  1. Personal view is Mugabi isn't an auto start - if he was he'd be playing just now. Keeper - find a way to retain Kelly - even on loan RM-LM - this won't be popular but I'd have liked to give Hastie a run in the team to see what he can offer. I also thing wing back could suit him. Strikers - I reckon Cole will sign - I don't see him getting a bigger club.
  2. Agree he needs more time. Equally he can be judged on his time so far. He's guided us to safety but leaves doubt with his tactics. I'd also question how personable he is as a manager - his pre/post match conferences are dull dull dull. As are our performances.
  3. absolutely - Partick Thistle is the right level for him. Hopefully there's no extension to his contract.
  4. Carrol had a couple of poor games and was dropped. Im relatively sure he signed a contract extension just before getting dropped. I think he's marginally better defender than McGinley .
  5. don't know why we brought on Lawless. Hastie had a big impact on the Morton game and buried his pen. With his pace he'd have caused problems.
  6. seasons over time to play some of the young guns and see if they're ready.
  7. Hastie would have been a better option
  8. this is the real issue. Defence, Midfield and Forwards all lack quality. We have 4-5 decent players, zero creative players and a bunch of benchwarmers
  9. it was due to injury he was out the Hearts team. Did well in his spell but not sold he's a first team regular .
  10. Jurys out - time will prove out He's led us to safety - tick Decent win rate - tick Brand of footy ? is this the down to players or mgr Ability to flex formation ? taken series injuries to move away from 4-3-3 Perm Signings. ? Since coming in his perm signings are S'OD. Carrol. Mugabi. Crawford. 3 from 4 are not names Id want to build my team around.
  11. the positives from today Formation - being able to flip from 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 works well Lamie looks much better as part of a back 3 S'OD much better further up the park We won the midfield battle. Long is much better as a front 2. I'll leave the negatives aka the second half
  12. great win Must have been the worst half time team talk ever. Stop pressing lads, sit back and hold on - lucky that Hamilton are so poor
  13. completely agree - its poor. We could have continued and scored another 1-2 goals rather than this dross.
  14. second half is incredibly disappointing . No urgency, Playing for time. poor
  15. Cole really needs to improve holding the ball.
  16. what a difference this formation makes for us. Much better
  17. thoroughly enjoy listening to Kirkie on commentary . He reads the game well and calls out some great points
  18. we've started well, much better pressure
  19. completely with you. This is the formation and players (who are fit) that I would pick. Enough to persuade me to shell out and watch the game
  20. 3-5-2 was the obvious choice with Roberts/Watt injured + we need to match them in midfield. Personally delighted to see a different approach
  21. Campbell deserves a move albeit Im not sold he'll cut it in the Championship, Similar to Stevie Hammel in his earlier days in as much he deserves a crack at a bigger team , broaden his experience and hopefully return back to us in a few years time to see out his career.
  22. Hamilton will play with a 5 man midfield and unless we change we'll go with 3 men, which will force too much of the play into our half and stop us getting the ball to the front 3. Easily solved if we go to 3-5-2
  23. recruitment is tricky and even the best managers sign people who just don't work out. Tommy Mclean signed some awful players but had the knack of moving them on quickly. Personally I'd rather try and find better Scottish talent than always going the lucky dip of the lower English leagues but appreciate it's easier said than done. Overall a smaller squad and use the cash saved on wages to bring in a better quality than we've had.
  24. truthfully I think Kelly is the one who behaves most like a captain. S'OD is pretty quiet on the pitch (As is Gallagher ) Appreciate giving a loan signing would be a bit odd , personal view he's a natural captain.
  25. This feels very similar to the Barraclough era for me. GA has come in and helped us to safety - snap Needs time to replace some of the squad - snap Talks about the need to work hard, blah blah - snap lack of willingness to change the formation or adjust during the game - snap Bit like when we stayed up people are happy to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he does next season
