Those yes, but all the other league home games were still around the 5 thousand mark. I’m afraid live TV has put paid to big crowds at Old Firm games.
Correct.
-
We used to get 18 -20 plus thousand at mouldies games.
Sorted that for you mate.

I am not overly impressed with any of the usual suspects mentioned here. Hughes is tactically naïve.
What will get me interested will be an appointment of someone we have not heard of. McGhee, Gannon and Brown were all different. There appointments were refreshing and had us all guessing what their approach would be. And credit to Boyle I thought they were all successful. ( the football in McGhee's first season was some of the best I have seen and Gannon made some great signings)
1'st point. McGhee was tactically naive as well when it came to the crunch.
Boyle has done well in his last few appointments, no doubt about that whatsoever (coming from a massive, massive critic) Issue for me is, We, as a club and a support need 'Galvanised' big time just now.......... Last guy who done that was big Butcher. All for one and one for all. For me (anyway) 'Yogi' 'might' be the man given his previous work with youths, budgets ect. Scottish Cup final at Falkirk ? Europe ect. Stability is the only way forward for me (IMO) at the moment. Pick an ambitious' guy by all means, just make sure he stays a couple of seasons............

Jimmy Calderwood would be a disaster, he can fuck right off if he is even interested, please ffs stay away from him Motherwell.
Why should we all of a sudden want a manager of our club that we have slagged and given abuse to for years. He is a wee fat, tango bastard who hasn't a clue or he'd be in a job, and i would not welcome him at our club. We need someone different and none of the same old shite that we get linked with every year.
'Main' thing for me mate is someone who is going to stabilise the club and (hopefully) move us forward at the same time. Don't care if I like them or not to be honest.
-
Pretty much agree with this.
The best candidate mentioned so far by a mile is Jimmy Calderwood.
I don't know if he has ruled himself out in the last day or so but the last time I had the radio on they were saying he was interested in the job but wanted to be approached rather than putting in a CV.
Calderwood needs money to build bud. We've none....... I know you like your stats (check them out)

No probs,
Enjoy Yogi bigging up the town of Motherwell
I like Yogi anyway. For what it's worth I think he'd do a decent job at a club like ours especially in regards to bringing through young players and trying to play fitba in the correct manner. He's also used to working with a limited budget (Falkirk) & seems a fairly loyal kind of guy which we as a club are crying out for at the moment. The next manager 'NEEDS' to bring a bit of stability to the Ark. Press conferences would be top notch as well. That said, I don't think he'll get the job.

Is Yogi's interview online anywhere ?

Good thread this. Wish there were another few thousand like you guys, who've seen the light.

Are you fae liverpool
No. Pather !

Liked the wee pause before he mentioned him - kind of like it was hard to say!
Funny thing is, Most 'Dossers' I know were fully behind his 'alleged' long term plans for the club.
-
I noticed that in Youngs interview he mentioned every motherwell manager that he'd worked under except 1
Had a laugh at that mate. He 'even' mentioned Jim Gannon.

It probably would surprise most folk. £500 is hee-haw in this context.
Correct. Utter pish in my opinion.
-
Use Firefox. I don't see any adverts on the forum.

What do you propose to do if it transpires that money quite plainly and simply is not there? These decisions if true will be very difficult for anyone at the club to make. Who at the club doesn't know that the youth are our future.
It's easy for fans to say we need to splash out a bit more on players. Upgrade the stadium. Advertise. Invest in all sorts of initiatives.
But if there's no money to do any of this how the fuck do we magic the money?
If the money is not there - then cutbacks have to be made.
I take my hat off to the people who keep our club going day in do out. They do a marvellous job given the resources at their disposal.

No thanks. Butchers time has been and gone.

Scott Burns again (Express)
Craig Brown has NOW told Motherwell that he is leaving (along with Archie Knox).
-
New to this twitter thing. Scott Burns (Express) Last few posts.
Aberdeen are confident a deal will be done over the next 24 hours. After recent events they will not announce it until Brown has signed!
What about Craig Brown? Has he lost the plot? He has hardly covered himself in glory over the last 24 hours.
Is it just me? But where is the wisdom in swapping a team who could finish third for a team who are more than capable of getting relegated?
-
Spiers on Twitter a couple of minutes ago.
Quite amazing to think that Craig Brown, this warbling old duffer, might be on the brink of going to #aberdeen after all.

Club Statement
Wednesday, 08 December 2010
Craig Brown and Archie Knox
Motherwell Football Club today (Wednesday) released the following statement in relation to speculation surrounding Craig Brown and Archie Knox.
Commenting, Chief Executive Leeann Dempster said, “Given the fantastic on-field success in 2010, it is not surprising that other clubs are taking an interest in our management team.
“With that in mind, we can confirm that representatives from Aberdeen Football Club met, briefly, with both Craig Brown and Archie Knox yesterday afternoon.
“However, both have decided to reject any approach and reiterated their commitment to Motherwell Football Club. We look forward to continued success under both men in the future.”

100% Correct. Some of the SFL teams have an equal (or larger) fanbase than ourselves.
