  1. time to try and raise funds to sponsor at least one player again, and give all contributors chance to win sponsored top and a night out in company of players and staff it'll be the 13th season of sponsored strips by the steelmenonline and its predecessor wtfc forums If you want to join in, just pledge an amount (£5, £10, £15, £20....) in this thread and I'll add it to the first post as we go I have pledged funds to sponsor an away strip which will be the raffle prize along with the sponsors rights to attend the clubs sponsors event , so I owe the club £290 ! THE IDEA & COSTS The idea is that people contribute in multiples of £5 in order to get their name against a 'raffle ticket' for a draw. Each £5 contribution will get a name on a ticket & place in the draw The winners of the draw will receive the sponsors privileges ( sponsored top & invite to the end of season event) So, if you donate £5, you will get one chance at winning the strip, whereas a £20 donation will get you four chances and so on....... It's basically whatever you can afford, in £5 increments Doing it like this we can help support club and every fiver contributed goes direct into the club in full and gives anyone contributing a chance of winning. It costs, up to £350 to sponsor players kit, a few years back for season 12/13 when the club were pushing steelmenforever we managed to reach £700 to sponsor two euro tops @£350 each, then we topped that for 14/15 with three strips sponsored and £865 into the club, 2015/16 season £570 went in and last season the club received £455 with Purestate winning Louis Moults away top and attending the sponsors night with his lad and Gamst winning Richards Taits 3rd top, nominating to send some family to the sponsors night PAYMENT options: Send PayPal payment to: iainmande 'at' hotmail.com , or use the new widget thingy https://www.paypal.me/iain1886 Do what you can to cover any charges if its an option, then I should receive the full £5 increments and you as the sender covers any charge, if there is one from your account Please include your board name or contact details in the PayPal payment so I can mark it off, and post in the thread that you've sent funds, so I can balance the payments and update the first post with contributors. if you require postal details to send a cheque or if you'd rather meet up and pay cash.message me with a PM or post here and I'll get in touch. 2017-2018 pledges (paid in bold) Trousertent £10 Macbroom £20 DennyC £20 Ecky £20 ToxtethOGrady £10 Fergi4 £20 BigWispyFlossy £20 Purestate £20 BurnBroomfield £20 Andy_P £20 siebsbarmyarmy £20 + £10 rambunctious £10 GazzyB £20 YabbasTurd £20 SteveDiggle £15 KMCAA £10 CoolhandLuc £10 numpty £20 StipeIsGod £20 Kmcalpin £15 + £5 cash at game Scoojy £10 Weeyin £20 Joe Wark The Legend £10 Daver £25 Brainier £10 Gamst £10 WishyWell £10 Ballso £20 MFCpodcast £20 cambo07 £10 Dezz £10 Contribution payments received to date: £475 22 July £480 23 July £500 24 July 23:59 £510 10 Aug £530 06Aug BB threw in an xtra £20 to help cover the +1 ticket So Louis Moult away and Peter Hartley away sposnisrship has now been paid to the club Sep 2017 - £580 was paid to the club for the two away sponsorships a further £100 was paid to cover the +1 tickets the the POTY sponsors night just waiting on 100% confirmation from the club on what happened when Louis left, reckon Ciftic was substitured in on PA annoucements I think BurnBroomfield was given two tickets for the sponsors night and trouser tent picked up a pair also, as 1st and 2nd names out the draw didnt require the tickets, so as courtesy I offered to last years winners who couldnt receive the tickets and offered them to next drawn, who again passed on opportunity so these contributors were in the next half dozen names drawn and were the first who could use the tickets. thanks to all who contributed.
  2. Lasley has never been tall enough or quick enough to command an Assistants job
  3. Cheers, sounds about right, but, that's only 4 weeks today! ( and one week before transfer window opens)
  4. been long enough since Saturdays match, Is it time to start looking at next game ? Anyone picked up any info' on when the remnants of squad, return for pre-season? our first official fixture is likely to be League cup on July 15th or 19th , so expect a few weeks of bounce games before this at least? League openers on weekend around 5th August.... anyone think we'll play friendlies?
  5. he's the most moody, arrogant wee shite, I think I'll ever see play for Motherwell FC, but I loved seeing him deliver for us, and £700k wasnt bad either. as a Celtic player I seen him stand outside Fir park, very late at night, in late December 2007 tears running down his face, remembering his mate. The abuse he received later that season at Fir park and thereafter used to annoy me, he took it for a while, then bit back with a kiss of the badge, and how the troglodytes whined, many taking it beyond rivalry. Was delighted we got him back, Champions league & premiership level of player, hugely frustrating player to support when the team are playing shite, but he was class above majority of his Motherwell colleagues, delivered more than a fair shift and helped bring on some others, not looking forward to finding out he will be lining up against us.
