According to the piece on the radio on Saturday when he came in , the club were 2 weeks away from administration. i wasn’t aware of that , although I hear people saying now it was fairly common knowledge. If that is the case we do owe Les a great deal of gratitude and he has offered very generous repayment terms, as well as matching the contributions with his own money I felt when he was talking on the radio on Saturday that he wanted everyone to know that he had played a major part in the whole thing , which can’t be denied.

Which club will take our Manager ?
Great Balls of Shire replied to Welldaft Mk1's topic in Club Chat
Gordon Strachan?? Wouldnt be happy with that .Its all about him and him trying to be funny or awkward at press conferences ......failed at Scotland despite getting two bites at the cherry .....give it someone who has something to prove , it’s all hypothetical at the minute anyway. -
Football has changed so much....I haven’t seen Sportscne yet but I thought it was a great attempt at a tackle ....don’t know how else he was supposed to try and tackle given the circumstances, just got to take these breaks
-
Dare say they’ve come on a bit but they got put out of Europe by a part time Welsh outfit, arguably the worst Scottish European result ever, so we shouldn’t be fearful.
-
I only watched the highlights but 3 of the 4 goals were down to terrible defending ....Sunday league standard. There have been Scotland teams with poorer players but defensively we are awful. We are in danger of making good players e.g Marshall, Fraser, McGinn, MacGregor, Christie look average because they’re not being played to their strengths i cant see big Dec being bullied as the two central defenders were last night

No Scottish team can match the attacking prowess of Welsh part timers Conners Quay
-
No, but he did mention social media and how if uninformed people put something in “print”, people then believe it to be true....fair point actually. He also mentioned how hoof ball had got them to 2 cup finals and you can only play with the players you have. He came across really well . Will be a big loss when he does go

Going on last few internationals if defenders like Cooper and O’Donnell are “international level “ then it’s not a great leap to give Gallagher a chance

Refereeing isn’t easy but having viewed highlights....how can the ref see that as a pen? There’s nothing in it. Was going to say that if it had been given v old firm , there be an uproar , but then you see the two pens Celtic never got v Hibs ....Refs don’t do themselves any favours with some bizarre decisions. I don’t think any of the above decisions/non decisions were particularly difficult

Hard to find too many positives after last night but Gallagher and Polworth will be good signings....have to agree with majority re Seedorf, he doesn’t look like he has a trick to get by a player.....maybe just pace.... Am sure Gillespie will come good, if not we have a pretty good back up Cant see too many more positives based on last night ......

Ticket prices for Motherwell fans at Hamilton Accies
Great Balls of Shire replied to Toxteth O'Grady's topic in Club Chat
From the statement there doesn’t appear to be an explanation why our game is priced at “premium “ rate....never seen a good game there yet.... -
If he hadn’t taken over when he did , we might have ended up in first division

Think that’s a key point, the debt should not be manageable .....maybe we can be a bit more hard to deal with now if clubs try come in for players. Like the man says tho, not attending and judging before a ball is kicked isn’t going to help -
No thanks , decent player but don’t want him atMotherwell...still remember the Charlie Mulgrew incident ....not clever.

If you’re pretty sure of relegation, you should get a price and get some dosh on it.You will make money , club will have their money.....win, win For what’s it worth I am sure we’ll be fine , possibly top 6. -

Entertainment is a very broad term. Were you not entertained getting to 2 cup finals? Also , there could be a few David Turnbulls coming through the youths for all we know .We all wish in a perfect world he could stay but the money could take us up a few levels. -
Need to look st the big picture I would be quite excited to get any of the 2 or 3 players mentioned in on loan.A year’s loan is just the same as some of the contracts we are handing out .....They are all highly rated especially Morgan, when he was at St Mirren. If he can add same amount of goals as DT , am sure you will see it differently.

I think it’s been that way for a long long time.....players who weren’t too fussed about leaving but “ encouraged “ to go if a good bid came in, not just at Motherwell. In an ideal world he would stay but the money they are talking about could really help , possibly buy 2 or 3 players which in this league could really transform us. Even better if he’s loaned back for a spell. The Dundee Utd scenario is , however, a concern, we’ve got to use the money wisely. -
Nah, the player we saw last year, especially at Hampden definitely had something about him.Time will tell if he can do it at Aberdeen. He didn’t seem to have a goal scorer’s instinct tho. Agree re Bigi , became a better player by not playing.

2018/2019 Game 35:Dundee (H) April 27th 3pm Kick off
Great Balls of Shire replied to daver's topic in Club Chat
After watching highlights , I am even more convinced it shouldn’t have been a pen, Ariybi is actually knocked over accidentally by the Dundee player onto the ball...ref should’ve just given us a foul , which would’ve been soft but that’s really harrsh to penalise Ariybi for that. Ultimately it didn’t really matter, I suppose -

Best to keep young Turnbull under the radar as much as possible -

I couldn’t comment on our penalty but I thought Dundee’s was really harsh on us ....he’s fallen on the ball and couldn’t get his hands out of the way .....anyway added to the overall entertainment, but if we were in a precarious position , I really would have been miffed. -
2018/19 Game 33: Rangers (H) April 7th 12.30pm Kick Off

I think it’s frustration on the part of other fans, in that it could cost the club money.....a 14 year old probably doesn’t get that Throwing a pie , isn’t going to hurt anyone, to be fair but the club have got to act accordingly in the current climate. Still reckon they’ve got too much spare cash if they can throw a pie away.
