  1. It's served it's purpose then since I probably wouldn't have known but for this thread.
  2. Why's their so much optimism about our young players? Most people on here have hardly seen most of these guys kick a ball yet you're talking about them like they're the next Ryan Gauld. For every youth players who makes it there will be 9 who don't and we can't be relying on playing 3/4 of these guys regularly if we want to be anywhere near the top.
  3. I don't see the big deal with this.Happens all the time, managers leave and take their staff so why would this be any different.
  4. Depends how you define bigger I suppose but Utd have been to the later rounds in Europe and won trophies, don't remember Sheff Utd doing that.I'd say Aberdeen and Dundee Utd are a similar size to Leeds. We're comparable with Blackpool, Bournemouth or somebody like that.
  5. Wee vid from last year.
  6. Yes they have bigger crowds and budgets but I wouldn't say any of those teams are bigger than Dundee Utd, the OF or Aberdeen and the top 5/6 in Scotland would all get promoted or at least be around the playoffs in that division.
  7. League 1 in England is a higher level than the Spl?
  8. Maybe doesn't come into it too much for this game but I really don't see why we change our game in Europe to a more cautious, possession type style against better teams.Fair enough we can't leave big spaces for them but Scottish/British teams have success in Europe by playing our own way not by trying to play their way.Just get the ball out wide and get crosses in, most of these teams are pish at defending balls into the box.Press them high up the park, any team can play when we sit back and give them space but if we put them under pressure some of these 'good' teams would be found out.
  9. The Bangor result doesn't matter, nearly everybody expected them to win over those 2 legs anyway and lets be honest, Scottish league 1 is probably better than the Welsh league. We should be better than an Icelandic team, simple as that.
  10. We'll see what sort of standard we can expect on Tuesday, would like to think we're better than them but we won't know til about 8/8:10 on Thursday.
  11. If we were struggling in the bottom 6 most people on here would want rid of McCall long before we got to a cup final.
  12. Maybe he was fed up with you sitting about doing fa.
  13. Hopefully we don't get to see any.
  14. I don't think you can ever really plan for cup success or judge a season on how you did in the cups.Fact is we could get Celtic away in both cups and out we go.The luck of the draw comes into it as well as what sort of form us or whoever we're playing are in.The thing that annoyed me most about Albion and some of our recent exits is the lack of desire, the cups are a chance to actually bring a bit of excitement to the season but for some reason we just haven't looked up for it.That's all you can look for really is for the players to at least put the effort in and play it as if it's a big game like we did against Utd and St Johnstone when we got to the final.
  15. The Polish team would probably bring a decent support to our home game.In terms of getting through there's a couple of dodgy ones but RNK Split would be the one to avoid for me.
  16. Is there a list of spl friendlies up anywhere? Usually got a few up by now but can't find them.
  17. Not sure about that.We didn't beat Hibs easily in any of the games and if we lost 2/3 of our better players and didn't replace them with anyone decent then we'd be near the bottom. If we lost even a quarter or a third of our budget we'd drop well down the league.
  18. Investing in a football team just isn't attractive to anybody, it's not going to make money over the long term so unless a Well fan wins the euro millions I don't see us getting another major investor.I don't see it being admin again but if we don't reach the targets then we'll be struggling to avoid relegation within 5 years and if we do go down we could find ourselves in a similar position to Dunfermline.
  19. I'd think that's highly likely but i'm pretty sure we'll be seeded, possibly for the first 2 rounds meaning we'll get somebody of the calibre of that Albanian side we pumped 8-2.
  20. I actually enjoy Celtic/Rangers (more Celtic recently) home games to any other fixture and was in the pod as a patg fan on Saturday. The main reasons the atts in the home end drop by a few hundred are it's on tv, more expensive and we usually get pumped. It's always happened at most SPL teams, nothing new.
  21. What happens if Rangers win the cup?
  22. I agree with most of what he said, Hutchison is over rated.Just look at our defensive record this season, not all down to him but there's plenty of better centre backs about.
  23. The back bits I can understand but not the seat bit and I can honestly say I've never broke a seat at a game while celebrating.
  24. Most people manage not to break seats when their team scores, even jumping on a seat probably wouldn't break it.You would need to kick it a few times just to get the plastic bit off.
  25. Bringing charges is ott in my opinion.A few idiots broke some seats and Celtic pay for it anyway, if anything Motherwell will be happy it happened as it takes the attention away from last week at ndp and as for the atmosphere outside, what have you never seen people pishing on a wall or shouting abuse at somebody.
