  1. It’s a positive for us a as a club that we haven’t taken yet another gamble on Moult as the last thing we need just now is to bring in an injury prone striker who is untouchable with a large section of the support. No harm to the player himself, I loved watching him playing for us and nothing will ever take that day at Hampden away from us or him. But that’s all in the past now and there’s no room for sentiment. And for the misty eyed fanboys who were desperate for him to sign again… #Hey there you with the sad face come up to my place and live it up. You, there wi yer Moult top on what do you cry for? let’s live it up# 🎶 No one is bigger than the club.
  2. Yeah I’ve said it many times before but it would be absolute lunacy on turbo if we signed Moult again. Even by our standards that would be absolutely mental. The guy is done, crocked, finished. It cannot and must not happen. We need players who are able to contribute, not a guy who has spent the last five years on the treatment table.
  3. My head will probably explode if we re-sign Moult. We tried it last year, it didn’t work out, he’s done. We need to move on.
  4. Very true Though I heard a rumour today that we are looking at ex Hearts and Dundee Utd player Billy King, so that might tip the balance back the other way. (I didn’t really hear that btw, but it would be genuinely hilarious to watch some of the reactions to us signing a ‘Billy King’ just as we brought out a ‘sash’ kit. Some people’s heads would probably explode )

    New kit for 2023/24

You’re entitled to object to an amber sash if you feel like it. But to suggest that said amber sash somehow associates the top or us with the orange order is absolute unadulterated fucking nonsense.

    New kit for 2023/24

No. This below is just absolute bullshit. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
  7. These games are the perfect opportunity to give young players their chance. Obviously the main objective has to be to win the game but being realistic we have the strongest squad in the group so we can afford to blood our young talent here. For us as a club we need to be developing young players who can go on to make an impact on the first team so these games are the perfect chance for us to do that.
  8. It’s always quite a special and satisfying feeling seeing youngsters we’ve brought through to the first team making their mark. Hopefully Lennon Miller takes great confidence from getting on the scoresheet today and can go on to become a big part of our first team squad this season.
  9. We did what we had to do today so pass marks all round. We need to finish top of this group and hopefully be seeded for the last 16 so job done for today and on to Palmerston on Tuesday night.
  10. Another game, another must win for us. 3-1 this time.
  11. Delighted for the kid. Our youngest ever goalscorer?
  12. Can’t argue with that. Obika will never do and cannot be relied upon to get goals. We need to address this asap.

    New kit for 2023/24

Sadly I think we’ll see it worn in most away games this season, except ironically against Aberdeen and Hearts, the two sides in the league who we would usually change against. I also think it would look better with white shorts. And the back looks too much like last seasons home top, which I’ve still got PTSD over.

    New kit for 2023/24

It was brought out as a 3rd kit that season as we already had a white away kit out. The first game was abandoned at half time due to heavy rain and in the replayed game Gilles Rousset was sent off for them. Lee McCulloch scored our first that night and he was actually linked with a move to Hearts for £1M. Crazy stuff!

Memories of beating Hearts with a last minute Pat Nevin winner wearing that kit.

    New kit for 2023/24

Common sense like that will never catch on with some people in this part of the world I'm afraid. I've said this before but there are too many people, not just in our support, who's hatred and obsession with Rangers overrides their passion and love for the club they support and it's pathetic. The irony is that it's usually these types of people who shout longest and loudest about how much they dislike Rangers and want their club to be nothing like them, free of any connection with them, yet at the same time they can't help themselves but bring Rangers info the equation no matter what. Some of the responses on here and on social media to the away kit reveal are the prime example of that. We release a kit which is claret with an amber diagonal band, not a sash, and you get some wahoos bubbling about how it somehow makes us have a connection to the OO/Rangers. That's one of if not the first things they think of when seeing a new Motherwell kit for the first time. As I said, absolutely pathetic. You'd think we'd brought out a black kit with two diagonal orange bands that meet in the middle complete with white gloves and a bowler hat.

    New kit for 2023/24

Well don’t associate an amber diagonal band on our change kit with the uniform worn by orange order marchers which actually looks absolutely nothing like the design on the kit then. YOU are ‘associating’ it with an orange order sash with that nonsensical attitude and outlook.

    New kit for 2023/24

It’s not just Old Firm fans though. some Motherwell fans are dribbling out similar nonsense, on here and Twitter. And as ever what these folk who bang on about “not wanting anything that makes us look associated with Rangers” are missing is that by having that kind of attitude and coming out with that kind of talk, THEY are the ones bringing Rangers/bigotry etc into the equation and thus giving them far more recognition and relevance than they deserve. Whatever kit we bring out has absolutely fuck all to do with Rangers or any other club, but these folk just can’t see it and are too busy obsessing about them and pacing the floor at night thinking about them no doubt.
  19. That’s not what I’m saying atall though is it? What the manager was, or appeared to be referring to was players who were completely out of the picture and had no future at the club. Danzaki, Aitchison being the obvious ones. Then you throw in McKinstry (a loanee who was always going to return to Leeds) and Shields (who was loaned out in January and clearly isn’t in the managers plans). I think it was obvious that the manager had identified who was going to feature for him and who wasn’t. Danzaki wasn’t in contention for a start ahead of Miller, Cornelius or Obika towards the end of last season. To give just one example.
  20. Okay. I’ll rephrase it then. If we are terminating the contracts of individuals who are being embursed to make a material effect for the club on the field of play but are sadly falling short of that expectation for whatever reason which may or may not be any fault of their own, then I think we are displaying prudence and sound judgement. That better?

Good at detecting sarcasm are we?

    New kit for 2023/24

I completely agree. And on a serious note I think this is a braw kit and a lot nicer than our previous claret effort in 2018. If anyone takes a dislike to this purely because it has ‘a sash’ and somehow they associate it with Rangers and OO bigots then they need to take a good look at themselves, imo.
  23. We sign players to play football. If they aren’t playing football, for whatever reason other than being injured then what are we paying them for? To train well? To sing songs and dance through the meadows? If they are not going to play then we move them on and that’s what the manager said yesterday. But yes, let’s leave it at that.
  24. We’re a football club. If we have players on our books under contract who are not playing games or likely to break into the first team then they are stealing a wage, end of story. It might not be a nice or ‘PC’ term for it, but that’s what it is.
