Feel we watched a different Lamie if you think he did 90% right he was a bombscare

Don't think it's just injuries its sticking with guys who are out of form or should be rested. If I was the manager I'd tell Wilson he's out the team for the next few weeks as I'm sorry but his performance was one of the worst I've seen in a fullback since straker playing for us yesterday. I'd said within 10 minutes of play I'd take him off the now. Sheer basics not being done for his position. Tactically what was our gameplay against hibs? It seems our game plan was in football manager terms sit with a deep line and play for set pieces. Are hibs really that much better than us that we can't have a go or try to impose ourselves a little. Slatterys free kick was our only positive highlight in 90 minutes we were dreadful. Also I would love to hear Kettlewell on why he went with Jack Vale over Maswanhise as he's been our best attacking option all season and when we play him up top he has a bit of skill and can get a shot off. Stephen odonnel sold the Jersey within 10 minutes of us getting a way back in the game. I mean utterly pathetic from a player of his experience. Yesterday can be summed up as dreadful and every player on that pitch should hang there head in shame for how they've performed since the turn of the year. I'm not scapegoating just pointing out how absolutely awful we were and the negative tactics don't help matters

I think for me under Kettlewell it feels like we never really get going under him. Okay injuries happened but all clubs get them. But it feels like we are such a poor side to watch. Like against his withing 20 minutes I'd remarked to my friend weve had a good day to the football before the football happened. It's not just the last 4 games where we've oozed poor outside of a total of 48 minutes of football 45 against Aberdeen and 3 against hearts at the tail end. Outwith the games against Hearts in August, 4-3 against united and 2-2 with rangers I would be lying if I said I can even see what we're tactically trying to do. When he first took over he was excellent that run was as good a time watching motherwell as I can remember and there were points last season we looked good when Spittal and Bair worked a good partnership. I'm not saying we have to have long waves of sweeping attacks every week but a bit of gumption would be appreciated. It shouldn't take 50 minutes to get a half shot against our opposition in any game of football we play in.

Motherwell v Rangers League Cup Semi final Nov 2/3
Throughthelaces replied to TheoBair14's topic in Club Chat
We absolutely shat it. Our second half performance was terrible, absolutely turgid the basics not even being done right the odd time we got forward no one’s there to take a pass or to relieve pressure on any of our forward players so disjointed. When rangers had the ball at points we would have 4-5 players not marking or trying to cut off passing lanes. We beat ourselves. Shambles today. That being said our players and manager did well to get us to this stage of the cup I’m just disappointed we didn’t give a better account of ourselves over the 90 minutes but Kaleta is a baller and has had consistent pass marks from me for the last 3 games. Wilson equited himself well today I thought. -

Think we all are -
Glad we’re back to real football this weekend can’t stand international breaks but hopefully another week of training and rest has us better and hopefully another 3 points here before we go on to give Brendan and his boys a lesson next week. COYW

Not to move. We have a really interesting ground I like for park it’s definitely got some character to it. I’d rather be at fir park than anything resembling airdrie or st mittens ground which is what we’d end up with if we did move

i may have got a little excited but it’s hard, we don’t get to quarters often these days.

We need to hope that the kettle has us on full boiling point so we can give the Aberdeen team a right good scalding. in all honesty I’m expecting this to be a good match hopefully a good result for us as both us and dons are in good form and a win against them would have the confidence flowing before a big league cup semi next week.

I hope we win but unfortunately I’m on holidays this week so I’ll be unable to watch the match. But hope for 3 points

Went along to the AGM tonight missed the financials at the start due to busses being cancelled at the town centre but from what I seen and heard I liked the sound of it. It

You mean stam ateanoctapus?

Oh definitely. I’ll admit I didn’t like Alexander’s brand of football but I’m also realistic about where we are as a club at the moment and what success right now looks like. I’m very minded to just be fair about things and I don’t think it’s fair to put all of the blame all the time on the manager. There’s obviously times where yes we’ve needed to change and it was necessary but we’re not there at this moment in time.

I went along yesterday he came across well. Was an interesting one the 90 year old gave a good laugh to me. I think the partick performance was very poor and bad but not the worst day in the clubs history as he’d stated I can cast back to a few worse in my decade following us. kettlewells done an acceptable job he comes across well. I sometimes wonder what folk want him to do when things don’t work out he said he’ll take accountability but ultimately the players have to take some accountability too. For me outside of SOD and the keeper there isn’t one player who got pass marks at the weekend. I think once some of our injuries return we’ll be alright. I’m expecting to finish around 7th this year but if we start closing the gap on top 6 that’s progress for me.

L CUP Motherwell v Partick Thistle 28/07/2024

I’m concerned for this season now. I’m not normally the type who hits the panic button but I’ve seen 3 of our 4 games and yet to see much improvement on our frailties from last season. -
There’s players that I don’t like how they left us. I didn’t like Marvin Johnson claiming we were holding him hostage. After he had a good season with us. not a player but Mark McGhee. Absolute clown and shouldn’t be allowed near a dug out. I wasn’t a fan of the way cadden left either but I’m over it. it is what it is. I don’t necessarily have any ill will to the players but do for the agents.
-
Well our seedlings essentially gone so If we get through the group top we’ve the old firm or Killie or st Mirren to look forward to. It’s a simple matter to me that we’re a premiership side and we should be winning these games comfortably. I’d have took 1-0 and been quite happy but that was an appalling result

In all fairness any professional who put that proposal forward needs replaced regardless of their cv. Also Hi Jim how you doing mate

It’s now gone so I’m expecting the society to start taking charge of the club now. Get the current exec board out and get the adults in charge.
-
And yet arguably not the worst mr McMahon out there if you know you know.
-
I decided to vote against it personally after some thought. I like the Societys plan but I do want the club to work on financial security so we’re safe in the event of relegation while actively working to avoid it. I want the well society to start acting like the custodians and have control of the club board as well. They own 70% surely they can appoint a chairman themselves.
-
if it pays the salary then aye that’s fine but I’d still much rather have something a bit more traditional even if it’s every season I’m paying for a small tweak. I spend a small fortune personally on motherwell (comparatively within my wage), as I’m sure a lot of us do. I usually buy the home and away kits every year and most likely will buy this one to put some money into the club coffers. But it’s not and probably never will be a kit I’m gonna love. Unless we win the cup in it.
