  1. We might be better technically but they can afford to pay far higher wages and what we can afford is where we are getting the players from. Finances are tight, however, the finances have been improved slightly by the new owner but we already have shitload of players getting wages for doing fuck all all season long. We can't get rid of them because no one wants them so we have to balance the books with what we can afford. Championship players and above are not in our league.
  2. Totally agree, team has been screaming out for players and when we sign someone people are still moaning. Some guys haven't even played for the team yet. We are not a top flight club and can't attract decent players here on loan.
  3. Probably over his injury and looking for some game time to get back to full fitness. From that article he is credited with being responsible for Plymouth good defensive record. Happy to take that risk on what could be a decent defender which could be the difference in shoring up that defence and keeping us away from relegation.Would be happy with 3 or 4 of our defenders to go out on loan elsewhere if this comes off
  4. obviously IB has no faith in what we have defenders wise with a new. left back (Straker) and two central defenders. I suppose asking for another right back considering we have 6 already would have taken it too far. a winger Thomas (who suffers bad asthma attacks), Long the keeper and Pearson is a lot of business for a club our size.
  5. We haven't signed anyone for an hour, what's going on...
  6. God what a lift just knowing we are signing players and have other potential targets lined up, feels like we are at least trying to get back on the road to recovery.
  7. Like I said we wont sign any ex-well players under IB ....I don't have a fucking clue what's going on..
  8. Going by all these comments the only one we will have at the end of the season is the manager..!!!
  9. New manager and the silly season has started with us being linked with everyone under the sun. Don't they know we are absolutely skint with an even more reduced budget next season. We will be concentrating big time on youth hopefully. The youth players who have been on the fringes need to get much more game time this season and from what I have seen of them so far have been much hungrier and their confidence is high when they have had game time in the first team compared to our so called senior professionals.
  10. I don't think we will see any ex-well players coming back under the new manager. I am sure he has his own targets in mind.
  11. I have absolutely none unfortunately. He was the first team coach under McCall and must accept a large portion of the blame for the poor fitness and form of the players. I don't expect us to get anymore points under his leadership at all and would be shocked to even get a point against the next 3 teams with him in charge.
  12. It will be announced when the usual fanfare is in place. When we can get it widely publicised etc...wish we had a media officer would go a hell of a lot quicker with one..
  13. I am outraged at the suggestion that I get outraged at the slightest excuse.. ...........
  14. The thought of Butcher as manager is complete and utter madness. How anyone on here thinks it will be a good appointment is completely beyond me. Plenty of claret and amber tinted specs and golden memories ruling heads here. I hope the board continue the tradition of appointing someone no one is expecting and is not an ex-Motherwell player/coach, manager. We need a manager who will change things around here not an old pals act. This idea that they have to have some connection in some way to Motherwell is ridiculous. Motherwell minded is a disaster. No nonsense manager who can steady the ship short term but with a medium to long term plan is required.
  15. Comedy gold Milo...nice one... The players wouldn't know what an important game is if it came up and hit them squarely in the face. A lot of professional players I thought were Well legends have shown me not to hero worship. They turned out to be a huge disappointment when the chips were down and when we actually needed those dyed in the wool veterans to get us through this they are all hiding away in plain view.
  16. Bit late they could have done with it on the park
  17. Budget for finishing 10th every season and first round exit of cups. Simple. Anything above that is a bonus. If that means losing some high earners, well am all for that. Even if we totter around in the championship for a few years before coming back up, better that than no club at all.
  18. Ahh think that was due to 'Skippy Sunday' they have never got over that
  19. exactly, maybe I went on too long but my sentiments as well
  20. Thats what Boyle promised he would do. I wonder what is going on with Boyle that he needs this sorted as quickly, deadlines are set and he is getting out no matter what. I know his shares have been up for offer for some considerable time but it is the first time there has been such a deadline. Also if the WS do get the soft loan/ funding etc then where does that leave funding going forward. If all the cash is tied up in buying the shares and keeping us afloat then we are basically treading water. I know we can once again cut out cloth accordingly but if we do anymore we will be a part time club. If we do turn part time (it has been hinted at in the past) I don't see us going any other way other than a quick exit of the Premiership and down the leagues. If John Boyle sells out to the 'other' bidder then I also have grave fears for the identity of the club. It may be lost forever if we become a feeder club for South american players. If you lose the soul of the club then what is the point of continuing to support it. I have no answers, I am just thinking out aloud, wondering the best way forward if there is one. The only thing I can see is that no matter what happens there will be even less cash to keep the team going under the WS and no team at all as we know it under the other option if rumours are to be believed. This is truly a watershed moment for the club
  21. Have they..?? news to me I thought he had distanced himself from the job at least publicly. Haven't heard any new approach from either side since other than some fantasists on here. Also this Nobbie Solano group, I know Boyle wants rid of his shares but I know that he is very keen in getting the right person(s) to take over the club or he would have already sold it to the one dodgy guy a few years back during the Malpas era. I can't see this ever happening, no one in their right mind would sell the club, not even Boyle to a Craig Whyte type character again in Scotland.
