    Jim Jefferies

I was talking to Squirrelhumper in work today. Tommy McLean to take interim charge of Killie. Furthermore, apparently 3 Killie players are seeing shrinks due to the stress of working under Jeffries/Brown, and Wullie Gibson (who I think has left Killie now) was on Valium due to the bullying received from the aforementioned two (allegedly!) So, please naw to any notion of appointing those two at Fir Park. Let Utd have them. Looking forward to Saturday's game now.
  3. While I think this is the window where we should cash in on Reynolds, I think we should be looking for more than £600k for him. I think we should be pushing for at least £750k, plus adding in some clauses (% of future fee etc). Also, Newcastle? They are pretty much a shoe-in for promotion this year. I just can't see Reynolds playing in the Premiership in 9 months. Would be happy enough with points 2 and 3. Not a clue who number 4 is so i'll take your word for it. Seems harsh on Fraser, he's not had much of a chance.

    New Manager

Alan Irvine has left Preston. Worth a shout? Always thought he was highly rated down there. Is also used to working on a tight budget. Assuming of course Brown/Knox is just a temporary measure....

    New Manager

I wouldn't be too unhappy with Jimmy Calderwood. Though, if Boyle wants to go for someone "outside the box" again, what about Brendan Rogers? Worked well with the Chelsea youths, done a good job at Watford, and went to Reading when they were selling everything that was half decent. Would be a good appointment if we're sticking with the youth players.

Stevie J for me. Only one to show a bit of spirit.
  7. Of course it doesn't. Neither will cheering and singing for 90 mins. If Gannon puts out a team with the instruction of playing in a style that the team is incapable of, then we'll get humped. Every other SPL team has found out how we play, Gannon needs a new approach. And quickly!
  8. Agree with you there. To be fair, I think Stevie J does offer a little of that, but then again that's only 1 player. Our centre halfs are powder puff. When has Saunders or Reynolds ever put in a crunching tackle? Fair enough if thats no their game, but we need someone that does. Look around the SPL. Caldwell, McManus, Weir, Dods, Hogg. All big dirty bastards. We need one like that. Boot some fucking arses.
  9. Defeats mean that fans are going to be unhappy. Do you think if we played 1980's Wimbledon long ball stuff but we were winning most weeks, people would be complaining? Of course not. Do we have the players to play this "style"? Look at John Hughes. With Falkirk, he got plaudits for his passing football, but still ended up in a relegation battle. But now with Hibs and a better standard of player, he's getting better results. I think we just need to grind out a couple of wins. Put some fucking tackles in, a few bookings, take a 1-0 win. That'll do me.
  10. 2nd half "performance" was pathetic today. Just WTF does Gannon say and do to the team at half time? Every fucking week we fall apart in the 2nd half. Big performance needed at Tynecastle on Wednesday.
  11. A right back, a left back, centre back, central midfielder and a striker. No much to ask for eh? Craigan, Lasley, McGarry should be sold if possible. Though to fund the above, i'd accept anything above £750k for Reynolds. What i'd give for someone like Ross McCormack. No creativity in that team whatsoever at the moment.

  13. 2 cracking volleys to be fair! I don't know what it is about Phil's volley that makes me go for that. Maybe it was because it was on a warm summer's day, maybe because we won that day, or maybe it's just because Phil is no longer with us, but my memories of that goal are slightly better than Jim Hamilton's. I remember being in the Cooper the day of Phil's goal, and just standing there with my hands aloft for a good 30 secs after everyone had sat down again! A wonder strike! Couple of games that haven't been mentioned as game of the decade. The 6-1 game against Hearts on a cold Wednesday night around 2002, and a 3-0 win down at Rugby Park when Killie ended up with 8 men (I think I just like that because I have a couple of mates who are Killie fans!)

    Cup Draw

    What that man said.
  16. I always seem to take cup defeats a lot harder than league ones. The worst ones that stick out for me were losing 4-3 to Ayr United at FP around 2000, when we had 2nd division Partick waiting in the Quarters. The 2003 semi against Rangers was a sickener. Can't believe we shipped 4 goals to possibly one of the worst Rangers teams in recent history. And from the the high of being 2-1 up at HT. I think the worst i've felt after a game was the following year in the cup, home to Inverness in the Quarters. They got a early goal (think it was Barry Wilson who lobbed it over Marshall) and then they stuck 10 men behind the ball for 80 minutes. We could have played all weekend and still not have scored. That game put me in a mood for about a week.
  17. I remember that game aswell. I'm pretty sure that was the last game with the terracing behind the goals before the Cooper stand got built. I usually sat in the East Stand but my Dad took us behind the goals that day. My first game was early 1991 (around January or February) against Hearts and we lost 3-1. It was only a couple of months after my 4th birthday. No idea of who played that day or the scorers, will need to check that out. Now approaching 20 years as a 'Well fan. Doesn't time fly when you're having fun.......
  18. I don't think it's any less blatant that Chris Porter for example, who said his first press conference im sure that he was looking to move on after his contract, perhaps to the Old Firm. Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't Giles Coke come out with something recently saying if he performs well enough he'll get a big move? I just think there's no need to have a go at a player for openly talking about his future and his career plans. People need to take off their C&A tinted specs when analysing these kind of comments. If he had only said that he wanted a move to the Championship/Premiership after his loan spell, not one would have batted an eye lid. I think it's because the OF was mentioned (like others have said, a set-up by the journo no doubt) that some people have become angry or disappointed. He's already said in his interview that for as long as he's here, he'll do the very best he can for the manager and the fans. That's good enough for me
  19. Agree with Neil on this one, what's wrong with the guy showing ambition? He obviously wants to play at a higher level and feels coming on loan here is the way to do that. I very highly doubt that he's actually come out and said "I want to play for Celtic or Rangers" I'd assume he's said that he would like to move onto a bigger club in England, and the journalist in question (looking for an OF slant on it) has suggested a move to the Old Firm and big Yass never ruled it out. Those calling big Yass "a useless c*nt" need to dry their eyes. As long as he performs well over the next 3 months i'll be delighted and i'll wish him the best when he moves on.

    Motherwell V Hibs

well spotted! But aye, Sutton will pick up a knock after doing a diving forward roll in celebration of his goal, Murphy comes on to replace him and scores the 2nd. Simples!

    Motherwell V Hibs

Depends on what Hibs team turns up, but im confident we can grab another 3 points to take us to 3rd spot. Ruddy Yass Saunders Reynolds Hammell Hateley Coke Jennings Forbes O'Brien Sutton Sutton & Murphy with first half goals in a 2-0 win. Riordan to miss a 2nd half penalty
  22. I'd be up for the bus. Stick me down for a seat if it's going. Andy - Give me a shout when you're heading up for tickets. No got mine sorted yet.

    In's And Out's

Was he the boy that was at Millwall a few years back? Under McGhee perhaps? Decent shout IMO. Though i'm sure I read on SSN that some League 2 side are after him. May sound silly, but can we compete with the wages of a League 2 team?? IIRC, didn't Craig Easton turn us down a few seasons ago to go to Leyon Orient?

Is it not only done like that because Hibs sponsers are in alcohol (whyte & mckay) ?? I know Celtic were selling their tops last year without the sponsor. As far the 'Well top, I am a big fan, would have loved it with claret shorts though
