  1. Irrelevant whatabouttery. Only Celtic fans rushed the gates and caused significant damage to the stadium at the game on Sunday. What happened at the end of the match does not reflect well on either side but it looks worse on Celtic because it was their fans who kicked the whole thing off by invading the park and goading the home support. There was always going to be a reaction to that from the Rangers fans. Just consider this scenario. We’re playing Airdrie at home in the Cup, their fans are in the bottom tier of the South Stand. It goes to penalties, Airdrie win the shootout and immediately a number of their fans jump onto the park, kicking down advertising boards and gesturing and goading the East Stand where the Well Bois are. What do you think happens then? Do you or anyone else seriously think that none of them wouldn’t retaliate by also invading the park?? Nah, neither do I. In that scenario both clubs should also be critical of the behaviour on show. However would posters on here be largely of the opinion that while we don’t come out of it well, had Airdrie’s fans not invaded the park and goaded our fans in the first place then the entire incident wouldn’t have happened? And would they be okay with suggestions that Airdrie’s fans were only on the park in celebratory mode and our fans who then retaliated only went on with the intention of fighting and causing bother? Because I don’t think that would sit well with me.
  2. Money is the only thing that matters in football, why do so many struggle to grasp this? The reality is that Robinson’s stock as a manager has never been higher. He’s won a League Cup and now a bigger club have come courting him who can and will offer him significantly more money. For St.Mirren though it would very much be a boot in the stones but fuck them. I absolutely do not want to see them winning the Scottish Cup and doing a double this season and losing Robinson now significantly lessens their chances of doing that.
  3. Rumours doing the rounds that the damage down to the away end by Celtic fans is so bad that stand might not be able to be used for Rangers next home game a week on Saturday. Celtic of course have previous for this as we know only too well given they have on more than one occasion caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to the South Stand at Fir Park and they’ve done it elsewhere too. Neither side comes out of Sunday well but Celtic deserve the lions share of blame and I would imagine talks are going on between both clubs behind the scenes on footing the bill for this before any statements are released.
  4. I’ve got zero time for Aberdeen but this would be an absolute hammer blow for St.Mirren to lose him just now and I’m all for that.
  5. I reckon we’ll need to score at least twice to take anything from this one.
  6. To get this back on track, I’d love to be wrong but I just don’t see us getting anything on Saturday. We are not clinical enough to punish them and while we dominated them at Fir Park in December, O’Neill has been largely able to instill a winning mentality in them. And of course we will be without Welsh which will be a big loss.
  7. Absolute nonsense. At no point have I ever tried to “minimise the awfulness of RFC”. I simply believe they are less awful than Celtic. You obviously see things differently but that’s my view. I don’t like Rangers and I find a lot of their fans to have a weird backward looking mindset but Celtic’s worst is is worse than Rangers worst in my experience. What happened yesterday would not have happened had Celtic fans not invaded the park at the conclusion of the penalty shootout. And let’s be clear, they did not simply “spill onto the park to celebrate” as is now being spun by them and their cheerleaders. They were goading and taunting the Rangers fans as is clearly shown in the many photos and videos from yesterday. In such a highly charged atmosphere there was always going to be a reaction and indeed you would have seen similar had that happened at an Edinburgh derby, a Dundee derby or even a Lanarkshire derby and don’t try and tell me otherwise. Attitudes like yours of “Ach it was only big, bad dirty bigoted Rangers, they’re fair game for abuse and goading” is part of the reason why Celtic get away with so much in this country and why they have in the past and will again do similar at Fir Park as they did yesterday. They never get the criticism and condemnation their behaviour merits because people can’t separate being criticial of them with being pro-Rangers. You don’t have to like Rangers, indeed you can think they are the worst evil scum out there if that’s how you see them. But what happened yesterday was caused by Celtic fans and there is no two ways about it.
  8. See? This is the nonsense I’m talking about with anyone criticising Celtic being labelled a Rangers fan. It’s laughable yet ridiculous in equal measures. I love how you completely ignore that I have already said on more than one occasion in this thread that neither side comes out of it well and that what happened, shouldn’t have happened. I will put this as simply as I can. If the Celtic fans do not enter the park at the end of the game then the Rangers fans don’t enter in retaliation a few minutes later. Neither should have happened but something had to get the ball rolling and that was the Celtic fans invading the pitch. I have said nothing there in support of or even positive about Rangers and their fans behaviour yesterday but the Celtic fans were to blame for the post match chaos.
  9. There are numerous videos on social media showing Celtic fans forcing open exits to enter the stadium yesterday as well as damage to seats, advertising boards and graffiti everywhere. Basically the same as they do every time they come to Fir Park but on a much larger scale. Celtic fans are the most self entitled, pig headed arseholes in football but because of their clout and influence in football, society and politics they know they will get away with it and they simply flip from wanting to play the tough guy and pushing everyone around to victim mode when anyone challenges them. As for reducing their allocation the next time they come here, that is a non starter because they will just do what they do even when they’ve got the full allocation - double up at turnstiles or else simply force their way in. It would also increase the likelihood of then buying home end tickets which then puts our fans at risk, especially if the game is a potential title decider as it may well be come the time.
