Terry Butcher had staunch Ibrox loyalties - until he became our manager. Maybe, if McCall does get the job, he'll get to see what it's like to be on the receiving end of all the shite other teams have had to endure over the years and it'll wake him up.

Can't imagine it'd be the most popular appointment............
-
They've got previous. Remember they said Chisholm and Dodds were to take over?
-
ESPN had some rugby or something displayed as being on when our game was live on Sunday. Don't know how often the listings are updated but they certainly didn't reflect live TV at the weekend.
-
The Express and Star is a Midlands newspaper. Why would they know before anyone else?

We cannot afford an untried man at the helm. Made that mistake big-time in the past, cannot afford to do it again under any circumstances.
-
Anone seen Sam Allardyce around Fir Park then?
-
Given the way we've been losing goals it'd be a positive move for us.

You know, bar a vital block soon after the restart, it coud have been 7-6 to Motherwell..

Got to be the Juke equaliser against Hibs. Folk around me were greetin with joy. It's that sort of thing that, during these darker times, makes it all worthwhile.

We are not going to get gubbed. Might well lose, but no 10-0. That's just daft.
-
If we've a new man in charge before then, that might make all the difference. Players will know they must make an impression for the new man, happens every time.

Pretty sure Central are running one, leaves from the Bentley (Jim Frame runs the bus).
-
Indeed you would. Can't wait fo rthe full story to come out regarding our new man when he is in place, could be so far removed from the way the press are reporting things. Usually is!

I'd be interested to know how he knows McDonald has said know (if he has), but doesn't know the name of the foreign candidate.

It's the same everywhere. Once at their "home" I was told to sit down by one of Strathclyde's finest. When asked why they did nothing about the Rangers support, he simply replied that there was more of them.

It was somewhat amusing listening to the visiting "fans" and some of their "songs". Was a good 8 minutes into the game before they seemed to remember which team they were there to see when a "song" including the word Rangers was belted out. Of course, it was twisted to include their favourite topic of being completely and utterly bigoted. The fervour with which it was chanted, and the looks on the faces of those singing with all their might, really is a sad, sad sight to see. Especially those of a more mature age. Such bitterness is such a disgusting sight.

I smell shite. How on Earth does he know before anyone who has real contact with the club?

D'ya know, I mind we went to Parkhead on the back of a six-game losing run. Hadn't won for 10 games. Up against a much better Celtic team than this one. And we won 2-0. Teams that day were.... Celtic: Gould, Boyd, Hannah (Wieghorst, 59 ) , McNamara, Rieper, Stubbs, Larsson, Burley, Donnelly (Thom, 71 ) , Lambert (Annoni, 79 ) , Blinker (sent off 34) Motherwell: Woods, Christie, McMillan, Philliben, Craigan, Ross, Hendry ( Weir, 82 ) , Valakari, McCulloch ( Arnott, 55 ) , McSkimming, Coyle

Sam Allardyce’s former assistant at Bolton and Blackburn Rovers is in the running to take over as Motherwell boss. Neil McDonald watched the Fir Park club’s 4-1 defeat by SPL champions Rangers yesterday and is believed to be favourite to take over. McDonald has a wealth of coaching experience in England and further afield, and his contacts down south are believed to have impressed Well chiefs. The Englishman has edged ahead of John Hughes, Stuart McCall and Chris Sutton in the running to take over at the Lanarkshire club and could be in place for the Celtic game at Parkhead on Wednesday night. Senior officials at Fir Park are continuing to interview candidates for the vacant post after former Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia turned them down. Vice-chairman Derek Weir said: “We’re trying to get someone in as soon as possible. The snow and holidays has slowed us down a bit. “We set ourselves a target for having someone in before today, but haven’t managed that. “But, if everything works out well, we’ll have someone in place for the next game, which is on Wednesday. It’s the first time I’ve worked part of Christmas Day to try and get something done. “There are three things we are looking for. We want someone who is well-known in the lower leagues of England because that has worked well for us in the past in terms of finding players we can afford. “People who have a network in terms of bringing in loan signings, which again has worked well for us. “And then people with experience, either in the Scottish or English game. There are a lot of people out there who have all of that, now we have to narrow it down.” Caretaker boss Gordon Young is also hoping his Fir Park players have a new gaffer in place for their SPL clash with Celtic. Young believes the delay in appointing a successor to Craig Brown has proved unsettling for the team thrashed at home by rampant Rangers yesterday. He said: “The club has been very thorough during the period they have been without a manager. “They were speaking to more candidates yesterday. I know they are not rushing in. They are taking their time to get it right. “But I do feel sorry for the players. They have done particularly well all season and there is no reason why they can’t bounce back from the defeats we’ve suffered. “The minute they get somebody else in I am sure they will perform to the high standards they have been all season. “It’s been unsettling for the players. In life, people like to be reassured. Football is no different.”

I voted for Bob McHugh. Simply because his attitude when he came on put one or two others to shame in my opinion. Was eager, hungry, and full of desire to do well. That's what we needed from everyone.

I do. Exactly one year ago.

Didn't Hateley have to go off ill? Did well considering to be honest.

Needless to say but that was somewhat crap. Defensively dire, left so much space out wide at times it was ridiculous. When we ran at them we could get through, just didn't believe enough.
