  1. Good signing as others have said Twardzik is only been in running for POTY because of the ineptitude of the rest of the squad. Hopefully a commanding keeper will take some of the pressure off the defence and allow them to worry about there role rather than protect the keeper.
  2. Probably has suffered this season by having to play in so many different positions.
  3. Have to agree O'Brien causes so many problems. He should have been stronger on Saturday at St Johnstones 1st goal. Kerr isn't great but given a run at centre half would offer far more than O'Brien.
  4. No Nevin was complicit in the club going into administration, he was in charge of a football dealings, he then walked away instead of admitting his part in the mess. Boyle made a mess of a lot of things but Nevin was advising him and spending Boyle's millions on players that weren't worth it. Boyle lost money. Nevin made a fortune out of Motherwell.
  5. Been like that quite often there are a few players hiding this season not looking for the ball it then makes it very difficult if you are trying to play some football rather than just hoofing it and in fairness to Law he's one of the few that has tried to pass the ball but he'll look worse giving the ball away rather than midfielders that hide away.
  6. Was surprised that Kerr didn't start I thought he had a decent game last week and O'Brien has been very poor most of the season. I understand we have been badly hit with injuries but we can't hope for any consistency when various players are changing position weekly. Hopefully over the next two weeks we can get some of the injured players back and start having a settled side.
  7. Agree a few weeks ago we would have lost that game heavily after conceding early goal and having player sent off. Hopefully our injury list will clear up now and can close gap on Partick.
  8. I'm hoping game is off too mainly because I can't go this weekend and a rearranged game would suit me better.
  9. Would assume the manager has seen him play and will know exactly where he will fit in and what he will offer us. Just because he doesn't fit in with another manager in another team doesn't necessary mean he won't fit into a system and style of play that suits us. Here's hoping anyway.
  10. Have to agree with you, he was unfit for much of his time during his second spell here. Also felt he tried to do to much himself and never released the ball when he should have. We will miss him but he's not irreplaceable.
  11. Only pure speculation but I think it was possibly the Vigurs/Dayton switch which has broken down. And if we can't get Vigurs off the books the move will be dead.
  12. Could possibly fallen through because of Vigurs fitness issues.
  13. Yes witnessed the performance at Dens and at Tannadice and I would have the defence on Saturday at anytime compared to the shambles at Dens.
  14. I would start with the team that started on Saturday, I understand the frustration with Sutton but on Saturday we were getting the ball into the box and creating chances and I firmly believe Sutton will convert more chances than Erwin in the box. Also Pearson made good runs from midfield on Saturday and linked fairly well with Sutton holding ball up.
  15. Reid was right back played fairly well. Ramsden and Carswell were centre of midfield, Law on the right and Pearson on the left.
  16. After Willie Collums recent displays I thought that level of ineptitude couldn't be surpassed however Thompson ably assisted by the linesmen managed that. He failed to award a stonewall penalty constantly let heavy tackles go unpunished yet stopped the flow of the game with silly little awards. But you could nearly accept that he was just a shocking ref but until now I have never witnessed a referee basically make up rules over his handling of the non goal award, there's been little reference to it in the media but I would expect Sportscene tonight to highlight it. Thompson needs to be taken to task by the SFA over this and should be removed from officiating at all further games. I understand interpretation of laws can be tricky at times but referees can not start making them up.

I would give it to Erwin caused a lot of problems for United still needs a bit of composure at critical times but yesterday his pace, strength and control was excellent. There were a few candidates though, which hasn't been the case that often this season, but Pearson, Law even Kerr had a good game.
  18. Agree completely, not often I come away from a 3-1 defeat feeling positive.
  19. 2 good penalty claims in first half, angle I was at it was impossible to say if they were stonewall but referee was shocking so I fully expect 1 or both to be.
  20. If non playing staff count then, Bobby Watson (player then later manager) Craig Brown (assistant then manager) Tam Forsyth (player then assistant) Kenny Black (player then assistant) Willie McLean (manager then assistant) Pat Quinn ( player then assistant ) I'm sure there are many more of this ilk.
