  1. Good result with decent 2nd half performance. Still a lot to do next week but definitely win able. pitch was horrendous and that’s being generous
  2. Really hoping that we can get something here and that Lowry has a great game to help him settle in.
  3. I’d think that the training regime at the moment would be focused on rest and recovery alongside tactics rather than full on heavy training sessions.
  4. Delighted with that result, a tight game but we got the job done although some of our slack play was frightening leading to the penalty.
  5. Sorry early morning hangover caused me to just post my thoughts on the score but more in-depth I think both defences have mistakes in them and both front lines have goals so I was predicting a high score draw. Both keepers are good and could have a blinder of a game which could lead to a 2-0 or 3-0 score but my thoughts are a high score draw. Not trying to bee negative just how I see the game. Either way I won’t be hitting the panic now and avoid the rush button.
  6. Priestman for me this week. Sparrow a close second choice.
  7. Team looks not bad, quite happy with that selection although I have to say that the referee is quite card happy and has given an average of 3.47 yellow cards a game so we need to be very careful
  8. He definitely comes across well in these interviews, talks sense and is well grounded. I’m impressed and have had a couple of guys at work who support other teams also say they are impressed by him, one even says he could be better than JBA if he puts into practice what he says in the interviews and that he thinks the players listening to him will take a lot of confidence that losing JBA won’t disrupt the team. Hopefully he’s right.
  9. If I’m correct then due to us playing on the Thursday, the game will be on the Sunday or Monday but if we get through against HJK - a big if I know - will it be on the Sunday or will the Scottish league screw us for money if Premier want to screen it live on the Monday?
  10. Although I normally agree or at least see the merit in your opinion, this point I have to disagree with as by the time the mortgage is paid off there will be upkeep costs that would potentially take up that cash. Not saying I disagree with moving to a new stadium and that it is wrong just don’t think this part of the argument is correct.
  11. I don’t know if it was sang before but the first time I heard and sang it was at Ibrox after the play off game and the rage of the Rangers fans as we were singing it makes it an all time classic for me.
  12. Don’t think that Spittal suits our present style of football, he’s got the skills but doesn’t track back or close down opponents enough and could leave us exposed. Turnbull - although I agree he’s a class player - similarly wasn’t fast enough or had the stamina at Celtic under the Aussie manager (can’t be arsed trying to spell his name) to play a fast pressing game so not sure about him. I’ll add to that the more obvious thing is that we’ve no chance of getting him on loan
  13. Went for Williams as he looked good when he was on the wing and probably because I expect Priestman and Fadinger to play at that level - although they both had a few stray passes which a better team would have caused us bother with.
  14. I thought Ewan had a decent start with us a couple of seasons ago but then had a few errors and regressed which I put down to his age. Hopefully he can get back to the form he showed to start with.
  15. Whit, they’re eating your dinner? I know we don’t pay a lot but ffs I’d have thought it would be enough for them to feed themselves.
  16. Apparently Gary Lineker was about to make a comeback with Inverourie grouse beater afc but the SFA said he’d get 4 match ban as well so the deals off
  17. JWFC, totally agree mate. weeyin, normally I’d agree with you also but even by their lazy/low journalism standards, for them to pick the low figure - one that I’ve not seen mentioned - for a player who is widely regarded to have been one of the best midfielders in the league last season is strange.
  18. Guy at work says the scum is reporting that we’ve knock back a bid of £1m for Watt. We’ve been hearing that we’ve knocked back bids of £1.7m for him so where do they get their low figure? Can we now expect them and other Scottish media outlets and pundits to be saying that one of the arse cheeks has offered £1.5m and we should take it?
  19. Do you know the club he’s going to, Samsunspor, Rangers or another?
  20. I think that he’s going for the degree but on a soccer scholarship. My mate did a similar thing in the 80’s, went over to visit him and the majority of the team were either European or South American some of whom went on to play in the North American league so possibly he has both options in front of him. All the best to him but as said previously he’s going to have to learn to speak differently
  21. Sorry but is that not what i said - or are you correcting my grammar?
  22. Alex Paulsen on loan from Bournemouth. 24 year old New Zealander.
  23. That’s good to know, possibly why the clubs relaxed about the up coming games as they expect - barring injuries - to be able to have Just, Watt, Maswanhise and Longello all available for a few weeks more. They’ve possibly also agreed not to play them in the friendlies we’ve had so far.
  24. I’m never relaxed about Motherwell at the start of any season but I always try to be realistic so my view this season is New manager with a tough act to follow, so I’ll be looking to give him at least the first round of league fixtures before panicking unless it’s obvious the players can’t play his system / the system is flawed / he’s lost the dressing room and he refuses to adjust. The third option would be as much on the players as the manager. We will need to see who actually leaves before signing new players, it might be that of those expected to leave no one agrees to pay the club’s valuation of at least one of then and as such some might have to stay until January at least which would help with the European games and the start of the league while any new players settle in - I get that this might upset the player/players involved but if they continue to develop then January could see them leaving where as if they take the huff and go backwards then they could lose the chance of a decent move. Bottom line no need for panicking
