    Rangers

I'm with Special AKA on this one. You do see a lot more versus the TV and you are spared the pish from the commentators and pundits. I only vote on those games that I am at. Though I know that Andy P doesn't mind armchair voters. For what it's worth, Coke would have got my vote last Sunday had there been a poll. SD
  2. March 98 for myself. This was the day that the hvn wore their lilac 'European' strip which really was honking. I had my mate Aldo, a Liverpool season ticket-holder staying with me for the weekend and he was impressed from about 2.57 pm when the wolfwhistles began. Sally scored, though we equalised just before half-time. I seem to recall that we'd loads of chances to win it (might be rose-tinted specs), though in the end we did with Falconer late on. 2-1 final score. Apparently this was Kampman's first match, though I didn't realise this at the time. Oh, on another thread there is disapointment about today's attendance. This match was 2,500 more fans though NOT on satellite TV as far as I recall. My mate left FP very impressed, especially with big Buff that day. SD
  3. If it was a penalty save, then the stats are shite in my opinion.
  4. Official site versus Daily Record. A bit of a no-brainer, I would say.
  5. On other threads. IMO, some immature asswipes, tho I'm not arsed in checking out their profiles.....
  6. Totally agree. I've alraedy dropped Craigan for the same reason- two international games in 5 days. Must be the best time to meet the hvn- at home just after competitive internationals. Moan the 'Well.
  7. Melvin, That looks like your 1000th post and I have to say that I agree with you on this. I honestly expect either 1-1 or 2-2 on Saturday. I'd go Ruddy Moutaouakil----------Hutch-----Reynolds--------Hammell Coke-------Hateley------Forbes-----J'OB Sutton------Jutkiewicz Subs: Kosi/Craigan/Saunders/Jennings/Murphy/Slane (if fit)/McGarry/Lasley (if Slane not fit) Craigan dropped due to two tough international games in 5 days. (No one sacred under Gannon etc).
  8. Similar: Jim Weir was in my year and wasn't appreciably better than anyone else. He left to do a YTS at Accies whilst others took apprenticeships or stayed on to do Highers.
  9. Yep, Big Hendy, Alun & 'the 5th man'; Barzo. A few years ago, Big Hendy was asked on STV what his favourite football moment was. His answer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thoQBAOYkho STV footage no longer on the web, though I thought you would enjoy this anyway. SD
  10. The difference is Jim Torbett who was convicted of sexually abusing boys in his care. Also, I never heard any chanting other than 'Who the f*** is Mark McGhee?' at Llanelli. SD
  11. All, Like some of the others I felt he took the club forward and he did handle the O'Donnell situation excellently. However, he's now inferring that he was offered the Scotland job; this from the BBC preview. "I could have left a year ago twice. I could have tried a bit harder and walked out on Motherwell and got the Scotland job and I could have left and gone to Hearts, which was a fantastic job at the time." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8226515.stm What planet is this fucker on? I could try a bit harder with my guitar playing/songwriting I and could replace Noel in Oasis for the remaining gigs of the tour..... If he thought that the Hearts job was "fantastic" he should have left. Personally I think he bottled it as all the recent predecessors got frustrated with the interference from Vlad. RIGHT, LET'S PUMP THEM SHEEP THIS AFTERNOON.
  12. Might I suggest that this is a bit of a random quote? O'Brien had a good game yesterday and I have voted him MOM; however many who watch more games than I do admitted that it was well overdue. [East Stand rows J-L 90s]. Killie were rank yesterday. Their best player, the Morrocan #10 only got going in the last half hour. Whilst a welcome confidence-builder, an O'Brien MOM in these circumstances means very little regarding the big picture. Just my 5 Rappen. SD
  13. All in all, we've got a massive Coke oan the park? Ah'll get ma coat.
  14. Many good performances yesterday; Coke, Saunders, Hutchinosn, Forbes, Hately, Sutton all looked really comfortable on the ball and did what they had to do when they didn't have it. However, O'Brien gets my vote this time. Also, I thought Reynolds didn't do a bad job at left back. Is he our new Tom Boyd? SD
  15. The Flamurtari away programme looks fake in a number of ways though I just think this is symptomatic of the club and the Albanian infrastructure. Notable points on the programme: Motherwell is consistently mispelled; the first 'e' missing. Some players are listed who had left the club; notably Quinn and Clarkson. I am no expert, though it looks like the programme has been hand and not machine-folded. I'd be surprised if someone would go to the trouble of faking this item. Most of the ten took a spare copy; myself included. Cheers SD
  16. Has anyone mentioned Simo or Van Der Gaag yet? I thought Simo was a great player for us.....except for his shooting Cannot remember anyone better since to win most of the 50-50s and play a simple pass out of trouble.
  17. 1st August 1998- a 1-0 home win over St Johnstone then into Glasgow to see the delgados play at The Mitchell Theatre as part of ten day weekend. The first of many times that I saw that great band and I didn't know at the time that Alun, Hendy and Barzo were 'Well fans. All in all, an excellent day. Bumped into Barzo at Central Low Level after the 2-1 Sellic CIS semi defeat in 2006 and he was equally gutted about the manner of that defeat.
  18. Deliberately not reading anyone else's posts. Sutton Forbes Coke would get my vote. Sutton immense given the assaults he received on Thursday night. Forbes seems to be striking the ball well at the moment. Coke adds life as Joe Strummer and co sang in 1979. (1980 if you are American).
  19. Pat Nevin made me angry as he seemed to imply that Boyle had an infinate source of funds. I do think Pat talks a lot of sense with his BBC work now; however he was a complete tool in his last weeks at Motherwell. Also, didn't think he was a great player, especially for us. SD
  20. This was mine also. When they scored their second, it was like- "2-0 down to this pish?". It wasn't a surprise we turned that game around. 4-1 against the Hibees last year was completely different- they played us off the park that day.
  21. 'Flow, I've sent you my text written for the Comapny Newsletter, though it might not all have reached you. I'll send again when I reach the office Wednesday morning. Probably not for direct publication, especially as I am critical of the club..... Got some things I must sort out Wednesday morning, otherwise I could have perhaps tidied the article up. Taking Thursday pm and Friday off for the away leg is part of the problem. Regards SD
  22. One of his close relatives became part of the "Albo 10" afterparty- he was in Vlore on business. Hence my earlier comment "one or two"
  23. Respect! And if my eyes aren't mistaken, looks like there are one or two who are members of both exclusive clubs. By the guy whose Albanian flights (+ taxes) were fully funded using Lufthansa Airmiles. Not that it's a pissing contest, though I have to say that the Warsteiner oan Lufthansa does beat that Heineken kech you get on KLM.
  24. Absolute class that you have posted this. Growing up in the 70s and 80s, Hearts was always a tense game, caused by, I think a 'smash and grab' 1-0 win by us sometime in the 70s. Honoured that you have taken the trouble to register and post this. This is what football should be about. Plus, all of Scottish football will be relying on Hearts to push the coefficient up. Truly,
