On the subject of a pre-season game with Livingston anyone remember that Motorola Cup in 2000/2001 ?
Sure we won 6-1 and Andy Goram lifted a trophy 🏆, memory may be playing tricks
Both teams had the Motorola sponsors of course

Doubt too many will pay to see us play Livingston
Wasnt expecting any glamour tie to be fair , though had hoped for maybe an English championship or League 1 club

With it being the last game of the season on Sunday it got me thinking about last games of the season in years gone past
This one came to mind in May 2000, not seen much footage of it since and taken from a Rangers youtube channel
For our younger fans who do not remember this game we played Rangers off the park on this day, then the fans invaded the park at the end of the game. A bit like the play-offs you could say

Never rated Craig Levein as a manager , strikes me as a decent guy though
He is good on Sacked in the Morning with Amy Irons and seems like a guy who doesn’t take things too seriously , and good sense of humour
Good programme also , listened to our own David Clarkson week or two back and a sad listen talking about that day in 2007

This. And you know looking back at this thread from the beginning. Are there many names that folk were saying that back then that they would rather actually have right now instead of Kettlewell?
Loads of names were mentioned am sure including Levein. He's got loads of management experience and look at the position St Johnstone are in right now. Of course he'd made fuck ups along the way but a massive for me was that he didn't lose the dressing room when we were on that poor run.
I would be taking Kettlewell over Craig Levein any day

Stuart Kettlewell has earned the right to be manager next season
Was a really poor 15 game run between September-December , would have been worse had it not been for a good few draws
Apart from the 15 game winless run just mentioned his time at the club has been a positive for me
Sir Alex Ferguson was once a game away from being sacked and the rest was history as they say

9 goals in 2 games , a lot to be pleased about with that
It has a slight sense of dejavu as we finished last year as well strongly with Kev Van Veen the star man , on a very positive note we should look upon it as finishing the season strongly with better days ahead
Another day on the Well rollercoaster and enjoy it 👍
Another good thing this weekend , Airdrie got beat last night

5-1 to the Motherwell
5-1 to the Motherwell 😊

I have a lot of programmes still, I used to collect them even from games if I had not been there
There used to be a guy who had a shop in Kilmarnock years ago, who had quite a good collection of Motherwell ones

Happy with a 4-1 win
Wasn’t a classic at all , but take a 4-1 win anytime. Seen some negative comments already on the likes of Facebook about beating Livi etc but I’d rather just enjoy the 3 points and try focusing on the positives

Brilliant night , brilliant journey home on the supporters bus and what a game
On paper that is a really good Motherwell side
Enjoyed that run to the final in 2005 and the build up , with the exception of the game itself . Remember all the Well fans singing Is this the way to Amarillo just before kick off and the Rangers fans looking on bewildered no doubt that they were being outsung

Day off today so what better way to start the day , renew the season ticket
Bought it online last year but fancied a wee trek up to Fir Park just for the sake of it
3 points tomorrow as well would be good

Funny funny to see the Rainjurs lose , I had been hearing all week how the league was won already , silence in work tomorrow now and no slagging Well
Day of shocks all round with Liverpool and Arsenal losing
Football a funny old game as someone once said

We could not have paid it. Clearly. And he's done nothing for them anyway. Hasn't scored a single goal.
On reflection was a good thing we did not sign Kevin Van Veen back , and I was a big fan too

Kettlewell. "If we get top six we're punching well above our weight,
that's shite! Kilmarnock Dundee and St Mirren made it with similar budgets.
DOes anyone think we would be punching well above our weight to get top 6? Mccall did it easily. As did Robinson
Would not be punching above our weight at all , Dundee just did

Liam Kelly won’t be starting the Euros also, not a chance, Scotland fan which I am
Been decent for us in the last 3 years but not for the internationals
-
Was quite happy to get a draw today , not happy drawing but at the same time it could have been worse
Definetly didn’t deserve a top 6 position this season as been far too inconsistent . To put a positive spin on things try and finish 7th , and play some of the younger players in these last 5 games

Interesting fact for football fans. Most people know that The Proclaimers are massive Hibs fans and that their fantastic song Sunshine On Leith is sung at games. But something a lot of you do not realise is that many years ago , brothers Craig and Charlie both worked as groundsmen for the club. They got the sack after players complained that the grass was too long and it ruined their passing game. The brothers blamed this on DIY store B and Q They went to Bathgate no mower, Linwood no mower, Irvine no mower, Lochaber no mower, Sutherland no mower, Lewis no mower, Skye no mower..........

After todays result no doubt the Govan mob will be fired up to get 3 points to prove a point which works in our favour
Potentially a great afternoon next Saturday , or a disappointing one . Quite happy for the time being to watch the Dundee highlights again later tonight , then see what happens

Well Well Super Well
Super Motherwell

Watch the rangers dictate and get exactly what they want on Wednesday, as that pitch will be even more unplayable after today.
Just what I was thinking
After 90 minutes on that pitch today guaranteed it will be in a lot worse condition after the game , even more so if any rain due
-
Shocking that we are having a pitch inspection again at 1pm
No consideration for anyone travelling up to this game
Final decision should have been made last night if we are playing at a different venue or behind closed doors

That’s as bad a game as I’ve seen in a while. Both teams absolutely terrible.
This was exactly my thoughts
Poor game , draw definitely a fair result

Good that Hibs drop points
Dundee and Hibs still got to play Rangers and Motherwell play both Dundee and Hibs
Good chance of top 6 still
Definitely top 6 still on
No reason why we can’t beat both Dundee and Hibs as I do believe not too much between most of the sides at all this season

At the time I wasn’t a massive fan , as I much preferred the 94-96 home kit
Looking back I think it looks better now than it did then
What a game that was , one of the highlights of that season
