What's Dundee Utd got to do with our inability to sign up a youth player with potential to a longer contract. I'd say that we failed to recognise his potential as we constantly loaned him out for development with out ever really believing he would make anything of it as is the way, unless were desperate very few youths break straight through to our first team despite managers spouting shit to us about bringing through youths (as did Hammel) and also Kettlewell but he's still to be judged. As I've said before on here Robinson's ass was saved by Turnbull who only got a chance because of the desperate position we were in and I'd class Turnbull as exceptional and a once in a generation player who should have been in our team at least a year before he was. He unfortunately is being wasted at Celtic and should be looking to move on ASAP. Quality players under 20 must be promoted to play first team asap to aid their development everyone is not a late bloomer. You should be able to tell their quality within 6 months then if there is no development they can get farmed out for contract to run down It looks very much like the way Jake Hastie was farmed out had a good couple of months with us and moved on for Dev Fee only

Bologna paid £3 million for Ferguson who now is wanted by Juventus 900k for Hickey who they sold for up to 18m and we're only looking at 200k for development fee for Johnston. You have got to wonder what the benefit in spending out on a youth academy players and coaches have for a club like ours now, other than provide a path for our next manager

So on that premis do you believe that Hammel would have got the past two results I for one do not. Its not players shame they have none. I don't believe the last management team was up to the task i believe their lack of past managerial experience caught them out big time. We have to remember Kettlewell has past managerial experience and been in our position before. Hammel had no experience i'd say lesson learned hiring rookie managers. The Kettle is not the sexy appointment but i think its the best option atm and if he saves our season he deserves to start next season

Sorry but a 19 year old should be playing if any good to aid development he's not 16 i can see the argument for a 16 year old to be getting limited time but if your not breaking onto the first team by 19 its time to be looking elsewhere. We have been far to slow in progressing our top talent D Turnbull was a prime example of that he should have been starting at least a year before he was and was only introduced because Robinson was in the shit abs the team was bombing Turnbull turned it around.

The point i was making is to do with squad fitness could that be an issue and pointer to our poor form.
