  1. Unless we sell Hutchinson £750,000+ in January I do not see anything changing any time soon. As others have indicated there seems to be a real flatness about the place. It's been like that since Levante I'd say.
  2. BigStall is right in my opinion. Motherwell fans not renewing season tickets will only serve to hurt Motherwell Football Club.
  3. Hi Leeann I was hoping you might be able to give an update on the clubs plans for community ownership. Even an update on when we can expect to hear full details would be appreciated. The community ownership vision has the potential to be an exciting opportunity for Motherwell FC and all those connected to it in my opinion.
  4. Motherwell v Aberdeen in the semis. Destiny
  5. I knew we were going to get beaten yesterday. For a variety of reasons it was always going to be tough. Not saying I expected 6-0 but having played them so recently and played so well that wasn't going to happen again. Add our injury problems to that and we got stuffed. Would not describe it as shameful. McCall is right that the next 3 games will shape our season. His job is to make sure we learn from our mistakes and push on. 3 wins and 4th place isn't out of the question. 3 loses and there is no chance of a decent finish.
  6. Sorry Wellmaninwishaw I have to defend the club and say they are far from lazy. Marketing is far more complicated than sticking a few posters up. Leeann Dempster is really passionate about positioning Motherwell as a true community club. She made this very clear at the forum on Monday night. She will happily talk to you until the cows come home about what this involves (e.g. 100s of kids through the doors at Firpark each week on non-match days and working with disadvantaged groups) and the benefits to the long term future of the club (i.e. increased season ticket holders and government money).

    Semi Final

So disheartening if that turns out to be true. Come on. Get off the couch!
  8. I thought Hutchinson and Saunders were great yesterday. Hutchinson has the potential to be a superb centre half! All our young guys did well. Page and Meechan looked solid and both appear to be able to hit a pass. Very encouraging. The reality is we need these guys in the team as their deals are ticking over and if we are to make money out of them then they need to play. Obvioulsy it would be great if we get the balance right between some signing longer deals and one or two moving on for a handsome profit (clearly I'm getting ahead of myself here).
  9. Thirded (if that is possible)! I do understand people's frustration as things seem to be conspiring against us at the moment but I do not blame The Board for that. You live and learn and all that. I really want us to prove old Conman Brown wrong. Gon The Well!
  10. Yes without a doubt summer football should be part of any reconstruction/revolution. JB is clearly of that view so hopefully he can persaud any doubting chairmen.
  11. I think it's a decent idea. If you do not want to do it it costs you nothing. Glad to see anyone coming up with ideas to help Motherwell FC!
  12. Have said it for sometime he needs to take a back seat. Totally disagree that he has been one of our better players lately. In my opinion he invites pressure onto us with his shocking distribution and as others have said he is less than pacy. At times he is to easily shoved out the way as well. Give some of the young lads a chance. Craigan has been a great servant to the club (still is) but I think we need to look to the future.
  13. Me and my Dad! None of this our recent form is putting me off p*sh please. Mon the Well!
  14. CALM DOWN! I know it can be depressing reading news stories about managers rejecting us but depending on what paper you read neither he nor Sbragia has turned us down. You need to be formally offered to turn it down. Candidates are no use to us if they do not accept Motherwell FC warts and all. Unfortunately, the papers always manage to put a negative spin on things and I'm sure the board would rather that if they weren't interested they just kept their mouths shut. KMcaplin I think you may have a point about someone who can manage in the real world. Maybe we are too real for these latest two names. No doubt some of you will have already done this but the stats below are quite interesting. Of those mentioned Dave Penny for me. As others have posted there are a few interesting articles out there on him. Seems to be good in the transfer market, plays attacking football and backs youth players (apprently not the best tactically but hey you can't have everything). Craig_Brown_(footballer) Neil_McDonald#Managerial_stats Ricky_Sbragia#Coaching_and_managerial_career Stuart_McCall#Managerial_statistics Chris_Sutton#Managerial Dave_Penney#Managerial_career I would rather we took another couple of weeks, if that is what is needed, than appoint someone out of panic.
  15. I'm not hoping for a Lanarkshire Utd. Nonetheless there is some sense in it. Organic v Non-Organic growth. For the avoidance of doubt would much rather have 7,000 Well fans turning up on a regular basis! As suggested by Ladywell a more competitive league would make a great difference. Success breads success I think is the phrase. A more equal spread of 'the finances' would certainly be a start.
  16. Interesting thread. Boyle had originally thought of a Lanarkshire Utd when he took over and there is definitely some sense in it. I would prefer that to us and Scottish football going to the wall. Glad that there are reports today of at least some SPL clubs questioning the move to a 10 team league. One governing body makes financial and organisational sense. To make progress everyone needs to be heading in the same direction. That is very difficult/impossible to achieve with independant organisations who have their own interests at heart. No idea on the actual financial cost savings but it would be interesting to know as other have pointed out. I would guess at 100s of thousands if not into the millions (mainly labour costs and some potential property assets).
  17. Totally right attitude in my opinion. Key to our survival anf future progression for us to increase the fan base/get those who are fans already to turn up. Not an easy task in very difficult conditions currently. I have no asnwer but would support any initiative I could.
  18. I'm a season ticket holder and haven't had any raffle tickets. Don't even know what it's about? Clearly I've missed something
  19. As already said they did have a contract! Their gentleman's agreement was just that, a legally binding contract.
  20. NO RESPECT WE'RE ONLY HERE OUT OF COMMON COURTESY these banners are the way ahead. Brilliant! Apart from that we shouldn't acknowledge them at all. As others have said we need to get right behind the team. Show the palyers they do play at a special club despite what Two Face and his side kick think. OH THE WELL WE DO. OH THE WELL WE DO. OH THE MOTHERWELL WE LOVE YOU!!!! I'm getting hyped up just thinking about. Wouldn't normally make it to Aberdeen but god I'd love to go this time. WE ARE THE MOTHERWELL FC!
  21. For what its worth I think anything (subject to not being a real H&S risk) to raise the atmosphere at Firpark should be encouraged. Safe standing areas, as debated elsewhere, would make a huge difference. As long as your not harming anyone lads, well done!
  22. Some really positive news in the last few days and I thought Leeann's interview on the official site topped it off. Great to hear from the club about our plans and ambitions. Thought the interview was really positive and honest. Thanks
  23. Low attendances must be a real concern for the club. We should try 3 for 2, 8 game season packages (I've put no thought into why 8 and not 10 but you get the idea i.e. more flexible fewer game packages) , we should reduce our prices for pay at the gate (£15 for an adult), we should lower ticket prices for away fans or put on coaches to get them to Firpark. BUT I say all of that knowing it isn't that simple. A previous thread proposed using the 'Bradford City system' for season ticket sales and I'm all for the club looking at that as well. Any feedback yet on the Suppoters Committee? Surely ticket pricing and attendances must be on the agenda.
