Agree completely, never does anything flashy just goes about his job very similar to Stevie Hammell.

I would keep Law, maybe didn't start the season well but I think at right back he's done a solid job and in a squad of right backs he's made the position his own. Hopefully Luke Watt pushes for the place next season and if he's better he will get the position. But Law offers more versatility than Ramsden or Reid so I would keep him as a useful squad player.

I'm sure we will win but not by the load of goals many are predicting. I reckon a nervy 2-1.

I would have ZFA in ahead of Straker if he was fit.

I agree that it's not a must win game however if we lose it I think it will be shattering to any hopes of staying up. Accies are on a poor run and desperate for a win( something Motherwell normally provide to teams on a poor run) Motherwell are playing their best football of this season so far and only Long losing the plot cost us a remarkable result on Friday night. So I honestly feel we could go a long way to eradicating some of the pain of previous derby results this season and give Accies a hammering.

£10 sent hope it helps.

Only a rumour at time but I was told he decided to go to Killie as he was told he wasn't going to be a definite first choice and that Hollis would be given the chance also.

On the whole a 2-1 defeat at Pittodrie isn't the end of the world and when you compare it to the performances at Dens Park or New Douglas Park in January then the progress is obvious. Also it was a much better display than the last game of last season at Pittodrie only difference we had Lady Luck whilst this season we've had very little which was evident again last night. I feared that a good Aberdeen side turning us over last night would have destroyed the little confidence that we have shown in the last few weeks. I don't understand the negative melt-down on here though. We weren't expected to win last night but with a bit of composure and luck the performance deserved at least a point. With this weeks fixtures we were always likely to lose ground but from now on we are only playing teams that are around us in the league and I'm now confident that after recent performances we can take points out of every remaining fixture if we do that we will comfortably stay up

Remember Hearts team of late 80's had 2 small similar players in Robertson and Foster who caused our defence at the time loads of problems. I imagine Moore and McDonald could form a similar partnership.

I think it will be same starting 11 as Saturday but possibly change formation. I think the manager will go back to his 4-2-3-1 formation he was using so 1 up front McDonald with Erwin back on the left and Johnson on the right. Grant and Lasley will sit deeper with Pearson in front of them. I think it would be better sticking with 4-4-2 with Sutton in for Erwin. I am also slightly concerned about Hayes running at Straker but hope his improvement from Saturday continues.

Also it's not games being postponed that's the issue for me, it's sitting in freezing conditions it becomes an endurance sport. In the days of terracing at least you had option of shuffling around to keep warm.

Or TV companies actually bidding to get some decent competitive games on over the summer months. I would imagine corporate companies would be more easily persuaded to sponsor leagues and competitions if Scottish games were receiving more media interest.

Yes but that's part of the huge frustrion with him, at times he doesn't want to get involved when everyone knows he has the pace and talent too. To be fair the pitch was shocking and ball was sticking in mud or bobbling but Johnson created far more and got stuck in. Ainsworth had a chance 10 mins to go 50/50 ball he could have knicked he was clean through but he didn't even challenge.
-
I felt none of the substitutions aided us today in fact I felt we lost our shape and composure. Especially taking Grant off we were well on top creating a lot of pressure. Ainsworth came on and Killie came into game more. I agree about Ainsworth he did very little, any 50/50 he bottled it and his delivery at set pieces was shocking.

Graham and Pettigrew for me, but agree with many others that Arnott and Coyne run them close.

I'm usually an optimist, glass half full sort of person. I have expected for the last few seasons a dip in form but always envisioned the team being at worst top of the bottom 6. I can remember comfortablly back to the mid 70's in Motherwell sides, I've had my fair share of highs as well as lows in supporting Motherwell. The McCall years on a whole encapsulated that, the unparalleled achievement of constantly finishing "best of the rest" with the utter dismay of our cup form Since the start of this season I have felt that we were a result away from turning our season around, I was at Perth for ultimately McCall's last game and we dominated 1st half and conceded goal against run of play before calamitous individual errors in defence brought about defeat and McCall's resignation. I doubted that Black was the right appointment but his 1st game against Dundee United we showed a fight and passion which has been missing all season. Barraclough was the correct appointment his scouting knowledge of England and Ireland and his success in Ireland at least on paper look a logical appointment. I constantly felt results would improve after we get some injured players back then I too bought into the optimism of transfer deadline day feeling now we can push up the table. Yesterday however was a sickner ok Ross County scored a couple of great goals that would have undone most teams but yet again we allowed them time and space to play the ball into our defence creating the opportunities for them, yet when we go forward our midfield never seem to have the time to dominate the game or provide the ammunition for Sutton to feed off of. The reality is I can't now see us turning the season around every week on this forum we have all been "next week is crucial must win" yet we have lost (usually really badly) the feeling has been we are too strong to go down especially when we have a fit squad but no we just seem to be getting worse. St Mirren every season are in a relegation dogfight yet survive, Ross County too seem to have more of an appetite and experience of battling the drop than we have. Motherwell seem to be hurtling out of the league in a very similar style to Hibs last season. I live in Fife now and yesterday I went to watch Raith v Falkirk game as I couldn't afford the trip to Dingwall. While watching that game but focusing on the score in Dingwall I couldn't help compare Falkirk and Raith with us. As football clubs they are of similar size without the limited success of Motherwell, both have a catchment area similar to Motherwell and they aren't impeded just as much as having the Old Firm on their doorstep, yet both these clubs are now destined to mid table championship clubs. If Motherwell continue to plummet towards the foot of the table and get relegated then we could be down there for the foreseeable future The truth is we have no right to expect Motherwell to be a top 6 SPL side we have to fully support all players, staff, and board members until the end of the season and trust that united as fans and club we can get out of this mess so we don't end up amongst the Falkirk's and Raith Rovers.

It was more that he had done better than O'Brien, not difficult I know.
-
Yes would have Kerr in centre of defence. He's been playing solidly. O'Brien has been a bombscare especially since the Dundee game.
-
Encouraging interview with the manager, I feel as a club Motherwell are moving back to the type of club we always were developing good young players either that have come through our own youth system or being scouted from the lower leagues. I am feeling optimistic about the clubs future for the first time in a while.

6pm I believe but not sure that the pitch will be playable at The Excelsior.
-
Trying to work out if I can justify the journey up would love to see the game could be the start of the revival. Also Ross County will not have a clue what team they are going to face so should be a major benefit.
-
The page says contract so we must have signed him.
-
Very positive day so far, normally just glad when transfer window closes that we haven't lost any players. Didn't expect this amount of activity.
-
I can only assume that the manager has looked at the defence and the amount of goals that have been conceding and decided that we need to change personnel there. Fair enough judgement. Also could be going to alter formation and play 3 central defenders with 2 wing backs. At the end of this season if we are still in Premiership then it's worked if it doesn't then at least they are just loan signings so we don't have them on wage bill.
