but we can maybe start looking upwards a bit now.

It looked blooming shocking, don’t know what game you were watching!

The same one as you, stop being dramatic " blooming shocking" there was feck all wrong with it.

Pitch looked better before we spunked £1m on it. Glorious failure of use of funds for me

So you would have kept the old pitch then, the one that was looking more like a section of the somme battlefield every season, that was a glorious failure as well.

  12. 1 minute ago, sailor_h said:

The pitch is utterly ridiculous for the amount of money that has been spent on it. There hasn’t been that many games played on it this winter. This time last year the pitch was perfect. Is the new groundsman not up to the job?

What's up with the pitch to make it ridiculous? It looked OK to me on Saturday

obviously after he rattles in goals against everybody else bar us.

Do you honestly think he will score lots of goals, he's looking overweight, hasn't played since November, so it's going to take at least a month to get him match fit he's not the goal machine from last season, but he's Killies problem now.

  14. 14 minutes ago, Stuwell2 said:

Might be they thought it was better to have him sitting on their bench rather than run the risk of him going to StMirren and them ending above Killie.

When they finish in 6th and out of the Euro places and KVV is away back to Groningen they'll realise it was money wasted

    What does that even mean?

That reads like the laziest clichés in the worst newspapers.

If we get something less than 3 points is there some new rule that means we're forbidden from winning any more games this season?

I suppose "good to win game, but a draw wouldn't be a disaster and even if we lost we've started to show better form that will likely pick up sufficient points to stay safe this season" match is a bit long winded.

You know exactly what it means, but you chose to respond with some patronising shite, "The laziest clichés in the worst newspapers" aye OK then 🤦‍♂️

  16. I'm on record as saying Bair is brutal, and never premiership standard, but the way he's playing I might have to reconsider that view, he's getting better week by week, his positional sense is still a bit ropy, and not enough sticks to him, but as SK's project he is turning out well so far. 2 points lost for me today, we deserved to win.

World of a difference being skint and not willing to pay exorbitant demands.

As for your closing statement - often repeated yet, nothing constructive offered. A lack of understanding prevails also. Plenty of business acumen amongst these well meaning amateurs you speak of. Back on track to where? Club accounts clearly show the club as being stable. Financial climate has changed immeasurably and the well meaning amateurs have recognised that & fielding opportunities for investment latest interest earlier this week for example.

Unfortunately in modern football exorbitant wage demands are the norm and at a level we cant compete in so the clubs unwillingness to pay them is irrelevant.

As for the current custodians of our club I've no doubt they are all successful business people in their own fields but not at running a football club, these are the people who signed off on players like Obika, Souare, Shaw, Wilkinson etc⁸ costing the club  decent money no doubt on wages etc for nothing in return. we're now on our 3rd manager since Robinson left, we can't seem to appoint a CEO to replace Burrows, our recruitment strategy is a shambles and year on year its getting worse, its a constant downward spiral.

I hope the recent moves to attract additional investment are successful as that may be the catalyst needed to get the club back on track to building a stable team, instead of the summer and winter clearouts we seem to now be getting.

  18. Let's get some context on this ffs, I have no doubt that there were lots of strikers available none of which were experienced, prolific regular starters as they are not available in a January window and especially not for the money we can offer. I'm sure SK tried but the harsh reality is we're not an attractive proposition for some players especially financially.

So the players we brought in are what we can afford people need to realise as a club we are feckin skint. The usual suspects are slagging off Vale without seeing him play, they probably did the same for Higdon, and KVV so let's wait and see how it turns out.

Our defence is just about the worst in the league so we sign defenders and people are still not happy ffs.

As I've said before and no apologies for repeating myself the whole club set up / governance needs reformed the well meaning amateurs we currently have need to go as the club needs to get back on track and stabilise.
