Part of the problem we are in just now is because we have neglected youth and extended contracts to over the hill experienced players. It's hard to accept having lasley and Mcmanus next season in the championship, never mind throwing a completely done McFadden in to the squad as well.
I agree to an extend but you need to have some experienced players to help the young lads develop. I think you would be surprised by the level of positive impact on our up and coming players having someone like McFadden around.

If we drop a division and he can prove his fitness then think he would be a useful addition, assuming financially it isnt going to cost us too much.

I'm buzzing for Sunday! I just hope that we perform to our best on Thursday so the tie on Sunday is meaningful. Going to be a cracking atmosphere and will be nothing better than keeping them down.
For weeks I have been convinced we are going down but the closer I get to the match the more I think we might just pull this off.

Anyone waiting til after the first leg to get tickets? Would be surprised if they're sold out by Friday given the strong possibility that we'll be 2 or 3 behind after the first game.
Sell out? There will be thousands of empty seats!!!
-
The same mob that signed Tony Straker? They've obviously got a good sense of humour.
Was it not you that described Straker as a certain FPC player in a morph suit?

Looks like York City are keen on George Long.
-
Giving it some thought we should go with:
Long
Ramsden Laing (if fit) McManus Hammell
Ainsworth Grant Lasley Pearson Johnson
McDonald
Would allow the 2 wingers to go and support McDonald. Would allow Grant to be in his rightful position too. I can see keeping it under 2 with that team in the first leg....

Unfortunately, that ship sailed the first time we let a TV company shift a kick-off time. All they care about is spectators at home or in the pub.
Without a doubt TV has impacted the number of people who actually go to the games. Which is another reason why we shouldnt be looking to lower the attendance further.
I hate Sevco as much as the next man but it would be unreasonable to shut out people wanting to watch their team when their are thousands of empty seats.
Correct decision by the club.

We're going to get pumped!

James Keatings told by Hearts he is free to leave even although he has a year left on his contract. The sort of player we should be looking at?
If we are in the 1st division then would be worth looking at. He is a local lad (Wishaw).

How many pints of beer of packets of fags can you buy for a season ticket - genuinely don't know? Cost of tickets for concerts?
Problem is, you really need plenty of beer (and nicotine!) in your body to watch Motherwell at the minute!

Yes its a spectator sport mitch but by my counting there was 9000 odd empty seats at ibrox last night.didnt stop them! It is also play to win and we need every help we can. All on here that say we should give them what they want are off their heads! We need big marketing push from club to get all who have bought tickets in past come again . remember odense, nancy even dundee utd on a sunday night on sky ffs we can fill it if pricing correct!
If we could have 12,000 'Well fans in the stadium then my opinion would be different. There is not a chance in hell we could get close to that number. Give them the South Stand and hope we can do enough to sell out the rest.
-
My view isn't going to be popular but how would we as 'Well fans feel if we were playing such a massive match away from home, were given no where near enough tickets for our support and the home club had 6000 empty seats in their end that could have been used?
It's a spectator sport.

I think the comments on Twitter were more around the question of Season Ticket prices. I believe (I obviously wasnt there) that he said something along the lines of not being willing to pay the same prices in the 1st Division and the response was short and direct by telling him not to bother buying a season ticket.
I do like a direct approach but the above is not really the type of response you would expect.

According to some Twitter comments, it doesn't seem that Les is impressing too many people.
Maybe the direct approach isn't the best for every situation!

Rumours were around at the weekend that he told a young guy to fuck off when asked for his autograph.

Baraclough is known to have used motivational speakers since his arrival at Fir Park, so a psychologist might be the next step in his mind.
To my mind though, we play far too open away from home...thinking about the Accies game at NDP a couple of months ago, an ageing Lasley and Pearson were our midfield 2, against 3 Hamilton youngsters and hardly got a kick, if it were me I'd have played Grant in beside them. For me, its horses for courses and that is my biggest gripe with Baraclough, that he sticks far too rigidly to his 4-4-2 and the players that he plays in it.
If he goes to Ibrox or ER with anything other than 3-men in the middle we'll get picked off at some point. If we are to have any chance of winning the play-off we have to come away from the 1st leg at least even.
Pretty much spot on. We need to make ourselves hard to beat away from home, especially in a 2 legged play off. We take a beating at home then the tie will almost certainly be over. 4-5-1 with Ainsworth and Johnson going forward to support Erwin (assuming McDonald is suspended).

Twardzik must have improved significently since he was dropped in January. He is murder. Long isnt much better but not as bad as Twardzik.

I got the impression from lots of fans round about us that Saturday was the final straw for most. When he relegates us, his position will be absolutely untenable and as such Hutchinson will be left with a sink or swim decision. I have much graver concerns about the potential mess the Well Society could have got us in here if Hutchinson decides to call in his ever increasing loans.
Ideal scenario is bring in the experienced head for the last 3 games, offer him as big a bonus as we can muster to keep us up and then spend the summer looking for a new management team.
As much as I agree with what you say, I reckon we have left it too late to change things. We should have done this weeks ago and had the old head in to make us hard to beat.
Out of interest, did you have anyone in mind?

Aberdeen have released Declan McManus. Might be interesting to see what level of football he is playing next season.
I suspect that he will end up joining Morton in the Championship. He done really well for them on loan this season and suspect that will have been lined up before he agreed his release from Aberdeen.
-
Not that he was likely to extend his stay but Scott McDonald is being linked to Wigan by The Express.
-
If there's plenty of seats then it's not a problem, if seats aren't readily available then they should be getting moved by stewards if needed.I bought one of the 3 game package tickets a couple of weeks back and didn't have any problem with the guy sitting in my seat but if there's a big crowd for the Partick game then something will be said if he's still there.
Would that be politely ask him to move?
Unlikely we will sell out the full section on Saturday.

Is this a recent interview?
Was in the Evening Times I think. I seen it on newsnow.co.uk
-
Baraclough mentioned in his interview that the club are not far away from agreeing a new contract with Erwin. Very good news as he will be key next season, no matter what league we are playing in!
