With Electricity prices going thru the roof should we be requesting midday kick-off's to save electricity costs of floodlights coming into this winter?

I would argue that we (decent members of society) should be campaigning to bring down the corrupt government at Westminster before we start to revert to an early 20th century lifestyle to mitigate impacts of cost/shortage. Scotland is a net exporter of energy, yet we are shafted. The solution doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out.

Graham Alexander could break into your house and you would blame the folk that fitted the locks, or the Motherwell support for it. He clearly could do no wrong in your eyes so no point arguing about it.

What I would say is that it is nonsense to suggest that the fans forced him out. He came to a mutual agreement with the club to leave after overseeing two of the worst results in the clubs history. There were no protests outside the Main Stand or chucking season tickets on the park, just some of the fans who forked out to travel to Sligo giving him deserved criticism for that debacle. The next day he met with the board and off he went.

    Correct.

  3. We are completely hamstrung by the mess left by Alexander. It’ll take 2-3 windows to get past his legacy of shit.

Our attacking options rely solely on KVV, so we need to sign a first team striker to start playing with him immediately. Otherwise, we will remain blunt and toothless. My assessment:

Morris is woeful. Send him packing back to Alexander.

Efford is complete mince. Get rid.

Shields is into year 2 of his 3-year deal, and is evidently not good enough for this level.

Tierney needs game time, but isn’t good enough to start or affect games yet. Send him out on loan until January.

Mahon is a boy, not a first team player.

We also need a commanding centre back and a controlling midfielder.

Did I mention that I hate Alexander? An arrogant imposter of a manager.

Would like to see Efford kept on, there’s a player in there somewhere. This attacking football we are playing all of a sudden will suit him. Not necessarily as a starter, but to come off the bench and run at tiring full backs for the last 30 minutes.

Efford isn't good enough for this league. He's part of the Alexander generation and we have moved beyond that.

  5. I cannot like Livi due to their atrocious plastic pitch, but I remain impressed by how much they punch above their weight. Notwithstanding, as the game is at FP and now that we seem to have figured out how to play football under Hammy, I think we should win this one. We should be ending next weekend with 9 points from 12.

Yesterday definitely alleviated some fears but it’s quite clear that we need some quality additions (and hopefully some going out).

5 additions needed IMO - We may only have the budget for 3 quality additions.

first choice left back - If we need to use cash elsewhere, let's stick with SOD

first choice Centre half - Should be the priority and will play beside Lamie; Sol and Mugabi are not good enough

first choice striker - Should be the next priority

first choice winger - Wouldn't it be nice

squad player central midfielder - Blood youth on the bench instead

If we can move on ojala, Mcginley, efford and one-legged Morris that would be great thanks - These four, at least

I've added my tuppence-worth in bold above.

We did the right thing by him by giving him a testimonial match despite him playing about 60 games, because of his injury, but he still feels the club owes him something. I'm sure he was whining about not getting a coaching job at one point, despite him not being a coach and doing nothing in football since finishing with us.

    Not according to a 2008 interview (http://www.motherwell-mad.co.uk/feat/edx1/colin_oneill_speaks_to_firparkcorner_412896/index.shtml):

    Did you ever consider coaching/management?

No, it's not the same. I used to be sick pre-game but being a manager is just not the same atmosphere. I'd rather be out there chasing people and getting involved rather than watching from the sidelines.

Seems he's more annoyed with the SFA and lack of support from them after his retiring, and that has translated to him taking his feelings out on the Club (https://m.facebook.com/Colin-ONeills-fight-for-equality-within-SFA-English-FA-623274267809016/)
