  1. Good memories... I was interested to see the £7 ticket price for a '91 cup final ticket. Had a look at an online inflation calculator, and £7 in '91 is worth about £12 today. I guess we can expect ticket prices of at least £24, meaning in real terms fitba' is twice as expensive as it was 20 years ago.

  2. NO RESPECT

WE'RE ONLY HERE OUT OF COMMON COURTESY

these banners are the way ahead. Brilliant! Apart from that we shouldn't acknowledge them at all. As others have said we need to get right behind the team. Show the palyers they do play at a special club despite what Two Face and his side kick think.

OH THE WELL WE DO. OH THE WELL WE DO. OH THE MOTHERWELL WE LOVE YOU!!!!

I'm getting hyped up just thinking about. Wouldn't normally make it to Aberdeen but god I'd love to go this time.

    WE ARE THE MOTHERWELL FC!

Im with that. How about adding "INTEGRITY?" to the mix?

  3. That was the best jumping up and down after a goal (1st) for a long time, at the 2nd we were too busy taunting the FHW! Thoroughly enjoyed the game and my day. Brilliant :D

What's FHW? Had a quick look via Google, and I'm guessing it's not 'Fachhochschule Wien'

  4. I think the team selection boils down to who will replace Jennings. I don't see any other changes in the starting line-up from last Thursday.

Option (1) Fitzpatrick or Forbes. A more defensive option. Fitz getting 90 minutes on Sunday and doing OK suggests he's in with a shout.

Option (2) Blackman. Clearly a more attacking start, and he's made a strong claim with his performances so far.

This is Craig Brown we're talking about. I think (1) is more likely. Keep it tight and see what happens, bring Blackman on later. I trust the manager and his 'colleague' whatever they go for.

As per previous posters, getting right behind all the players for the 90 minutes (or longer) will be a big help.

  5. Hello, Motherwellians!

I am now back home in Aalesund after a great vacation in Scotland, and I would just like to say hello to everyone I met in the Electric Bar and especially Jack Daniels before and after the game! You know who you are! And some of you are missing a scarf, others a shirt! A rugby shirt, that is. (!) We had a brilliant time, except when trying to digest the result of the match.

I did miss hearing your songs during the game and in the pub, though! Perhaps you can translate some of ours?

Here are some pictures and footage of the AaFK'ers in Motherwell:

And I do not agree at all about your dismal description of your town; I found it an open and airy place, and felt quite safe when walking back to the hotel at night. It could perhaps do with a little more definition in its centre - like a square with a statue of a steelworker family, or something. With a fanzone the next time our teams meet...! I also really enjoyed the town history as presented in the Heritage Centre. Be proud of your town and your team! And go far in the Europa league!

    'Mon the Well!

    Cheers, Lassie.

Nice one, thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. You're right, we could be doing with a wee bit more positivity...

Regarding the result, I got the impression that Aafk staff, team and fans were quite confident... so maybe you're still all shell-shocked?!

  6. Any locals advise on this hotel Blommenslyst Kro and taxi prices to city centre

I'm nae local, so take what I say with a massive pich of salt, but from the research I've done... local public transport appears to be pretty good, to reduce the need for taxis. You could e-mail that hotel and ask them for more info.

Having said that, from a quick look on Expedia.co.uk, CABINN available on the Weds for £40 - £50 for a single, and First Grand Hotel available for the Thurs, £89 for a twin. They're certainly closer to town, although it's a ball-ache clearly to have to change hotels.

Feel like Thomas Cook here... not sure if that heps you though.

  7. I don't known whether anybody mentioned it - but to you who are supposed to stay over on the Congress Center. It is almost as far away from the Stadium as you can get. But then again, it is our headquater - so perhaps you will meet a couple of the bosses (Kim Brink and Thomas Christensen). No players are 'staying' at the hotel, only the administration.

Thanks for the post... there are so many Motherwell fans coming that the central hotels are either full, or very expensive. Any other tips I'm sure will be welcomed by those who are still looking for somewhere...

  8. No idea CHL, but perhaps on HERE Think Cloudy has another site.

I've spent the last 5hrs trawling all possible options and the reality is that all the cheap/reasonable deals are gone. It's obvious word is out that an unusually sizeable amount of people want to make return journies to certain parts of Denmark 18/19/20 Aug.

I've even been looking at flying to Malmo, Hamburg and Berlin looking for a deal.

Glasgow - Gatwick - Copenhagen and back again can still be had for about £180 total return on Easyjet. Norwegain also has options for about the same price as Easyjet from Gatwick on the Copenhagen leg.

  9. After much debate with the trouble and strife, myself and my daughter are going.

I was thinking Scotrail sleeper (Iwork with Scotrail so this is free) to Euston on the Tuesday night, flight from Stansted Wednesday afternoon to Billund, then train / bus to Odense.

Price for flights £250 return all in???

Cannot get cheap digs though for Wednesday and Thursday, Everything seems sold out, including Bed and Breakfasts.

Alternatively, I could get the sleeper to London then Eurostar to Brussels, Brussels to Cologne then the sleeper to Odense arriving about 08.30 the morning of the game.

Thursday night in Odense then the sleeper to Cologne on Friday night arriving back in Motherwell 18.30 ish on the Saturday.

Just need a room on the night of the game.

    Anybody know of cheapish accommodation?

I wouldn't normally bother that much for one night but I am taking my wee lassie.

For reasonably priced accommodation (£70 / night), try this: http://www.occ.dk/en/hotel_2052.aspx

Maybe not what you'd call cheap, but it's still available. Seems to be a few Well fans already booked in there. It's a couple of miles away from the city centre, but apparently there are a few local bus options for a couple of quid (20 mins), and a taxi is about £12 if necessary.

  10. There's no benefit regarding the price, but u skip the lines in the airport and can book a seat in advance. Remember in Denmark u cant buy a ticket on the train. U must get it before u board - otherwise its a 5000 kr fine (570ish pounds).

But dont u think u can find other well fans already on the flight?

Cheers, appreciate the advice. I'm on a flight early on the Weds morning from London... I don't expect that to be the most popular of the likely routes from Motherwell.

  11. Check my earlier post on clip cards... )

Thanks - I had seen that, but I'm travelling myself on the flight, meeting my pals in Odense. So I don't think Clip Cards will be a help, unless I hang about the airport touting for other fans travelling to Odense ;-)

Just wondering if there's any benefot in booking the train in advance... cheers.

  12. Could a friendly Dane give us a bit of advice on the trains from Copenhagen airport to Odense...

    (1) Is there any benefit (price, seat reservation...) in reserving a ticket online in advance? Or is it just the same deal if you arrive and buy a ticket immediately before travelling?

    (2) what happens if you book a specific train, but the incoming flight is late and you need to get a later one?

    (3) There seem to be different classes of train (InterCity etc). Any major advantage / cost difference in the different types?

The Danish railway website is good, but when you go to book it's all in Danish, and mine's a bit limited.

    Tak!
