  1. Gary Stevens (of Tottenham fame) was his no2 at Sligo.
  2. Quite liked that interview tbh. Good start.
  3. Was literally just typing this. The guy would appear to have a good knowledge of players in the lower leagues, which Gannon fully utilised. Wasnt at the interview so dont know about his footballing philosophy etc. We have a recent record of revitalising Managers' careers - Lets hope its the same here. Fully behind the guy and good luck to him. Not bothered in the slightest if I have heard of him before and tbh probably prefer that over a vanity appointment. Everyone has to start somewhere.
  4. The press will name everyone imaginable as favourite, so they can then say "as we revealed' when the manager is announced. I remember when Brown got the job, the record/sun ran with Iain McCall to be named in 24hrs He wasnt even interviewed.
  5. Unless Im reading it incorrectly, I think Hutchinson is holding the shares and the Well Society have 5yrs to accumulate funds?
  6. Yeah, Lawson was v good and we seemed to lose a bit in midfield when he went off. 2nd half we shat it though and sat off them.
  7. Working today. Its an IT project though so may have a window of a few hours while scripts going in etc hopefully get to game and back. I far prefer cup games tbh.
  8. Did Killie not have calderwood for a few months in order to keep them up a few years ago?
  9. Yep and Le Guen and Deila . Becoming an athlete appears to be largely frowned upon, although McGhee had us fairly fit. "They dont understand our culture" etc. Its the culture which is holding us back.
  10. He does appear to have a decent cv to be fair, but Im not sure I could take it seriously. The aforementioned incident where he assaulted O'Neil's elbow is one of the standout memories of Fir Park when I was young, (Alongside the Scottish Cup, Katowice, a Richard Gough (I think) OG and the Liverpool centenary game. Anyway...
  11. Perversely, looking forward to Friday alot more now. The last few days have added a bit of excitement. No idea which way the game will go, although I would have feared a pumping this time last week.
  12. This is what Im struggling with. Why are we sitting with a negative position (to all intents and purposes)? I can only come up with: Misc overheads - the pitch upgrade was a while ago though - not aware of other large remedial work etc? Player salaries - Finishing 2nd is, at the end of the day, negated, if we are spending over the odds finishing there in the first place, then not taking advantage of it (progressing in Europe/cups and banking cash). Seems to have been a very short-term view of things being taken. The Well Society, for all its merits, was never really a viable long-term option in terms of running the club. We simply dont have the fanbase to support it ad-infinitum. I thought it was about having cash reserves to be called on, if need be, in the future (over and above the day-to-day balance sheet management), which is a non-starter if we were in a loss-making position at the outset. Was the Well Society actually just about funding a short-term working capital gap?
  13. How much have we been paying out in wages if we have had: SC Final + 3rd 2nd 2nd Plus the odd European game Plus (small) tranfer fees (Ojamaa, Anier, Murphy) But still facing a 1m accumulated shortfall? And thats after successive budget cuts? Am I missing something?
  14. Einstein's definition of madness (or insanity for the pedants)
  15. The funny thing about the SPFL is that Queens Park, famously, aren't professional.
  16. Was going to say this as well. We were flying out of the traps, taking a few goal leads, then seeing it out.
  17. Would agree with this. That was an absolutely spineless performance.
  18. Yep, second to every ball and kept backing off. Complete lack of urgency. Should have been closing down, pressing and taking the game by the scruff of the neck. A 3rd goal (3-1 win) would have likely seen us through, but we were far too tame.
  19. Haha, was that the one where there was a glitch and it became free after ko time?
  20. Clean sheet, doesn't matter how you do it.
  21. Hilarious. Made even funnier by rhe Aberdeen reaction. Think they are forgetting Anderson's goal. McCall masterclass.
