  1. That’s my thoughts, I really don’t understand how destroying the confidence of any Motherwell player is a positive.
  2. I think it’s slightly unfair to call Lamie and McGinley “dross”. Certainly in McGinley’s case he’s shown plenty of glimpses to suggest he could settle into being a very decent addition, Robinson spoke about his abilities and how living on his own in a flat had effected him. Lamie has actually improved and been nowhere near our worst player of late. Given it’s still early and GA could easily have let Crawford and Mugabi go he clearly sees enough to work with and we have to trust him in that even if with a level of scepticism.
  3. That football in general these days unless you’re one of the biggest teams in the world. Even Celtic have been consistently losing their best players over the last few years.
  4. That’s pretty much my feelings. Personally I would not have retained either of those players although I get it’s a squad game. He has however stated he wants a smaller squad and as such that should mean better quality with less leeway for bad decisions when signing players, with the injuries this season we would have been in a dreadful position with a smaller group of players to choose from. Up to this point he’s done exactly what he was signed to do, keep us in the division. He’s not however always got things right and the squad he inherited is better than stated by many in my view, without the crippling injury list we would easily have made top six again and could still finish 7th. As always I’m a glass half full guy and I’m looking forward to what’s in store for next season, he will no doubt bring his own DNA to the table and that in itself is exciting, can’t wait to get back to Fir Park and chat with those around us again.
  5. If that’s the case he won’t be playing another game for us.
  6. Still the cup to go but we are nowhere near good enough to win that so for me that’s the win that allows us to plan for next season. It’s going to be a very interesting summer with a big overhaul but at least GA is not left with a large amount of players still under contract that he can’t move on. I’m expecting another influx of players we have never heard of from the lower leagues down south with no doubt a fair amount of grumbling as to why we are not signing established, quality Scottish players.
  7. Wow Dunne back, thought he may be finished.
  8. Personally I think we are already as good as safe, maybe a few others feel the same way which has led to the few posts on the thread. We would need to totally collapse and the bottom two gain a run of results neither have been capable of all season. I think both Hamilton and Kilmarnock have won 1 out of the last 13 games.
  9. In with a chance but of course Hibs away is always going to be tough, on paper they are always going to be the favourites.
  10. Polworth was excellent first season, not given near enough credit for the amount of assists. As with just about everyone else his form dropped this season sadly and he’s clearly not in GA’s plans so he will move on. All the talk of getting sent off on purpose, being a negative influence and the likes is just more speculation.
  11. If I was a footballer I would go nowhere near social media, not worth the abuse that comes with it. When I see the list list of footballers complaint about abuse I always think “ just close the account”. Yes no one should have to do that but it’s the world we live in, it’s going to happen.

Hopefully the better of the two players, summer will deal with itself.
  13. Really, looking from the outside being English I think he’s been excellent at times, certainly better than he’s been with us.
  14. Personally I would be very happy to see O’Donnell stay, think that would be a great bit of business. He’s shown for Scotland how good he can be when played a certain way and there is next to no chance of us picking up better.
  15. I doubt we could afford him, and let’s be honest he’s good enough to be playing at a decent level down south.
  16. I think he’s been ok so far, not however someone, along with Mugabi who I think will see us pushing for a top six again. We need players of a slightly higher level if the budget permits, given GA has stated he wants a smaller squad I would have thought it would.

It’s something that’s grown arms and legs on here and seems to grow further limbs on a weekly basis based on what appears to be zero evidence. At times I think people pick and choose what they want to believe in the media, at times they seem to be complete frauds and then the next the fountain of all knowledge. The club and player have absolutely no obligation to make any comment on a contract and I would be furious if my employers did so with mine. I don’t believe it’s as simple as denying or confirming anything, everyone has a right to confidentiality. My staff team are constantly making things up and when anyone asks about another individual I always say the same thing ( in a very polite and carefully worded way) that it’s none of their business and remind them they would not want me discussing their life to others. I’m in the position of being aware of details others are not aware of and that comes with a responsibility, that exactly the same with those running the club.

I’m pretty sure the club have said nothing a good few times over the years, it’s not unknown. Maybe when he’s away something will be said but for now they don’t want to rock the boat with relegation still a possibility who knows, time will tell. For me I just want us to put out our best 11, get to safety, then move on with a new squad and manager.

I’m actually not trying to stir anything up, just trying to understand if any of this is actually fact or fiction. I’ve personally not got a clue about the details of his contract, never seen it. I just feels a bit “ he had this”, “ so he did this” “ then he got that” so he’s obviously a terrible person and should be ostracised.

Which is the point I was trying to make. Lots of things are said by people that don’t have a clue what’s true, or not true, that’s just the way people are.

Just asking but has all of that actually been confirmed officially.
  22. A win percentage at Salford of 48.2% would suggest he was not doing that bad a job ability wise. I would have been happy to see Robinson stay and he was not my first choice but it’s difficult to argue with his record at Salford and Fleetwood. It’s way to early to be making any form of judgement in my view.
  23. Given his experience down south I take it we can expect another crop of lower league, English based players.
  24. Carson, Carroll, Lawless, Donnelly, O'Donnell, O’Hare. I would obviously keep Kelly, Gallagher and Campbell but they will be away.
  25. And I think that’s only fair. I have to say my expectations are set pretty low, outside of the old firm the football is poor with a low level of technical ability next to the top European leagues which of course is no surprise given the size of the population in Scotland and the limited budgets in the Scottish game. There was a time when Scotland was exporting world class players but that’s not been the case for a long time now and I don’t see it changing. I’m hoping for a rebuilt squad that’s hungry, fit, and organised, with players signed to play in their dedicated positions and not players that are seen as “ jack of all trades”it rarely works. I would like a far smaller squad with a continued emphasis on the young players coming through and the funding concentrated in that area. It’s better spent there than in paying large amounts in transfer fees because in truth you can finish midtable in this division by making astute signings for free and just paying decent wages. I’m optimistic about Alexander and think he’s done a decent job with points per game improvements and on the whole better performances with more stability in the starting 11. He will of course still make one or two dud signings in the summer, everyone does so he will need a bit of slack in that regard.
