  1. every single one of 'Robinsons' type of footballer in our 1st choice squad, has fucked up as many times or more often than those like Bigi who are recognised to be able to look up and direct a pass to a team mate. Robinson might not have 'meant' to deliver that message in the interview, it's easy for a journo to lift quotes, but the message and tone is coming out over and over again, from diffferent channels. he is clearly coming up short in many areas of management, its difficult to tell if its his ego or a blind faith in his own limited ability thats is tripping him up. I trust the club are supporting him and steering the expectation and message that should be getting out, yet "too many footballers" and "clear out duds" , "dont deserve to play football" is the messsage being broadcast, and met with derision. great guy etc, but he has been given resources he shouldn't have expected, when he signed on. and moved things backwards we have plenty of players that can play football and work hard , the crazy talk about re-inventing players as wing backs ,right backs, classy midfielders etc is probably the most painful along with a failing formation setup that nearly every manager in the league can counter and topple with their own decisions. The only entertainment and points gathered that Ive witnessed this season , is when we played with a couple of footballers in the middle and/or in a 4-4-2 , Livvy, Paisley and Dundee, I missed the Rangers game , seems like that day was when the work rate delivered , sadly the passion/drive in other games doesnt seem to be getting shown. EDIT: nearly forgot the Aberdeen game, wow, that day it worked, Mcinnes showed his own naivety and disrespect and thought he could roll us over, he went with 4 up top , absolutely suited us to a T, no other manager is gonna do that , doubtfull if even Rodgers or the scouser will do it seems to me the players are just not working at 100% , argue all you want about that the fault lies with them, then reflect on what they are being asked to do , over and over again, even guys like Tait are completely downtrodden, Bigi a guy that 100% lives his entire life by his faith is getting told he's the failure, for mistakes at drills he's clearly not strong at, Cadden & Campbell going backwards, even the nonsense of berating Bowman for celebrating a goal, even his own signings have 'sensationally' failed youve got to wonder their mindset to the manager they committed to? I still think the basics are there for a decent finish, but its been brutal far too often and just when a wee bit of hope is delivered, the manager rolls out the insanity card, going back to what has failed over and over again
  2. full time, dont think this one is even worth a post mortem. will be blamed on the kids or the footballers.
  3. are fans still expected to be paying for the service? I dont see it advertised anywhere I'm shocked at just how bad a service seems to be getting delivered , or not most weeks as for last weeks formation it was 100% 5 -3 -2 , the boss was either a genius having done good prep' or got lucky as Aberdeen played right into our hands , with a really high line 2 strikers and 2 wingers that got no change., and allowed us to play the midfield. It was only late on in the game that Grimshaw looked to be playing anything like a wingback, first half he bust a gut tackling an harrying
  4. Let’s keep it simple for the apprentice. they owned the club the well society purchased ownership by ways of a repayment plan at preferential terms which include one of the creditors making significant contribution to the payments to himself. Ps similar to , but at very much more favourable terms than say Man’ Utd someone owned the club, someone bought the club, and used income to pay for the purchase.
  5. An web article on the playing career of Hughie Ferguson , 284 league goals in 288? games for Motherwell FC. http://readtheleague.com/the-big-feature/from-history-to-tragedy Must have been quite the player to watch , such a tragic end.
  6. some victory for Bigi with Burundi visiting the South Sudan Warning: look away now if you are a member of the goalkeepers union (or decent camera work!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGkz--Hx4Fg
  7. Former players and current mess related. Craig Samson has officially retired as a player. Opting to move to Sunderland as a coach with immediate effect. Leaves St-Mirren with two unproven keepers , likley to go with 24 year old American Irishman Danny Rogers until January window from what I can see. Rogers has been an Aberdeen player for 6 years since turning pro, almost always out on loan, last two full seasons at Falkirk playing 64 games before loan was switched to Buddies their other keeper is 27 year old Dean Lyness whos been all over but rarely made first team appearnances
  8. I'd guess so as , can't be many dafties with so much spare time, if it happened and you are constantly on the 'net then you'd hear about it inside an hour
  9. staggeringly bad troll at that, yet still gets responses
  10. U18's were playing St johnstone away in the Scottish youth cup earlier today tied at 1-1 game went into extra time , Motherwell winning it 1-2 Tractor boys, Hamilton scored in 29min, for Motherwell Muir 60min then Reece McAleer 97min St johnstone site has a match report http://www.perthstjohnstonefc.co.uk/news/post/saints-u18s-defeat-youth-cup
  11. not directly more so a comment on his ability to deliver soundbites that will get thrown back in his face , but I do disagree, as a primary function of a RB in my opinion is to be able to defend , that isnt Caddens game , just an opinion though.
  12. a reminder that the who's next manager thread will never be far from the top of the forum
  13. cant be upsetting the part time visitors in hospitality, plenty of whom have no interest in Motherwell FC just make the regular punters suffer the interaction, small things, add up .
  14. finance @ mfcdsa.com without the spaces
  15. sad to hear he's struggled on in pain, an honest player who benefited greatly from coaching and players around him, sound fella too ? Was Tom Hateley not right behind him majority of games , I really dont recall Chris as a wingback ( and can only imagine I'd be hiding behind my hands if he was!) Humphrey MFC 2009-13 132 appearances (8 goals) Hateley MFC 2009 -13 148 appearances (10goals)
  16. meant to post this the other night in response to Busta and siebs posts, mustve fell asleep! unluckily post editor seems to have saved it? team selection and line up is a total shambles , I've taken to focussing on a few players each game , Donnelly was totally hung out to dry by Robinson at the weekend (again). the Lad is the most one footed player I think we've ever had, yet our experienced football manager puts him out there on his wrong foot for majority of a game, a second game in succession , the lad was almost shell shocked by time he got moved to RB. I'll go as far as saying Robinson is destroying decent reputations and perhaps even ruining players potential by dropping them into roles they just arent suited for. There can be plenty arguments that players should be capable of using both feet etc, but if a player simply cannot kick with his left foot, you'd have to be a certain type of 'visionary to think they would deliver on the left hand side, especially only a few days on from watching them play like a swan on ice Robinson is slowly showing he's losing it, having taken to 'putting down' these "qualified young coaches with their licences" that have ideas of playing football only one or two steps away from saying the players aren't delivering what he's asking them to do, a la Yogi Hughes patter. the football we've been served during his tenure up has been 80-90% god awful, 10-20% sheer delight, he might deserve more time, but NOT if he cannot select and set out a basic team utilising the capability of the players he has at his disposal (from his squad)
  17. 1st sign? we have regularly finished games with 4 or 5 man frontline , having sacrificed those that provide the most assists.....I had assumed that was plan B 1-5-5
