I thought in the first half we were goading them in a little to create fouls and to get control i think from 1-0 it was all us. Think if kilmarnock keep playing as they did today theyll have a great day out to Ayr beach to look forward to next season

Weve done better than i thought we would last january or february i was so disenchanted with the board and the football on the pitch. I genuinely thought we were on a rudderless dinghy. However glad that the refreshed well society and board have proved me wrong and am delighted with the teams current play and long may it continue

Happy days. Eh. Hope we get a win with a good performance but will have to see how goes we have to get a win sometime against them why not tuesday. Mon the Well

League Cup Semi Motherwell v St Mirren 1/11/2025
Throughthelaces replied to grizzlyg's topic in Club Chat
Congrats to st mirren glad to see them win a trophy and to beat the best team in the country in the semin then go tp the final and then beat celtic to top it off is some going. We will have our time if youre a st mirren fan i wreckon youd be jealous of our record for staying in the top division -
I was honestly so disconnected from the club and playing squad in January that attending matches was more an obligation than an enjoyment. Fast forward to Askou and I'm in love with us again.

League Cup Semi Motherwell v St Mirren 1/11/2025

Think as well we played 3 games in 7 days and we've not a lot of rotational options so I think some players were just shattered. Losing is fine it happens not happy about any loss but cam accept a loss but to go to a semi final and be hummed 4-1 is atrocious and our defence needs serious serious work still. -
I sometimes lose hope there's good I the world then reading someone has paid to meet Kettlewell and wound up meeting JBA it reminds you......good things do happen

Thought we played well at the weekend attended after a surgery last week so the standing wasn't great but found a seat near the pitch which gave me a great view of our goal so all good. What really impressed me was that we've altered our tactic slightly to suit the players available or at least looked that way on another day we'd have bear aberdeen by more than one but glad we got over the line if we can get it over the line again on Saturday it'd be a fantastic return. Bit were off to hampden again

Outside of the carry on after Kettlewell left I think we have done a better job. Don't get me wrong we completely mishandled it but outside of that done a fine job.

If we've signed Welsh it's a fantastic piece of business for us young enough to develop if we can keep him fit.
-
Actually just going to bed after that thanks ward.

I've never wanted to give a team a hammering more than I want us to stuff killie

Good signing from us today hope he cooks for us while he's here. I would like to see at least one CB join the club soon and in an ideal world one more body in midfield to help us with rotation and injury cover. If we get that this will be our best summer in a while. Seen some folk talk about Nicholson and Robinson earlier I'll just throw my 2 cents in Nicholson id say get him through his injury and loan him out. Decent player when fit but the move here's not worked for either party. Robinson i would like to see him in the team I honestly forgot he was our player until I seen his name on the programme last week when looking for names of youngsters who came on at st Johnstone. Stuperavic I'd like to see play for us when fit if I remember right was a horror tackle that injured him at Morton? So jury's still out on that one.
-
Didn't mean we should I seen someone earlier saying it looked likely I was just stating if we do move him on Wednesday should find a replacement who's sellable for a profit. Not hey let's move him on for the sake of it.
-
If we move Haliday on let's make sure we get a younger replacement
-
Again in my time watching us which is really only since 2013. Worst for me is hands down Mark McGhee. The press conferences how he treated the support. Just an arse of a man. Best Stephen Robinson two cup finals and brought stability to us re invented how we played a few times so clearly a talented manager unlike his successors so far.

I think ticket sales will pick up closer to the weekend -
What should the Club do with Lennon Miller transfer money
Throughthelaces replied to El Grew's topic in Club Chat
Sign a couple players for now. Upgrade training facility save some for emergency -
Great if the club can now sign a couple more players that'd be great. Glad the miller deals gonna be done. Took a bit longer than I'd have liked but such is football
-
Decent point thought we just lacked that final ball today but lots of positive build up and good possession. Will take a draw and a clean sheet.

Like your guys who maybe aren't the most technically gifted players but they work their socks off. Think the likes of Grimshaw, McHugh and the sorts I tend to prefer these guys to say a KVV who had a good few months he couldn't stop scoring but spent a lot of time at Motherwell standing around the pitch just pointing and not getting stuck in as frequent. Jed do it but wasn't consistent with his application
-
That is true as well
-
For us I thought Fadinger was great. I also want to say for St Mirren nothing was getting past gogic think he won every header and every challenge that came near him today. Outside of when Maswanhise got by him but couldn't get it forward.
-
I agree like for me in my time Hartley and McHugh make my list as well as Hammel. For me Hartley is probably the best player I think I've seen at Motherwell. I acknowledge we had aldred who was fantastic in his own right shortly after Hartley. But the pair couldn't play well together. I think welas the 13/14 season I started coming regularly to games so my reference point isn't as broad as some. But I do favour the hard workers so I find these types of posts interesting

I'm it's interesting seeing everyone's list I'm a bit younger and my best 11 would only go back 16-17 years so I feel mine would look so out of place here compared to some of you guys. I'm also fond of a hard worker or cult hero ask my friend who gets the fear when I mention some of who I think some of the better players we've had are.