  6. Fairplay? what was there to criticise? list it as it happened , put a timeline to it.... Ps wanting a winning mentality is fine, being the man that turned it into a pantomime , then deflecting some heat onto others,in an attempt to gain some credibility from fans who in the main were not there , or install discipline,is another thing in its entirety
  7. Seriously? you said "keep Bowman for use off the bench or in specific situations when we need to go route one. I wouldnt be relying on him to get me 15 goals a season far less 20 but he is a big physical lad and could be useful in certain games." in fact I'm not even going to .... This is the only hope, some of them have, the likes of Bowman, some pretty decent history, but have shown with a fair amount of game time that they are brutal when deployed in certain roles supplied in a certain manner (worst football in years!) however there is a glimmer of hope that in the correct team, the likes of Bowman could deliver - I would not be building a team around him just yet though! and certainly not if Robinson plans the same type of game he used at Oldham or later at us this season
  8. You mean carry on exactly as we are, doing the same thing over and over again , you expecting a different result? Define insanity
  9. Robinson throwing him on made it bit of a pantomime, incredulous that as a manager he then ridicules players for not hustling back into play after 2nd goal, numpty. who wouldn't vote for Faddy cameo complete with goal, in an otherwise shifest of a football game rather sadly on reflection of our current team, he did change the game for the good.
  10. I'm not going to debate it tonight, its a night to breathe a sigh of relief, that we have got away with it. so safe to say I dont agree, but peace out indeed
  11. Poorly planned because it was a shambles, I'd suggest I got notified 2 days ago as a Well society member only notified as a season ticket holder last night. its the basic business of the club and ours seems to react to it like its the first time its ever happened, in fact I'd go as far as to say for years with only a handful of very dedicated but overstretched staff , the club was more efficient and on the ball. For the sake of it I also went and reviewed the offical website , 8 days ago was the announcement, just a couple of days after the majority of season ticket holders were at the ground ....... maybe you're thinking about an offer that was put out for Ross county game a few weeks ago, that was notified on here? aye, that one..., cracking planning, nae bother. Still, got away from work early, not with any real optimism, but more in amazement at the hallucinogenic effect a Louis Moult goal has had on a few thousand punters, looking for some of that goodstuff, and hoping Killie have downed tools for the summer.
  12. Go watch the 1-5 game again, you'll find more motherwell highlights than in every game since combined , we needed one player hooked after 15 minutes in that game and McGhee left him for over an hour for some inexplicable reason. McGhee wasn't sacked because he was incapable at managing. Compared to what's been served up since, McGhee served up decent football And I thought he was an utter cock of a man. Robinson however isn't capable as a manager , however successful he is at keeping us up or however decent he is as an individual
  13. Pretty much, only its our players that spend a lot of time slipping and falling on their arse, not sure our maangement and groundstaff are communicating
  14. A Chance? How many chances? based on what history? the mans a coach, probably above average one at that, based on his history. yes he's been handed a crock of shit , yes he's a thoroughly decent fella, but his management record to date is full of people making excuses , in the main its unstructured narrow minded week in week out with no improvement, at Oldham, defence only, at Motherwell literally throwing forwards onto a pitch and chasing lumped high balls, with players out of position all over the pitch Under McGhee, even in his last game , we played in the main, structured football, much more disciplined in every area, with the same shite players, McGhee unfortunately seemed to be making a stubborn twisted stand almost challenging the club management to a stand off and left the likes of Chalmers and Jules on and hung out to dry. McGhee wasnt the answer but sure as anything Robinson hasnt earned the chance
  15. Its a scenario that could give us a 9th place finish, arguable if the stress involved waiting 24hours for an unlikely ICT result, given Dundees bounce, would make that ideal, over simply bettering Hamiltons result on Tuesday and being safe in 10th. No it isn't
  16. Rangers have obtained permission to withdraw from Development league next season..... its the last season of development league their academy boss was part of Project Brave working group , their team will take part in cups and arranged 'cross border games' some of the spin on it on Rangers website https://rangers.co.uk/news/academy-news/academy-launches-games-programme/
  17. you think we had better form , before McManus was injured? the double injury blow has hampered us, but you seem to be implying McManus had us playing in some way better....
  18. to be fair , I can fully accept that there had been internal discussions about running offer for tomorrows game but that ultimate decision was to host it next week but communication was missed and system been updated during all the madness that, Made in Motherwell has generated.. It must have been all hands on deck selling season tickets, 50% up on this time last year and 25% of them first team ST purchasers. them up by must have been struggling just to contain the oozing positivity. Looking forward to the next Pravda update
  19. just remembered, due to this quite a few of our players falling on their arse throughout Dundee game WTF? its our pitch and our choice of surface.
  20. True, but Heneghan has only missed the one game, solid partnership in development
  21. Some extra dates to aim for: Thursday May 25 Premiership play-off final, 1st leg Sunday May 28 Premiership play-off final, 2nd leg http://spfl.co.uk/key-dates/
  22. Brazilian

    Dundee Motm

staggered that some have more votes than Campbell who did twice the work with half the errors the young lad stood out, shame he was held back at times trying to protect the gap between centre halves. his energy could have helped further up, so Campbell for MOTM
  23. Did we go into this season without options? I thought we had a pretty large squad , with duplication in every position ....
  24. to be honest , I was referring to Claret & Amber, but aye, Faddy could do that job and some
  25. there are at least two club employees who are getting put into semi retirement who could do that job
