Here's the article in full Last week, Jens Berthel Askou raised some eyebrows ahead of Motherwell’s visit to Celtic Park by boldly proclaiming that his team would not be going to the home of the champions to frustrate them, but to win. In the end, only a last-gasp Daizen Maeda goal prevented his men from returning to Lanarkshire with a point, which on the strength of their performance, they may have felt was the least they deserved. Having gone behind, The Steelmen showed strength of character and exhibited some fine play to first draw level and then pull ahead courtesy of an Apostolos Stamatelopoulos double, only for Celtic’s late comeback to leave them empty handed. What they did take away from the game though was even more confidence that under Berthel Askou, and with his expansive style, they can not only compete for silverware and at the right end of the table during this season, but have a foundation upon which to build something special in the longer term. The Dane doesn’t seem the type to make outlandish statements that his team cannot then back up, so when he casts an eye to the Fir Park future and references the example of Bodo/Glimt, then it pricks the ear, and it should be something that excites the Motherwell fanbase, comparable in number as it may be the Norwegian shock troops Under Kjetil Knutsen, the team from inside the Arctic Circle have gone from relative oblivion in footballing terms to the Champions league. The odds of Berthel Askou taking Motherwell along a similar path may seem fanciful, but the same might have been said about Bodo/Glimt 10 years ago. Given time, and an opportunity to build upon the solid base he has already constructed, Berthel Askou believes anything is possible. "It's difficult at bigger clubs that have to produce results straight away,” Berthel Askou said. "I think the smaller the club, the more time you are given to produce results. That's the nature of football. "But I think there's more and more good examples in modern football of smaller clubs who have grown to become top clubs because they didn't have that pressure of having to win now. "Bodo/Glimt is a good example in Norway. They are now in the Champions League, but they came from nowhere. From nothing. Now it's one of the most successful clubs in Scandinavia. "They've kept building and building and haven't mentioned the word winning or result or victory. They don't use it in their vocabulary, in their approach, which is very interesting. "The top clubs, who are consistent, focus on performance and development, because they know that's what is going to keep them winning league titles and performing in Europe." It is easy to see then why they, and their coach Knutsen, are such a template for Berthel Askou to follow, and he hopes, an achievable vision for Motherwell as a club to reach for. "Full credit to Bodo/Glimt,” he said. “What they've done as a football club is a great inspiration, especially to clubs who aren't the biggest size. "Mjallby in Sweden is another example. They were more used to fighting relegation. Now a few years later they're top of the league by a mile. And it's not because they've had a sugar daddy, pumping millions into the club. That's not how Swedish football works. It's fan owned. "That shows that things are possible for the smaller clubs, as long as they have a good solid approach and they keep their composure within the club and the fans. "If they trust each other, they can do great things in time.

An interesting article in the Herald on how JBA sees Motherwell's development and what we might achieve longer term https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/25528477.jens-berthel-askou-motherwells-bodo-glimt-blueprint/

Or the opposition were brutal
-
Aye a straightforward error free great team performance with a few goals and 3 points in the bag would be nice.

There will be Dave, the helpful stewards and police Scotlands finest telling you to stop holding up the queue arguing about QR codes or you are off to jail

It seems you only need everyone you bought tickets for to download and register with an email address on the app when you want to transfer the tickets to them. The whole set up seems to be based on the assumption that everyone will have a smartphone and an email address etc to enable it to work smoothly. But as we know that's not always the case and it looks like there are no procedures in place to cater for those who for whatever reason dont have a suitable phone. Its the SFA so I'm not surprised its a shambles.
-
There will probably be an app to help you remember by then
-
From. What I've read no you cant its all digital, no physical tickets will be issued. Its a nonsense to be honest, all I can suggest is get a friend or family member to get a ticket for you.
-
I was hoping for the same, but as you say not on sale. I decided on south stand section J 1 and got 2 £40 tickets in there, an extra £4 but should be a good view.
-
Spot on, if there are no other options available then kick it long and clear the danger, it was very poor judgement from Ward that cost us a goal that's probably 4, maybe even 7 points hes cost us so far in just seven games.
-
I went for Stamatelopoulos I've been critical of him and I'm still not convinced but he did well today, so credit where its due.
-
The errors made by Ward are nothing to do with the system JBA is asking the players to play, they are pure and simply him making a complete James Hunt of it and failing to meet the basic requirements of a goal keeper, ie catching the ball or not passing it straight to an opposition player.
-
Or Ward could have taken the simple, easy and sensible option of just booting it up the park as far as possible and we would not have lost a goal.
-
Just seen the highlights of Celtics 2nd goal, WTF was Ward doing, he passed it straight to the Celtic player ffs, yes he makes a few good saves but hes making too many bsd errors, time for Oxborough to get a chance
-
You really are an arsehole, have a look at yourself ffs🤦♂️
-
A bit early for that assessment, hes scoring goals so hes on the right track but the jury is still out, I hope the improvement continues.
-
Maybe the goal last week did give him a boost, I hope it has and he starts making a habit of scoring
-
Mikka Biereth on as a sub for Monaco v Man city in the champions league tonight.
-
You make your own luck, we never settled for the draw and went for the win, and we got our rewards, even after we scored we were still attacking in the 97th min. But like you I still remain to be convinced about Stamatelopoulos hopefully last night will be the boost he needs, that said I'd hope we are looking at targets to bring in another striker in January just in case.
-
Avoid buying tickets for the Celtic end, that's where the "singers " will be, plus the view of the pitch is shite. The north stand near the back or South stand lower section I 6 seem to be the best views available.
-
Managers never leave Motherwell and go on to greater achievements, Fir Park is the high point in their careers. 😃
-
Two Scottish goalkeeping legends playing that night as well Goram and Leighton conceding 11 goals between them 😂
-
Beaten again, finished 2-0 to Untd, Thelin might not be in charge on Saturday.

Our good run in the league cup has also brought us a decent cash reward just over £228k so far from TV and prize money, with hopefully more to come. https://x.com/SPFLWatch/status/1969807339491602477?t=yHwDPCKasnNOq9fpSPS6Gg&s=09
