    Game Off

We canny afford to buy any of the loan players if the rumours are to be believed what chance have we of affording a new stadium, get real. In the current climate Mr Boyle has the biscuit tin well and truly welded shut and who can blame him, only a nutter would finance a stadium when the banks and economy are still in chaos.
  2. Yep, got to agree, Someone up front, proven goalscorer would be nice but finances will decide that I suppose and a decent centre half assassin would do me in January
  3. Hope its no that wee fud McDonald....
  4. Currently looking through the list of qualified nations from Asia an Oceania as thats as close as I think we will get
  5. Hope to god he hasn't got the same contacts as Mark McGhee or we will be waiting a while..!! Hope to fuck its no Bougherra, we will never see the sod for playing internationals...!!
  6. If I hadn't seen MJC posting on the forum I swear you were him in disguise..
  7. Good effort guys...time to hammer the South Lanarkshire filth...!!
  8. Aw come on get a grip FFS...Its a high scoring game where a player has broke a Scottish Record..think it warrants a mention or two...I like to know whats happening elsewhere as well so I know how the league is shaping up..!!
  9. Fuck me what do we have to bloody do to get a goal...!!
  10. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH.....!!! Someone's a bit touchy...!!
  11. C'mon the WELL....!!!!!!!
  12. Fuck, Fuck, Fuck...!! So Close
  13. I know, I was referring to the interview before kick off, he really sounded excited at the prospect, almost like a wean in a sweetie shop..!!
  14. Really sounds like Auld Broon is doing his damndest to sell his experience to get the job long term. He really wants to allow the youngsters to develop further as well.
  15. Nail on the head...!! Without a doubt in my mind Gannon realised what he had to work with and went into a deep depression which he never came out off really. I suppose he didn't commit his future to the club as he wasn't given any money to rebuild and pure speculation again here that the Ruddy situation where JB was willing to part with the cash for a quick profit and unwilling to invest on lower league players was probably the straw the broke the camels back for Gannon. With his vision out the window he was probably quickly demotivated as he knew he did not have the quality of player he knew he required to turn us around. Again I stress given time I have no doubt he would have turned us into a young free flowing football team. If only we had a board to match his ambition. If only we employed Gannon when we were able to purchase the Spencers and Gorams of this world. I know there is a lot of ifs and maybe in my argument but modern football has no room for visionaries and clubs want top league short term survival. I can see also the chairman side of things but if you have no faith in your manager by not providing them with the funds to do the job then you will get a few more demoralised managers like Gannon on the future. I know we are living in more austere times but I feel we have lost someone with great ability and vision who one day with the right chairman funding his young team will run riot in whatever league he manages. No arguments from me about his strengths and weaknesses we know what they are and he has not been shy in showing both off at times, just feel that if JB had shown a wee bit more faith by releasing some funds then Gannon would have signed that contract. Its all hindsight now and no doubts there will be strong arguments against in the coming hours and days but this is only my humble opinion. I, as always support the team no matter who manages it or owns it. Club survival is everything just wish we had more faith in this guy as I firmly believe he would have turned us into a very attractive team challenging regularly for honours for little outlay.
  16. Any prospective manager worth their salt will want to now what the financial situation is and I don't mean their wages. 1. How much of a transfer budget is involved if we are to believe rumours then there may be as much as half a million floating about 2. What are the timescales and expectations of the board. 3. Will they have the backing off the board. If JB is alleged to have been willing to part with the cash for Ruddy in the expectation of doubling his investment quickly then refusing to provide cash for other players on Gannons list ( pure speculation no flame wars please) 4. Contract - what type and for how long - any release clauses by either side. Only a few considerations but ones I would be looking to get clarified if I was getting interviewed. Maybe some lessons to be learned from the manager merry go round at Motherwell FC

Same old names...most of them I wouldn't touch with a bargepole even if they offered their services for free. As previously stated any ex-players would be crossed off straight away, don't think we have any ex well players with enough experience to step up to the plate.

I was kinda supporting your earlier comments but you are starting to sound a bit psycho...Do you have issues you wish to share..??
  19. hmmm interesting read on the situation and one I reflected on earlier...half a million eh...wonder if the new man will see any of that or is JB only in it for a quick return and willing to part with the cash...speculate to accumulate..JB has done worse things than that before so not all shite methinks..
  20. Flogging dead horses gentlemen...we will never know the full reasons behind this unless Gannon comes out in the next few days with his version. I don't know if he is a vindictive person but if he is he will absolutely slaughter the Scottish game and quite rightly too. Think the Motherwell post is starting to look like a poisoned chalice

No he certainly is not.. any ex-players should automatically be banned from applying.!!
  22. according to flows topic its quoted as saying he refused ON A NUMBER OF OCCASSIONS to sign a contract. No timetable quoted but it seems to have been quite reasonable request by the board to have him commit himself to the Well and appears to have been given ample opportunity to do so. Although, him starting without signing a contract still eats at me and seems quite unprofessional by the Well board, but then again I don't know the facts behind the deal.

My gut feeling is JB needs to make his choice and stick by the man and get some seasons under their belt. I know we could end up with another Malpish situation but we REALLY need some stability
