  1. Regarding Hastie not surprised but I’m still of the opinion a return would be based more on his history with us than his ability to cut it at the top level. Any other loan player would be out the door never to return if their overall performances were on a level his were. Now Roberts I would consider ( injury permitting).
  2. I agree, I thought he was better than given credit for.
  3. Not exactly rated by many when last here so not sure how that would go down.
  4. Well it’s either a fantastic decision to give a 3 year deal, or it turns out we are stuck with a player for 3 years that we can’t get rid of. We should know fairly quickly when the season kicks off.
  5. I think to a degree Lang was unlucky. He joined at a time when confidence was extremely low and it ended up pulling him down. He was clearly not lacking ability and could well thrive again in the right set up.
  6. They must indeed, however it’s going to be a tough 3 years if he’s written off after two or three games.
  7. When was the last time we gave a full 3 year contract to a new signing ? Showing a lot of faith.
  8. I wish him well as always, not an easy task let’s hope he can make that step up.
  9. I guess it depends on that balance between wages and wanting to carry on playing in the Premiership.
  10. There are of course others that they want to retain but probably won’t if Premiership teams come in. There are always a small number of good players in any squad that have simply lost confidence and form after a poor season. I would not personally write everyone off.
  11. I’m not sure I would go as far as stating dross, the squad still has a number of players I would describe as average at best but the likes of McGinley and Lamie have shown they can perform and do a decent job. I’m personally not a huge fan of Mugabi and Crawford and would not have offered new contracts to them. Dunne at his best is certainly worth keeping but will he ever get back to his best ? . I’ve always stated the squad was never as bad as was made out, without the injuries we were easily a midtable team, I do however feel midfield could end up a major issue next season without two quality additions.
  12. I really fail to see what he’s done to justify a return. Maybe a perfect fit for Killy next season.
  13. Time to get Lafferty signed up.
  14. It certainly does, Fox came in as a back up and has never played and there are also doubts about Carson. I’m struggling to believe we will go into the season with the two of them. That’s taking quite a risk.
  15. I’m of the opinion that Long needs another club, he’s not really developed with us in my view.
  16. I know there is often a push on here to sign players from the Scottish leagues rather than the lower leagues down south so I would imagine a popular bit of gossip. As with every signing we make it’s a gamble, he’s fairly young but his record is pretty average and I’m not sure the snippets I’ve seen give a real indication of his ability to make the step up. Personally I don’t care where we sign players from, it’s all about finding those diamonds regardless of where they come from, for every Lui Moult there is always going to be a few who don’t make the grade.
  17. My guess would be Scotland caps and a move next summer for 15/20 million. I can’t see them letting him go to anyone for 7 million.
  18. No doubt a great achievement but a level of balance here, they won less games this season than we did and we supposedly had one of the worst squads in decades.
  19. It’s worth remembering that they finished on exactly the same number of points as us. And we had major injury issues this season.
  20. I would imagine if Killy go down a few clubs would be interested in Lafferty.
  21. I fear not but as you say we certainly need them.
  22. Not a midfield that’s going to see us upsetting the top six.
  23. Livy supporters just about to a man were sorry to see Lawless go and felt he had been one of their best players, he was a regular in the Thistle team that also finished top 6. On paper he looked a very solid signing and certainly one that could do a job.
  24. Well the end of a pretty dreadful season in every way, Alexander however has done what he came in to do. Without doubt we need some major rebuilding and hopefully won’t be seeing many of these players again although I’m still baffled as to why we’ve already given new contracts to players who I don’t believe are good enough. Midfield really does stand out, we started with one that looked really strong and ended up with one that has to be as weak as anything in the league. I won’t miss anyone that leaves bar Campbell and Cole and that in itself tells its own story. Let’s see who leaves, and comes in, other than that I’m deleting this season from my memory, totally depressing.
