  1. We told them where to stick their shitty blue pound for the play offs and that turned out OK. Let's see if we can't put 6 past them in a single game next season, the Neanderthal scum.
  2. If he shaved that beard off and got laid into the Grecian 2000 I reckon we could re-sign him for next season. He's already proved he's better crippled than some of our more recent able-bodied 'keepers. Two particular memories of the great day itself stick in my mind, apart from the obvious. A bunch of Dundee Utd fans applauding us as our buses drove away from Hampden, even though they must have been hurting like fuck; and watching the highlights of the game in a jam-packed Electric Bar that night, pissed, tired and happy, and still not really believing it when the final whistle blew.
  3. The very fact that a case could still be made for voting for Ripley after a 7-0 drubbing tells its own sad story.
  4. It's not fucking meaningless to me! If nothing else, I now have to take pelters at work tomorrow from a plastic fucking paddy who probably couldn't even name more than 2 of the current Celtic squad. Somehow the fact that it could have been a lot worse is scant consolation.
  5. County 3-0 up against Aberdeen now, whatever that proves.
  6. I'd prefer a fucking left back!
  7. ...and then hopefully to swell the mighty River Clyde with their tears afterwards!
  8. I was supposed to be at this one but had to cancel due to a family illness. Hopefully I'll be over for the Accies game. I know you can't make judgements based on YouTube, but we actually looked much better on the highlights than I was expecting after some of the earlier comments, even in the first half. Our second goal in particular was a thing of beauty.
  9. Close, but no cigar. As a 'Well fan, this "Am I In Denial" thread strikes a particular chord.
  10. No subs used. Maybe we're getting fitter? And no late, late goals conceded either. Maybe not a classic, but the points are in the bank.
  11. Oh, you heartless bastard, let everyone know the poor sod's wife is a lesbian, why don't you?
  12. Hamilton Academical chairman Les Gray is adamant that "artificial pitches are here to stay", and he is calling for the same standards applied to synthetic surfaces to be introduced for grass parks, describing some as "mud heaps". Better a mud heap than a shit heap, Mr Gray. You made your plastic bed, now lie in it.
  13. Fair enough, thanks Andy. (The "what" was quite self-explanatory, it was the "why" I was struggling with.) Speaking as someone who only makes a couple of games every season, and who doesn't vote on any I haven't been at, I'd have been more tempted to remove the "Null Vote" category altogether rather than add another option to keep track of everyone who doesn't actually have an informed opinion but who just can't resist pressing a button. At least that way each vote would actually mean something, whether it was based on personally observing the whole ninety, the muted highlights on Alba, the opinion of your mate who did go, or just a vote for whoever was the biggest, handsomest bastard that week. In the grand scheme of things though, as you say, it doesn't skew anything unduly. Maybe I should just get out more.
  14. I'm not a fan of this "No Idea, Wasn't There" option, which adds precisely jack shit squared in my opinion. What's the thinking there?
  15. It's a competition now? Challenge accepted! It's all lies, damned lies, and over-analysis of limited statistics anyway. This one is my favourite: "Of the 12 charges at Firhill in 2013-14, seven were during a Rangers versus Celtic under-17 game rather than in a game that involved the home team". FFS.
  16. More of a passback, really. Had to laugh at our first corner, 53 minutes in, going right over everyone and out for a throw on the other side. Fucking woeful.
  17. Mildly surprised to see Johnson start ahead of Ainsworth but, hey, I suppose the gaffer knows what he's doing. (On which note, has Leanne been on lately?)
  18. What a great - and timely - thread. Who wouldn't buy the compilation DVD of that lot!? Of the games I've attended, it's the '91 final for me, just edging out the 4-2 semi that preceded it. The games someone mentioned earlier where McClair scored 5 to win consecutive home games against Rangers then Celtic were pretty memorable too. Finally, a special mention for the entire 1981-2 season. The pre-match walk up Airbles Road never felt so good as that season progressed, the only concern being whether we'd score 6 that day, or only 5. Do you feel lucky, punks? Well, do ya?
  19. I'm smiling on the outside at my many memories of Joe, but inside I'm crying. I doubt the Steelmen will ever see his like again. RIP Joe.
