  1. Not a midfield that’s going to see us upsetting the top six.
  2. Livy supporters just about to a man were sorry to see Lawless go and felt he had been one of their best players, he was a regular in the Thistle team that also finished top 6. On paper he looked a very solid signing and certainly one that could do a job.
  3. Well the end of a pretty dreadful season in every way, Alexander however has done what he came in to do. Without doubt we need some major rebuilding and hopefully won’t be seeing many of these players again although I’m still baffled as to why we’ve already given new contracts to players who I don’t believe are good enough. Midfield really does stand out, we started with one that looked really strong and ended up with one that has to be as weak as anything in the league. I won’t miss anyone that leaves bar Campbell and Cole and that in itself tells its own story. Let’s see who leaves, and comes in, other than that I’m deleting this season from my memory, totally depressing.
  4. A front line of Cole, Watt, and a “fit “ Moult would be just about as strong as any team outside the old firm but it’s a massive if and just signing Cole would be a major coup. A Moult that goes from not playing for two years to a regular probably even more unlikely. I would say it’s probably no more than a 20 to 1 shot it happens but I guess you can never write anything off.
  5. I’d be amazed if that happened.
  6. Maybe if Killy drop down he will be looking for a Premiership club ?
  7. It’s looked that way ever since he left us. I keep thinking with a decent season under him and with the right coaching he has enough about him to develop. However I still think he needs to drop down to the championship, get his confidence back, and go from there, the Premiership is now just killing him football wise.
  8. I think the thing to ask is if Hastie did not have history with the club would anyone want to see him stay ?
  9. Terrific gesture, we’re very lucky to have these individuals running the club.
  10. I don’t see us being interested. Alexander has made it clear he wants players that can play 40 plus games a season and as much as I loved Moult I would rather see us tie up Cole who I think is a far safer choice and someone who I think could easily improve. Maybe we could afford both but if Moult hardly plays a game that’s another season where we are relying on Cole for the goals, it won’t come from Watt.
  11. Given he’s as good as away I’m not sure it matters that much in truth.
  12. I can’t say I agree with that. I’ve only been Watching Motherwell for the last 4/5 years and I would put Kipre well above him in every aspect, Aldred far more dependable and a better organiser at the back, Hartley at his best also had better all round attributes in my view. How much he’s missed is totally down to who we sign, I don’t think it’s a massive ask to bring in a more than solid centre half which is all he was this season in my view.
  13. Hopefully they get it sorted and we move on. Time to get a couple of leaders into the centre of defence.
  14. I think it comes back to a smaller squad with a little more quality. With what we have already contracted for next season how many more midfielders are we going to sign, I think we need another two strong midfielders. For me if we sign Foley that leaves one other signing and if Foley then fails to start games is that enough when we are losing Campbell and Polworth. Crawford, OHara, Foley ( a fitness risk) Maguire, Donnelly (a fitness risk). I’m afraid that does not install a huge amount of confidence. A year ago we were looking at Turnbull, Campbell, Polworth, Donnelly.
  15. I would have major worries about how many games Foley would end up playing.
  16. I wish all our signings had been as solid as Gallagher, we’d be top 3 again. Having said that he will fade from memory pretty quickly after this season so I’m not hugely bothered.
  17. Frankly he’s nowhere near good enough to command those type of figures. I would take Aldred over Gallagher.
  18. Me neither, McGinley was judged far too early, a common practice. I feel he may end up as the first choice left back and should improve given time.
  19. It’s a big improvement on what we had and when it’s full of supporters it makes little difference anyway.
  20. Yep, I really don’t think it mattered who the other teams were, I just don’t think this squad were a cup winning team. In the other semis we had leaders, this team does not I’m afraid.
  21. I would agree with that, there is little to be frightened of outside the old firm.
  22. Bit early to be talking of relegation Shaka, we usually make it to half a dozen games in before that starts.