  10. Apart from the Dundee game on Saturday which I predicted us to win 3-0? Or did you just ignore that one as it didn’t suit your narrative? Yes I am very much a Motherwell fan, a diehard I’d even go so far as to say. I rarely, if ever miss a home match. I don’t know how you can deduce from my posts that I am a Rangers fan as I don’t think I’ve said much in the way of anything positive about them, apart from finding them less repulsive and dislikable than Celtic but of course to many people in this part of the world saying that does somehow translate to being pro-Rangers. Especially to people who are obsessed by and consumed with their hatred of Rangers, like you.
  11. A lot of people are interested in what went on yesterday. Like it or not the Old Firm generates a lot of interest. But you’re right, this thread isn’t really the place for this discussion. As for Saturday, we will lose, nothing surer.
  12. I don’t know but even if they did it’s irrelevant to the incident at the end of the game. You’re just trying to move the spotlight back onto Rangers with that comment.
  13. What happened shouldn’t have happened and neither set of fans comes out of it well. But Celtic fans are the ones who caused the entire situation. They were first on the park, they charged towards the half way line goading Rangers players and fans and their players and coaching staff appeared to be encouraging them. It was inevitable that Rangers fans would react and that doesn’t reflect well on them either, but it was always going to happen once the other lot entered the park. People can spin it any way they want and indeed they will, but the evidence is there. There are several videos and pictures showing the incident that clearly show which set of fans instigated the entire thing. To suggest otherwise is basically like saying that today, Monday 9th March 2026, isn’t Monday 9th March 2026 but in fact Wednesday 12th July 2023.
  14. Neither comes out of it well, but what happened at the end of the game was Celtic fans fault because they instigated the entire thing by invading the park. Anyone who believes, or pretends to believe otherwise is deluding themselves and enabling Celtic and the control they have over football, the authorities and large parts of society in general.
  15. Celtic have previous for this as we saw at Fir Park a few years back. Hundreds of their fans jumping on the park, confronting stewards and players. They are out of control and can basically do what they like because the authorities are terrified of them and their club. But it’s the easier and ‘safer’ option to just blame Rangers, even when all the evidence points to who really is to blame.
  16. But there were considerably less Celtic fans in the ground than Rangers fans. So it was surely to be expected that more Rangers fans would come on the park in the event of a pitch invasion? And “a good number of them masked” in reference to the Rangers fans who ran on the pitch? So we just going to ignore that the majority of the Celtic fans who invaded the park were also covering their faces? Check the footage on STV/youtube and Twitter if you want. I’m not going to say much more. Other than…”Hello there, Hello!” to anyone who blindly and blissfully subscribes to the idea that “Rangers get everything”. Hiya, hiya pal (to needs to hear this the most!)
  17. If the narrative set by the media is that it’s mainly one set of supporters that caused the problem and someone speaks up to suggest that there were faults on both sides then what’s the problem? As you said, two groups, so why should only one particular group be focussed on more than the other?
  18. Mainly Rangers fans in what way? That there were more Rangers fans in the ground so it was kind of inevitable that if fans ended up on the park then it would mostly be Rangers fans?? Or should we just ignore that it was Celtic fans who went on the park first and had they not gone on the park then the Rangers fans most likely wouldn’t reacted and went on? Neither set of fans comes out of it looking good but to suggest that it was mostly Rangers fans and only some Celtic fans is just a nonsense. Because if the Celtic fans don’t go on the park in the first place the neither do the Rangers fans. Hiya Spiderpig, hiya pal 👋 😂
  19. We’ll get pumped by at least three. Bubble status: Burst
  20. This is the most sensible post that’s been posted on here today and it resonates completely. This season has been very good for us and we have played some brilliant football throughout which have helped bring about some great results. But ultimately it’s yet another very good Motherwell side who will have nothing to show for it come the end of the season. And this year it feels even more of a missed opportunity given that we had the team to achieve something while both Old Firm teams have had their worst seasons in decades at the same time. We will be waiting a long, long time before that happens again. And before anyone asks the question “ahh but would you swap our season of great football for St.Mirren’s season, however that ends up for them in the league”? then yes, you better believe I would because they won silverware and have tangible success to point to from this season while we, yet again, have none.
  21. Been a bad day all round by the looks of it. It happens but it’s a sore one to take regardless.
  22. No one has said we are rotten again or anything of the sort. The flip side of your claim is “here we go again, fans rightly criticise a poor performance and they’re wetting their pants and calling us rotten, according to some”. That was a dreadful first half and the comments on it have reflected that. It’s as simple as that.
  23. I think we’ll beat Dundee on Saturday. But to add some negative realism to the matter I don’t think we have any change of winning the league as we are too far behind Hearts and don’t see us getting anything away against Celtic on the 14th.
  24. Tam Cowan is one of the worst culprits of this and he’s a Motherwell fan. He spent the entire month of January on the radio basically trying to sell Maswanhise and just about every week states that he hopes Jens is “as far away from Scottish fitbaaawww as he can get” come the start of next season. Just shut up and enjoy it while we’ve got it ffs.
