  1. 58 per cent possession to well but we still allowed them 10 shots at goal and 18 touches in our box. Our record under JBA was keep.posession the other side can’t score but on 42 persent getting 10 shots away must be a worry. still we worked chances to win it and on another day could have got two or three goals. Still early days but would like to see a couple of new faces to strengthen the team and allow for rotation etc. hopefully no injuries and with some recovery work will be in good place for Thursday.
  2. No one knew. So don’t really have the squad to change much. Few back though so think it will be Paulson johnny -girdwood - Moorman- longelo would keep the two centre backs together for familiarity but look to bring on knight to give one of them a rest fadinger and priestman with sparrow and whyte as replacements cook Lowry and said with Vogt getting a rest for Thursday taking it Lowry is ok and maswanhise up front Whyte Ross and booth still look like we could do with a few more in but good that we are starting to get a few back from injury
  3. Anyone else likely to be back from injury? if not then need to manage minutes. Would take a draw and no injuries. Hope there was nothing lasting from last night injury-wise Some interesting decisions for the boss. With Johnny back what does he do with Sparrow who has the captains arm band? That might depend on how Lowry is. If he is injured then a 4-3-3 with sparrow into midfield? If we have a rested Said does he rest Vogt?
  4. Good result. Well done to the team. With all the injuries and a depleted team we did well. Fourth game and still getting players back or gelling. Onward to the weekend. Hope Fadinger Williams etc are available.
  5. Looks quite attacking but in light of all our injuries visa issues players left probably best side we have. Would love Cooke to get a goal. Am hopeful of seeing a good performance too. Cook Vogt and Tj to be interchanging with Lowry helping the midfield battle their three.
  6. Have we elected to postpone the Falkirk game due to the European games? think I read we can do that but can’t find it now
  7. This is maybe where our squad size is biting us. Midfield will no doubt be Priestman and Fadinger. Looked fatigued in the later parts of the hibs game. Meanwhile Helsinki have already played 18 games. Last five lost three won 2 and sit 4thin their league. Appreciate it’s a nice problem to have but hope the sports science guys are getting them ready for Thursday. looks like they use a 4 2 3 1 or 4 3 3. Though the game they lost there was a 4 4 2. Three in midfield then and use the extra energy of whyte. Said cook and longelo as a front three. Same 4 at the back.
  8. Think Helsinki have a few players coming through like us. Their under 19 drew with Man City 3-3. Think a couple of that team played in the earlier round.. they looked a fast team
  9. Great result. Think in terms of players out we lost more than Hibs over the summer. Especially in quality so to come away with the three points is very good. Great result but need more quality and depth. That’s our central pair had one game two yellow cards. Certainly feel that may well be a theme going forward. Hopefully get some bodies in before the next European game.
  10. If the loans work then brilliant but as folk have said it affects our model of selling players. Am hopeful that the loans are to assist with the injuries and possibly give some reassurance to the manager re size of the squad at this early stage but also maybe more confidence in playing the youngsters. Won’t know if these loanees are good though till they play. Hopefully adds to the quality without us having to pay wages etc beyond our means. If we do have 9 million I would hope that we are at least investing 2 million back in player signings
  11. That’s true but we need the bodies. We need the skill. We have some money and if these players are similar to Just and we sell them again for 6 million happy days. Agree that there are other ways to skin a cat as the saying goes but if we are playing the same way as JBA then a Just-like figure is of benefit even as depth in the squad if Lowry is the replacement. It’s also good as a talking point while we hopefully get the next few players in the door. 😜
  12. Interesting article https://www.scottishfootball.info/p/the-troubling-task-of-replacing-elijah
  13. Still think we need 4 signings one cb two midfielders and a striker. Takes into account McGhee o,donnell and McGinn are injured. And we are likely to lose TJ and stama up front with slats just and watt gone.
  14. Think it’s a positive step by the club hopefully another few in soon as the league starts in only 8 days.
  15. Nervous anxious and hopeful. C’mon the well! 3-1 to the Well. Cookie Fadinger and Said with the goals. This side will be sharp with good connections and a strong familiarity. To my mind the game for Said to give them a problem. Beat the first man and lay off a pass into the space caused as other opponents move to close him down. hopefull and positive
  16. I think what has happened with the seats being replaced shows two competing issues. One that the stadium isn’t fit for purpose in that folk can’t get up and down the row without folk cutting their legs and two has the decision and renovation of the seats led to a lack of confidence in any new stadium design? Dundee just released images of a face lift to their stadium and it looks good I’m starting to come round to a new stadium with new facilities Could even put in it fan zones kids stuff even conference facilities which the team can use or other stuff not fitted into the training ground facilities I will make up my mind though after I see how the training facility worked out As a side note what happened to the standing sections at the football?
  17. Any idea of how we played v Ghent? Same as under JBA or any tactical change?
  18. To me this sounds like Thor. Hopefully see more of him this year.
  19. Do we have any information on the injuries referred to?
  20. So we need then a goalie at least a backup centre back - lost Gordon and Welsh but replaced one with Moorman. Critical with the injury to McGinn and O’donnell being another year older. Felt our good defensive record last year was because we kept the ball so much so as we are likely to lose watt and have lost slattery. Will Wilson develop or will he have another year out on loan? 2 midfielder to replace watt and slattery bonus if creative. Would like to see Ross and Whyte get more game time but if we are to make inroads in Europe numbers would help. winger seems in the building already with Vogt but likely to lose tawanda. a creative/ attacking midfielder will also be needed if we lose Just. big years for Cook and Said Striker up front with losing hendry we need cover will stama be the main man? think we need another striker as at least a back up. Thor seems to be injury prone so need 6 players a goalie a cb. Three midfielders and a striker.
  21. Does the reliance on the youngsters in the second half show that we are lacking depth which may get worse if we are to lose Just Watt etc? think it’s good that he gave them a run out to see what he has but worryingly perhaps also shows the lack of depth.
  22. Any fees on these transfers or are they both frees?
