It may just be my imagination but from memory at the start of last season we were getting some of our opening goals from the midfield, mainly from shots outside the box, which then meant the opposition having to open up allowing our wingers to get space and crosses into the forwards. This year - so far - this hasn’t happened so teams have been able to sit back and wait their chance - which with us playing so far up the park as we attack they will get one or two and as games go on we naturally become nervous and retreat into a more defensive team.

Lobey_Dosser, I’m guessing you’re to young to have seen McAllister playing for us. Both of them class acts.

Think from what he was saying they hope to use most of the transfer fee for Kent on a replacement with DT being a bonus buy that could pay dividends later but as I said just a rumour

No idea how true this could be but since we’re dealing in pure rumours here I thought I’d share this. Heard from a workmate with friends within Ibrox that if Kent goes soon then Rangers will look to get Turnbull for £3m (Staggered payment) + Murphy.

Why was Seedorf standing offside? Surly he should have been more aware and trying to get back onside rather than standing where he was? Ps not seen the incident yet.

Didn’t see the game but it sounds like we showed a great improvement, one question though, were we better because (unlike the other teams we have played) did Hibs come out at us which allowed us to play our own game or did we outplay them - if that makes sense?

Stream started well for me but last 15 minutes was very poor, kept freezing and then jumping forward. Also when restart it was so blurry that it was like watching the game drunk.

Wigan do seem to have been done over by their owner & I hope that the league take this into consideration.

From what I’ve read and heard, the best time for a club to sell a player is when they have 18 months to 2 years left on their contract. With only 1 year left it seems that clubs cannot command as good fees, so I’m expecting DT to be sold by the new year at the latest.

Understand that but thought it might be the reason why we have not signed him yet.

Although the transfer window is not open, Wigan are allowed to sell one of their younger players, Jensen Weir, with a deal for the midfielder to join Brighton said to be close. The administrators have publicly said there will be no fire sale but departures are expected once the transfer window opens on 27 July.” so it looks like we can’t sign him until 27th if the administrators / new owners are still willing to sell him. alternatively I think we will still get him on a year long loan

Takes Wigan out of relegation if they have 12pts deducted.

If as reported the transfer fee has been agreed and he’s willing to join us, it does seem a long time to get a medical done and sign him but maybe it’s not easy getting a full medical at the moment.

Like others I’ve only heard of him from older relations who all spoke highly of him. condolences to his family

Agree Andy but this year would be different with 3 subs senior players & 2 reserve/youth players. with not a lot of chances of game time this season (no reserve league and leagues 1&2 unsure if they will even play this year) I think we need to do something to help the youth progress in their careers.

Don’t think that we have forgotten the youngsters more like they are not ready yet and so we are spending to keep our position

If it is 5 subs I’d like to see a rule that 2 were from the U21 squad.

Totally agree with Welldaft in regards to the club being better run now but we are in need of a striker who can give us +15 goals if we are to have any ambition and I suspect that Lang will do that. Robertson will no doubt be wanting to cement our place in the top 6 and have a chance in Europe of at least getting through 2 rounds. Having chased this guy he appears to believe this guy is what’s needed to do that so I think the club must back him and show commitment to those ambitions with a realistic hope of getting a good return on this outlay. I’ve also no doubt that Kipre has told Lang that Motherwell Is a well run club and is a great club to further his ambitions.
