  1. Because jobseekers allownace is £64.30 and you are proposing £10 of that be spent on 90mins entertainment, so why not? because that's fucking mental! if you are living of £64 and you are proposing £10 right away, not mentioning travel etc. its not wages its a survival allowance, a bare minimum I'm not saying they shouldn't, in fact, I said they just shouldn't be spending the amount you proposed, and good on the ones doing voluntary work, and a huge well done to them, Oh and wait! our club already gives some free entry and I'm advocating extending those schemes in association with other bodies like the government for those that are unemployed and doing retraining/voluntary community/club work. SPL clubs? thought it was only St mirren, has it been successful? Econonomic climate? yip hard times for many and measures should be taken accordingly but IMHO spending £10 of a week on entry to a Football match is not a measure I would take. JOG ON no not excessive EDIT: apologies Fatcalf I was basing that opinion on my readings of your situation in the past, Good times regarding pricing, indeed in the past for football fans and I'd love it to go back to those days when football was affordable for all, please don't misinterpret my rantings above for anyhting other than, saying £10 entry for UB40's is illadvised
  2. aye MJ but you were only on the dole in the "not employed in a legitimate sense" were you not I'm not saying prices are OK far from it and I agree Diggle that it would be good to have the ground full by having anyone that wants to be there to gain entry. and I totally agree that being out of work shouldn't mean life grinding to a halt but I still stand by the basic point that if anyone is on the dole and struggling they shouldn't be spending the proposed £10 on a fitba match. If there was some other scheme in place, e.g a subsidised or reward scheme for community/club/voluntary work to get folks in then yeah, flood the place with them
  3. Wellgirl you keep harping on about getting unemployed folk into Fir Park No offence intended, I've been unemployed a few times myself, but to be quite honest if someone is unemployed (and hardup/struggling) they shouldn't be thinking about spending even a tenner of their income on a feckin football match. you are flogging a dead horse
  4. they did post notice on the official site http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/index.php?op...&Itemid=136 shame you missed that notice and the 20 or so mentions on here prior to it
  5. the saints fans certainly got into Stevies head today as could be seen from that incident and his reactions to them when we scored
  6. and he delivered the freekick onto hutchison for the first Not a bad debut for the lad, 90mins and two assists
  7. Radford do you understand what we were trying to say now would anyone care to guess how Mr Gannon is likely to line up his squad for next weeks Killie game
  8. Yeah decent summary Al-B only thing I'd say is in the first half it seemed like they had acres of space in behind our very light wieght midfield, it almost seemed at times we were a man down the way the team lined up, The line up didn't work but JG sorted it for sure second half: First half it seemed more like: ----------------Ruddy--------------- Hateley---Hutchison---Craigan---Hammell ----------------Reynolds------------------- ------------------Coke------------------ ------Murphy----Forbes-----O'Brien------ -------------------Sutton--------------------- with Coke and Reynolds in the same hole? and Hammell was getting raped with them having a free run at him. Second half was what I had hoped to see from the off, high speed, passing game with lots of enthusiasm from the boys, McHugh (son of Dooooogiieeee!) changed the game , his direct approach seemed to help inspire the likes of Forbes and Murphy who had been very quiet earlier on. Still a lot to be concerned about, defensively, but this young side have goals in them so we should be ok. Hately slotted in Ok, he's not a right back yet but I'd rather have him than OBrien in there, the Humph looked much better today when he came on Dissapointed in Hammell and Obrien, Saints fans definately got to Hammell and O'Brien looked well out of sorts with the exception of him dipping inside and unleashing a stormer that rattled the woodwork near the end. *********BBC Alba @8 tonight just to see another Forbes wonder goal************

A good section of the programme was devoted to remembering Mowgli with very kind and touching words from a number of ex team mates and coaches. RIP wee man
  11. I'm non-British , football is a physical game, shoulder contact should not be considered a foul the continental game is killing the physical side of the game by all the falling over players do with the slightest contact. It'll be more enjoyable watching crown green bowls in the future if these softies get their way
  12. Big Hutchison in the centre for me - outstanding Sutton and Forbes were the nearest 90minute men and Giles Coke looks like he is going to be a starman week in week out when he gets a full time slot
  13. Since when did you believe what you read on here , the stats don't lie progress was made with the players mentioned, and sure we lost goals but hey we are Motherwell Football club in the SPL, I don't know if I'm quite ready to sit and watch games where we never concede Things are changing, but thats not to say everyone will be happy with the thought that everything is to change. I think Steelboy is getting challenged a little ( not just by you HC) on this thread for simply stating facts supporting players who are still turning out for MFC. Every player from the past, present and future have weaknesses its just how it is at our club, JG is implementing sweeping changes at present and we can all enjoy the new experience that these changes bring. I'll be quite happy if our centre pairing is the most capped 'Well player and one of two of the most promising defenders we've produced/developed in years one of whom was not that long ago was walking away with fans MOTM awards week in week out and has already progressed in developing his stature by steadily adding bulk Is someone else is added to the sqaud that can improve on or challenge these two and lets not forget big Hutchison then fine but I'd say right now our biggest concern in defense is right back, I don't know if I could handle watching O'Brien filling in there again
