Watt was the best for me. Much better from Ojala than I saw last week. O’Hara put in a shift as well
-
Brilliant news for Kelly. I thought he should have been in ahead of McLoughlin in the Euros squad as well.

I was sold on Aldred after 5 minutes and totally shocked why Bury let him go.
Another great example of the qualities I didn’t see from Ojala today. Hope we start to see it in the next few games.

Time will tell. It's his second game and the defensive partnership was quite different to last week. From playing with Lamie to having him/Lamie/Mugabi.
We either need to play with 3 centre backs and forget about wingbacks or play a back 4. Today we tried a mx of both, which just didn't work.
Either way we need a form of stability. But like you said the jury is out.
I definitely agree that a bit of stability in formation and team selection is needed… but although I’m not writing Ojala off, I’d argue that good players will stand out, no matter who they’re playing with… and great players will make average players look good too. I’m reminiscing about Peter Hartley’s start with us… he just looked great from the off, with his quality / leadership / organisation… Ojala looks miles off that, by comparison

A huge three points which was the most important thing today, and hopefully gives us a bit of confidence and something to build on. But… and there are many buts… I actually left the stadium more satisfied after the Hibs defeat than I did today with a win.
One of my buts is Ojala. First time I’d seen him in the flesh but he looked a combination of: nervous / not up to fitness / not up to the standard required. I’m not writing him off yet, but I expected more from an international defender.

Has to be from the war chest, though, so we can swoop.

That is what I find unfair here.
I’ve been generally supportive of restrictions and the Scottish governments handling of the pandemic but I fail to see how it can be deemed safer, in a Covid-safe sense, to allow people to cram into nightclubs where they will already be or will become drunk and inevitably drop their guard on social distancing than into a football ground which is more or less outside, with no alcohol on sale, sanitisation and cleanliness measures in place and numerous police/stewards in attendance to monitor the situation.
I am as desperate as any to see the country get back to normal but I do feel that football fans have been dealt a tough hand on this one.
I assume you're totally right about indoor events with people packed together (nightclubs / gigs / theatre etc) being more risky than outdoor sports like football, especially where alcohol is involved… but perhaps part of the thinking for doing it the way that’s been announced is to give arts / culture / nightclubs a bit of a break. They’ve been almost entirely closed since the start of the pandemic, whereas sport has been able to continue, albeit partially and with restrictions in place. On the basis that you can’t / shouldn’t (yet) let everything go with no restrictions, it’s arguably fair to let arts / culture go next - this sector has probably been the worst affected. If it means I can’t get to away games for a wee while yet, I’m ok if it means gigs can re-start.

Sturgeon refusing to say when we can unrestricted crowds back.
Complete contempt for football fans.
... Or (depending on your point of view) taking care to protect public health when football fans have consistently shown that they're unwilling to follow basic guidelines

Need to find a new song for KVV also, it doesn't fit in to chorus of Seven Nation Army, works for O'Donnell or Mugabi but not KVV, ooooooooo check me as if I am super songwriter!! Lol
To the tune of Let it Be... KVV, KVV, KVV, KVV... scored against the Hibees, KVV
Or against the Celtic / Rangers / whatever...

This is what makes us a great wee club! No problem with people using that phrase. You can read whatever you want into that phrase but no reason for a great wee club to have wee ambitions. We should definitely be aiming for top 6 finish every year. I’d go as far as saying we should be aiming for third every year. However, what you aim for and what you budget for are 2 totally different things. It’s got to be very difficult on the budget side with so little between all the non old firm teams. You could end up anywhere from 3 rd to last. But that’s what makes it such a rollercoaster ride.
You almost scored a ‘great wee mighty rollercoaster’ hat-trick in the one post there

I think Maguire has been our most consistent performer in this group stage, but I gave Lamie the nod today because as well as winning every aerial contest, I thought his distribution was much better today.
As Lamie showed at the end of last season as well... he is good in the air and if he keeps it simple and cuts out what looks like casualness or a lack of concentration, then he can be a very decent player for us.

Club refunded the on Friday the £6 I was overcharged for the QOTS game. And have only taken £6 for the concession ticket this week. Issue resolved for me, can't speak for.others...
Same issue resolved for me in the same way

Van Veen could have had 5 today, and should have had 3

A couple of comments already about Lawless, who I think looks fitter / sharper than last season. Maybe he wasn’t fully fit last year? I went for Lamie… dominant in the air all day, and scored

Does anyone know what’s happening with the tickets for Saturday?
I got an email saying I was successful in the ballot, however, no email regarding tickets or important information.
Sorry if I have missed an announcement or post on here already
I think most / all people with ballot success have been emailed with bar-coded tickets on a PDF. Maybe check your junk mail? I did also see a couple of things on MFC Facebook where things have gone wrong somehow, and the response from MFC was ‘contact the ticket office’. Hopefully it’s all good, seems like everyone who wants to get in will do so

A small amount of tickets currently on sale for well fans as we speak. Need to nip over to the official motherwell website ticket section.
Wow, glad I asked… thanks for pointing it out. 700 ‘Well fans there, better be an improvement on last night

With 2,000 fans being allowed in to stadia from next Monday (unless I’m totally confused with the change in levels), does this mean we should expect an announcement re away fans at Airdrie next week?
-
At the very front at the end of the Cooper stand. Will get a great view of the shit corners… I mean, the newly minted creative set piece routines
-
Maguire looked energetic, but I went for O’Connor who I thought looked fairly assured on his debut… albeit without being put under a lot of pressure

Anyone heard any results from the league cup ticket ballot?

I think we have 16 outfield players and that's including Cornelius, Johnston and a couple of long term crocks.
So I hope so!
We have 4 goalies though. With Carson’s range of passing, he could be the missing link as the creative midfielder were looking out for.
-
Kelly is a brilliant signing. What’s that worth versus having a ‘par’ kind of goalie at our level? 5-10 points a season?
-
On the topic of where the SPFL is in comparison with League One or Two down south, I once had a wee chat pre season with Ian Baraclough. I asked him where he thought we’d be if we were in the English leagues. His answer was along the lines of, “standard, mid to lower League One… budget, mid League Two”.
