  1. Leann, Sounds a good idea, and I will support this from 5000 or so miles/8 time zones away. Now, if you could also fix the restrictions that my ISP places upon me, that would be great! SD
  2. I, too was at the game and I agree that the goal must be one of the most relevant in the club's recent history. Was it true that the Club wrote to the Premier League to request that we played in our 'lucky away kit'? Sorry, I cannot access YT here and proxy re-routers not working for me at present. So, can't confirm we wore away or not; though memory says yes. Anyone confirm this or not? SD
  3. I think a direct quote from a Specials song; later covered by SLF, so this is cool as I think inadvertent..... Back on topic- Although Andy P's stats don't agree, Reynolds has been outstanding for our club since he got his first cap. His disciplinary record for an SPL centre-back has been first class; and I know he got booked by a wank at the w/end. Always been a fan of Reynolds, though don't understand why he hasn't featured more at left-back? I respect Gannon trying him in the holding MF role; the guy is left-footed, FFS! Just 11% of Europeans are left-footed! We're commenting that Scotland has problem left back position and we have problem left mid position. Why not move Reynolds to LB and Hammell into midfield? (Many comments that he is better going forward than at back. Look at Gareth Bale whom I think is still listed as a Left Back in the comps in the papers).... (Qualifier- 1230 my time; might be pish; might be typos....) SD
  4. Some interesting thoughts. My five would be Simo Buff Mio McKinnon Russell/Coops Also, surprised how few of the 1991 Cup Winning side appear. And, although I may have scanned through the pages quickly, no Lambert? Maybe that type of player- Makelele, Roy Keane, Steve McMahon who does the unglamorous very well, twice a week.....? Some interesting views nonetheless..... SD
  5. On that, Craig Brown went on record admitting that he shouldn't have played Reynolds when he was ill. One game. Ask me to go to work when I am ill and it will not be nice. There'll be 30 people watching, though. Not 6,000 live, plus live TV, plus repeat TV, plus Youtube etc..... One of the most consistent performers in the SPL when fit/not ill; FACT. And a great disciplinary record, too. He deserves his big move; if it happens. SD
  6. Dortmund kicked-off at 3.15 on a Wednesday afternoon; to suit German TV. Although we didn't have the boards then, this definitely pissed off a lot of our fans at the time. Nancy was at a traditional time and busier. However, I think there was a deal to get kids in for a quid or something. It was, of course, the McGhee days.....
  7. Been out tonight, and have not read the later posts. So maybe some repetition. I was one of the 'Albo 10' and in no way should I receive special treatment getting a ticket for this or another game. As I've posted on another thread, the chances that I miss out on Euro tickets are slim. Unless we draw (should we get through Thursday) Liverpool, Man City or Aston Villa- there is no danger that any 'Well fan should miss out. [The club has your details already]. Hint
  8. If we get past Aalesunds, I think there are only two teams that could cause a sell-out at Fir Park; Liverpool and Aston Villa. Italian teams barely take 2000 fans to Basel; just a few hours away. I think the Nancy crowds (albeit heavily promoted for youngsters), and Dortmund (scheduled to suit German TV), speak for themselves. Unless an English team, any 'Well fan who wants a ticket and has a bit of planning nous will get one. However, in principle, any fan who has paid up front should get first choice. I think that's both fair and normal practice within football. SD
  9. 'Flow, I posted last night, that we could do with some Turbonegro being played in Norway next week..... However, failing this, you can always get Turbonegro played at Fir Park; providing you fix the speakers in the East Stand..... SD
  10. Listening to the music that's on now, I wonder if the mighty Turbonegro will be played when we are in Norway.....
  11. I've been on Opera and it's been fine. Think it is having a rest at half time. Screen with club badges at present.
  12. The locals are certainly up for it. The arrogant, Mancunian asspipe doesn't appear to be watching; however he was wrong. Definitely a 'glamour tie' despite the quality..... SD
  13. Going to bed now; though feel I have to post something before I log off. Most of us will be aware of the phrase "there's (still) an elephant in the room"/ [Or a version of this]. Well, you've got the metaphorical (and somewhat literal) version of Raol Moat on your Forum tonight: As Nick Ross, formerly of Crimewatch said: "Don't have nightmares". You have been warned. Goodnight. SD
  14. The day after the Llanelli victory, the Club, apparently endorsed by Strathclyde Police, posted information on their website advising fans not to travel to Albania. Advice that, in hindsight, I would argue, the club regrets. Just to set the record straight. But, I'm not certain that the comparison is valid anyway. SD
  15. Finlay, Thought we had two really dodgy positions last Thursday; right back & left midfield. You've sorted the former. For the latter, if fit, I'd like to see Marc Fitzpatrick. No problems with putting Forbes on the bench; pandering to those who criticise his pace and fitness maybe..... He can come on, do a cross, and people can think it was a shot..... Do think it is an away win this time and the only clean-sheet European tie; 0-2 final score and 3-0 aggregate. SD
  16. Taking the Motherwell-tinted glasses off, I'd argue that Motherwell FC has done very well to be where it is today. The ground is around 12 miles from Glasgow and attendances are tenth in a league of 12. Despite this, and I've posted elsewhere on this site, we're the most successful town club in the history of the SPL. I wouldn't use the word 'doomed' going forward. I would use the word 'overachiever' looking back. SD
  17. My memory isn't perfect, however, I can't recall Mutley stating to the media: "Player X deserves his move....." as per Brown has done recently regarding Reynolds. I personally thought that was very odd; recession or not. Personally, I am happy with Reynolds seeing out his contract and moving on. I see the transfer money for Porter (£200k, I think?) and Quinn (£300k) very much being a thing of the past. SD
  18. Melvin, That's a good point that you make. I think the observation extends to the whole current squad. Other than Coke, was anybody else suspended last season? I could, of course try to counter-argue citing Lineker; however, he is English, a fanny, and gave up playing a while ago..... SD
  19. Also, Fraser not listed on the back of Thursday's programme.....
  20. I personally rate Reynolds a good bit higher than Paul Quinn, who featured in 22 games for Cardiff last season (don't know his injury history) in a team that was one game away from the Premiership. Add the fact that Reynolds is left-footed; only about 11% of the UK population are. So, I would argue that Reynolds can hold his own in the Championship. However, this place, as always is all about opinions. People are entitled to rave about Lasley and Fraser here if they wish..... Just my 5 Rappen. SD
  21. Don't know; however, Rudolph Hess was a Hamilton fan.
  22. +1 Ian-in-Oz: I'm 100% with this post & church_of_fudge. Everyone's situation is different. I am fortunate in that I have a job that allows me to travel and I used Airmiles to travel to Albania at relatively little cost. (Of course, I didn't wear the club colours at the game, so I rightly got the pish ripped out of me for my efforts). However, had Llanelli won, I still would have travelled. The reasons being the above, plus the fact that Albania was very much 'off-limits' when I was growing up. And I also have Welsh cousins, whom I stayed with after the away leg. If I didn't have adequate planning skills I would be unemployed and unable to follow Motherwell. I'd imagine that there are others in the same situation here, although I recognise that speculating about others on the internet can get people into trouble. SD

'Flow, Nice to see a wee dig at the Sheep in the programme. Oh, and a good read overall. SD
  24. Murphy for myself. With it being the first competitive game, I thought everyone got at least pass marks with the exception of Smith who just didn't impress me at all. And, even though he didn't have a great deal to do, I was quietly impressed with Randolph. Just the second ever home European clean sheet- the only other one against a team from the Faroes. Just my 5 pence. SD
