Stenhousemuir v Motherwell 19/07/2025 🏆
Throughthelaces replied to SteelmaninOZ's topic in Club Chat
I think we'll win and play well I'm loving how we're moving the ball on the deck personally. -
I think we just didn't defend well today thought we had some really encouraging spells where we had the ball and thought at points we looked threatening. Defensively we were a shambles. I am however willing to give benefit of the doubt it's the 3rd game played under new manager and the 3rd system they've played this year. There will be growing pains but if we're as poor defensively on Tuesday on an actual pitch I'll be very concerned.
-
I hope we have a centre half and a right back and a keeper on the way.
-
On a serious note I think this should be a winnable game however I seen Darren young is the Clyde manager so I'd expect Clyde to be set up quite deep and difficult to play against he did a fantastic job at Albion rovers few years back and thought he should have got a crack at a full time team after but never happened. As for us we should be doing everything to assert that we're the premiership team and get it over the line nice and easy
-
So with Clyde being the Hamilton club now is this a derby?
-
I still think we need a right back. Even if your a fan of his we need an SOD replacement in the door how much longers SOD got and I already feel he's targeted by opposition as is. I know we have koutrumbis
-
Could we have that where the sponsor is?
-
I think we can pay tribute and still have a feeling on the top it didn't blow me away with the design I think it's fine. I preferred last year's tartan and champagne kits but I don't hate this year's away I don't love it either but if it ends up being the kit we win the cup in I'll maybe be swayed to bump it a few points.

I just hope the next guy doesn't rub the support wrong way. I never had any issues or knew about the guy til some other supporters where telling me things and his outburst about Aberdeen away tickets

Let's be real shankland thing isn't gonna happen I'm not a fan of him personally I'd have taken him when he left Ayr he'd have been worth a punt to then sell on but that's long past now. What we need is a new goalkeeper or something for us to get excited about that's actually happening or has a feasible chance of happening

Just to add that I think Miller is a great player with loads of potential. That said, since November last year, he hasn’t quite recaptured the early-season form he showed. Whether that’s down to the number of games or the decision to make him captain (which I still think was a poor call), he’s only shown flashes since then. As things stand, he’s still a Motherwell player, and I’d expect him to carry himself accordingly — and for the club to plan with him in mind until a deal is actually signed elsewhere.

I think in his first season I'm just looking for improvement on last season in terms of performances. There was a lot of games we looked devoid of creativity from open play and struggling at the back. I think he'll need 3 transfer windows to give us the overhaul we need.

No not at all some of the issues I had with wording were similar to yours. We should be entitled to discuss on a fan forum. I'd actually hope someone from the WS reads this forum and takes peoples views and considerations into account sometimes maybe someone out here will see things in a different light and it might help inform in the future the perceived part to me is troublesome too. As what's to stop the person doing the perceiving from just disliking someone and using that as a reason to drop someone's membership or whatever. There was something else about criticism I disagreed with as well. Again we seen what happened when the Killie boss left us the messaging from club and society was extremely poorly handled and they should be open to criticism from the membership or individual members if they feel they have a valid feeling.

As many folk should absolutely participate I liked you could vote per item had there been a comment box on the form I'd have liked to give my reasons for why I'm not in favour of certain parts etc. but most seemed fine.
-
I voted I voted what I was in favour of and declined to agree on things I didn't like the phrasing off. Not that I don't trust those currently there but some things where worded where I thought that sounds like we can decide if you are and are not allowed to be a member of well society and some of the language around criticism. I think so long as criticism is fair there will be times where they need to be criticised and there should be no blowback for someone saying how they honestly feel so long as it's respectful and not personal.

Jose Mourinho has been spotted at upper crust........... In all seriousness see who we get if we get a foreigner who's gonna come in and try play football I'd be happy. No more of kettleball or the likes.
-
Just think he's a bit of pace down the right wing back role and he's had a bit of time to develop and I thought he was okay when he featured for us previously. Not saying he's the best in the world but surely we could maybe coach him up let him do a job for us and sell on for some profit down the line.
-
Seen Adam Devine released from rangers wonder if we'd take him back I thought he was decent for us.
-
I don't think I'd be expecting the gegenpress from him. I'd probably describe him a bit more of a pragmatic manager who can get results but can change or adjust things. I may have had more time on my hands than id care to admit so been looking at different highlights and profiles of different managers without a club.

Gonna throw a name out there curious what others think but Des Buckingham could be a good option for us. He did well with New Zealand's under 23s and at Mumbai and got Oxford into the championship. He's a tracker record for working with youth and been relatively successful everywhere he's been. Wondered if anyone else had some thoughts about him?
-
Hoping for cove or Inverness away anyone but county from championship. It's a shame we can't get Ayr away
-
I'm hoping we've a manager appointed by end of the week I'd be hoping whoever our second choice was when we appointed winner is still available and it might be worth giving them a call and hopefully have a transfer budget to let them improve the team in.
