I’ve stripped your post down to the point I want to reply to as I agree with most of what you’ve said but on this point I’d like to give my view of what we could do. Tony Bloom at Hearts is showing that his model can potentially give him a return via a share of the money made from transfers and as such we should look for a similar type of investor willing to make a similar deal with us with preferably non voting shares like the Hearts deal - probably at a lesser level but still I’d be looking at circa £6M minimum for a maximum 20% shares coming not only from the society but also our private shareholders so between the society and private shareholders we still have 80% holding. A £6M investment matched by say £2 or £3M by the club would give a healthy pot for buying players over the next couple of seasons. With the clubs position on and off the park this is probably the best time to make such a deal. If no such deal is achievable at the moment then I think we should continue with the “organic growth “ that we are currently trying to achieve while continuing to look for a deal.

Loads of their fans at work have been saying he’s going there for the last few weeks. Hard to see half that Celtic team being willing to play Jens style of football and with DD in charge of the club I find it hard to believe he’d get the same freedom to run things as he gets here. In short I don’t think it’s a good move for him.

I’m a ST holder, phoned today and got a ticket for the Hearts game for a friend who’s coming up from Bristol without problems, just gave the guy my ST number and name and he sorted it.
-
Watching the game I thought that we had a decent shout - by the standards that have been set against us by the referees and VAR - for a penalty against SOD but it wasn’t even show, never mind discussed on Sportscene.

Hoping for a win but not overly confident. Here’s hoping that I’m worrying about nothing.

I’ve been thinking for months that he would leave due to there being no renewal chat going around and have previously mentioned it. I’ve believed for some time that he is intent on moving back down south so I’d be very surprised if he does stay up here. Although he is a great player and will be missed he’s a replaceable player also.

Happy that we’re another 3 points ahead of Hibs but not happy that Hearts won, 2 Hibs players sent off and 2 fucking deflected goals - spawny bastards.

Felt the same mate

Bit of a punt but not a bad shout. Although he’s never really proven himself at Rangers he has shown signs that there’s a player there but I’d think he’d be looking for more money than we could offer but you never know, maybe he’ll be happy with a smaller wage if he gets game time and is coached to improve.

Aye the phrase tainted title will be bandied about by supporters of the two losers no doubt.

MJC - (potentially enjoying) taking one for the team

I suspect what we will be told if it’s even discussed, is that the player on the ground didn’t make much of an effort to head the ball and didn’t move his head much so Welsh was always going to hit him on the head and as such shouldn’t have attempted to hit the ball. Not saying I think that’s correct just what we will be told as I’ve no doubt that they’ve all spent the last day thinking up a solution to their ineptitude and fuck up.

I keep saying this but foreign referees for VAR and an ex player to give context is what’s needed. Also if - as McGarry indicates in his article - Motherwell are being refereed to a different standard than other teams then the person to blame for that is Slattery. I’m not saying that the referees are right but if the article is correct then no cheating, no different standard. Personally I’m not sure it’s all down to the Slattery incident and more down to incompetence.

If he squares the ball it’s a tap in for Longelo, guys not a team player and is only thinking of a move but that kind of selfishness will put off other teams.
-
My thoughts are we sell TJ, Watt and Just have another 2 years on their contract so will be told to bide their time unless and mad offer comes in
-
Garbage is what we watched last season, ok we’ve been poor the last couple of games - mainly due to not adapting to teams pushing up on us and some slack passing - but garbage? Think you need to get a bit of perspective mate.
-
Great news, a great asset at RB & LB - Love his statement “I’ve got a big smile on my face,” Koutroumbis added. “I’m so happy to stay at this club at a time when it’s going in an exciting direction. Everything is in such a good place, and there is a lot of potential for us going forward.“

Looking at both teams next two fixtures where we have Falkirk at home - who beat us at home - and Hearts away - a very hard fixture, while Hibs have Killie home and Aberdeen away, so possibly we could go into the split ahead on gd, so 50/50 isn’t that ridiculous. Having said that I’m hopeful that we can get at least 1 point.
-
Just is the one I’d prefer we keep for another season but if a crazy offer comes in - somewhere north of £7M which with 2 years left on his contract and considering the points he could make us next season that’s not that crazy - we’d have to take it. *depending on money received for TJ.

The JBA pre match interview on a Thursday is becoming one of my favourite things to watch, it’s like waiting for your favourite tv programmes next episode. The man is class.
-
I’m not really familiar with Bodo, are there any other teams close to them or do they have a monopoly on fans within a short distance? That would make things easier - unlike us - if they’re not competing with other clubs to attract fans.
-
100% agree mate.
-
Agree with most of what you’ve said here including selling players when it benefits us best so I’m hoping that unless a crazy offer comes in for Just I’d like us to keep him for another season. The one point I’d question is that the Well society is pulling the strings here. Yes we have 2 board members on the club board but I think the biggest influence is the chairman although I do acknowledge that the society - and us as members - has set the direction by fighting off that awful attempt to take over the club and was instrumental in getting changes to the club board that has lead us to where we are now. what the society needs to do now is to somehow manage to increase the society’s membership numbers with new members and encourage back those who left after the takeover was rejected - hopefully this can be achieved but sadly so ex members I know are stubbornly refusing to agree even now that the result was the best outcome for the club.
