If you add him having an improved January transfer window to that, then he's earned a new contract.
-
If he steers us to a miserable 10th, avoiding the playoff, I’m pretty sure the new regime at the top (whoever that is) won't renew his contract in the summer. He’ll have our thanks for the rollercoaster and we’ll hopefully employ someone with a bit more experience.
-
Easy. Bair could've had at least 4 goals today.
-
When Slattery came off the bench today he quickly reminded us why he was dropped. The best thing he did was rush them and get the ball booted into his face. Hope he's okay though.
-
We thoroughly deserved the win, and Theo fully earned the MOTM award. I expect more of this from now on, so hats off to him today. The third goal was classy. Livi were shit and there for the taking, and we thankfully smashed through them quickly. The second half was horrendous crap, but getting the job done in the first half for once saw us cross the finish line comfortably in the end. Phew. We should've won today (on paper anyway), so let's not get carried away. I also think Kettlewell is safe now, regardless of the Hibs result, so let's hope he doesn't fuck up another transfer window.
-
Yep. This formation is clearly the last throw of the dice from Kettlewell. It's got nothing to lose written all over it.
-
2 midfielders? Jesus wept.
-
You're right about the players not seeming to have downed tools like they seemed to do under Hammell, but pinching the odd draw here and there still isn't good enough. We've not won in 15 games, and the manager hasn't been able to affect any meaningful change. That form is ridiculous, whichever way you frame it. While different in detail, both managerial stints have led to the same outcome thus far.
-
And Kettlewell's stint is following a similar trajectory as his managerial skills are, at present, failing to arrest a terminal decline.
-
If good man management has led us to the dizzy heights of 15 games without a win, I hate to think what bad man management would have led to.
-
Fake news? He's directly quoted using the word 'fluff' in response to the fan view that the game is a six-pointer, so I don't think it's 'fake news' or disingenuous for the journo to have used the headline, 'It's all fluff': Motherwell manager downplays Livingston six-pointer chat.
-
According to Kettlewell, the almost unanimous concerns and assertions of the fans represent 'fluff'. https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/24015370.motherwell-manager-downplays-livingston-six-pointer-fluff/

Yet another interview to file under the verbose platitudes of pish category.
-
If we cannot get a much-needed win at home against our direct relegation rivals, which would take us to 16 games without a win, I would suggest that no manager deserves to remain in the job following that, regardless of whether replacement options are lined up.
-
Livi will dig in and make this very difficult for us. Although they've been shite, our poor form should give them confidence that they can take at least a point back to the Spaghettihad. And if they get that point or three, Kettlewell should be finished.

Game off.

It's 100% not a free hit, but fuck it. Kelly SOD McGinn Mugabi Blaney Davor Spencer Spitall Slattery Gent Mika
-
Mika needs a strike partner to be signed in the January window. In the meantime, here’s my thoughts on our other ‘strikers’: Bair is never a goalscorer but has some good attributes that could become useful if he's properly coached to play in a different role, such as a foil for the striker or a battering ram. Obika has a chest that occasionally attracts the ball like a magnet, but there's not much else about him, unfortunately. Wilkinson is a semi-pro 6-yard box poacher at best. Shaw is something but I'm not sure what that is yet, although it's not a striker.
-
Given we've not won a game for almost one-third of a year, anything less than 3 points will be unacceptable.

It's not shite, and Merry Christmas!
-
The last thing we need right now is more of the same. It's just not working and it's very clear that he can't turn it around.
-
Let's be honest here; he's not getting sacked around Christmas. If it happens, it'll happen in the new year and, hopefully, before the transfer window, as I wouldn't trust him and Daws not to piss away our meagre budget on other stupid projects and crocks.
-
When you look at the past several months, I'm afraid to say that the buck does stop with the manager. It's his job to train and set them up, and if he can't get them to work hard and do simple things like track runners, for example, someone else might. He and the players have had umpteen chances to prove themselves, and they've collectively failed, but we can't sack the team.
-
Useless. We gifted them 2 goals and didn't lay a glove on them. Anyone who thinks this team and manager will gain 4 points out of the next 2 games hasn't been watching for the past several months. Kettlewell should've been out the door a while ago as he's shown that he doesn't have what it takes to get a tune out of this shower of absolute shite. The only thing that should save us from going straight down is that Livi are worse.
