  1. As I understand it, this is how it should pan out.... Rangers 33 - 17 home 16 away - split - 2h3a Celtic 33 - 16 home 17 away - split - 3h2a Dundee United 16 home 17 away - split - 3h2a Hibs 17 home 16 away - split - 2h3a Motherwell 16 home 17 away - split - 3h2a Hearts 16 home 17 away - split - 3h2a Saint Johnstone 16 home 17 away - split - 3h2a Aberdeen 17 home 16 away - split - 2h3a Hamilton 17 home 16 away - split - 2h3a Saint Mirren 17 home 16 away - split - 2h3a Kilmarnock 17 home 16 away - split - 2h3a Falkirk 16 home 17 away - split - 3h2a To have it all fit nicely, i.e. each team to be 19 home and away, Aberdeen would be the best option for the top six.

    Brown Must Go

No Manager of the Month this time round I think, but he thoroughly deserves praise for things up to now. Bad day today, that's football. Important thing is making this what it was, a blip. Get back on track next Saturday, that's vital.
  3. Reading all the reports it sounds like we were just up against a very stubborn, well-organised United defence who took advantage of us puching up the park for the tird goal, and also a mistake from Ruddy. Looking forward to hearing what those who were at the game think, but it sounds like we attacked much more but were clearly less clinical than United. The stats, 4 shots at goal for the home side compared to our 8, seem to back that up.
  4. It's gotta be Celtic v United in the final. The push for Europe is nowhere near over. 7 games to go, we've all got to face the Old Firm and each other. So much can change, no need for depression.
  5. That's not a bad idea. Someone should just walk up and tell the Ref he's a tosser for putting us in shit again. That'd soon even things up!
  6. More importantly now we must win next week-end to keep in the hunt. Preferrably a draw midweek, next weekend Hibs host Celtic and Dundee United go to Saint Johnstone. Could all turn around again in an instant, it's football.
  7. Shit happens. Was always going to be a sickener when we lost the unbeaten run, the circumstances of today don't make it any easier.
  8. I recall once up there not so long ago I had my own personal Police escort the entire 90 minutes to ensure I didn't take any more pics!
  9. I thought like that before the Saint Johnstone game away. Felt we'd struggle there as they were just on the back of humping Hibs. Just feel that United have put so much into Wednesday night, they won't have enough left for another one tomorrow, especially if we are right up for it. Which we will be.
  10. Remember that well. Suddenly, Parkhead went from about 5000 for a midweek game against Raith Rovers to 36000 when we were there. Fergus walked right along the ash in front of us and got absolute pelters for it. And Doogsters goal, really was a great day.
  11. Aye, Freddie's nightmare! A rather obscure way to end what had been a truly miserable run of results on Tayside since a Pettigrew-inspired 4-1 in 1976. From 17th January, 1976 we went 31 games without a win before that game.
  12. And top scorer Smith makes it two. Good recovery from that unlucky defeat during the week. Edit - Full time Falkirk U19 0 Motherwell U19 2
  13. Lawless has just put the Under 19s ahead 4 minutes into the second half.
  14. Needs to lift her head or there be black eyes a plenty.........
  15. Just had a Shellic fan try to tell me Craig Brown has just gone to Celtic. Where's that pic of bullsh*t again.......
  16. Ahh, love it! Incidentally, who is the avatar?
  17. They've taken a couple of important injuries tonight, Kovacevic and Gomis both looking out for Saturday. Tonight will have taken it's toll mentally and physically on them, even though they won.

Pile of shite Read the above excuse-laden reason for our win.....
  19. That closes this one then.... Crewe Alex: Prolific frontman Jordan Connerton ready for step up Mar 24 2010 by Peter Morse, Crewe Chronicle JORDAN Connerton hopes to be the next Luke Varney, writes Jamie Oliver. The 20-year-old striker signed a three-year deal at the Alexandra Stadium on Friday and already has his sights set on a big move up the leagues. The Lancaster City youngster has been training with the Railwaymen on the recommendation of chief scout Neil Baker – the same man who spotted Varney at minnows Quorn FC. Now Connerton hopes to be the next success story to make his name at Crewe. He said: “I’m delighted to be here and to be given the opportunity. “I’ve loved my time on trial here and they are a great bunch of lads. “The club has a great reputation for bringing non-league lads in and selling them on for big money. I want to be next on that list.” It’d be difficult to bet against Connerton achieving his aim – his goalscoring tally of 35 and counting this season is no mean feat by any standards. But he thought his chance at the big time had gone after a deal with Scottish Premier League side Motherwell fell through. He explained: “I’ve waited for a few years now to be given a break. I broke my ankle a while back and that halted my progress. “I was supposed to be signing for Motherwell but it didn’t happen. “I thought it might never happen for me but I just kept plugging away and scoring. “I’m determined to work hard and get some goals to help Crewe get promotion next year. “Not many players like me get offered three years but it shows the faith they have in me. “I’ve now got to work hard and repay them.” Connerton will continue training at Reaseheath while finishing the season on loan at UniBond North leaders Lancaster, where he hopes to gain promotion. He said: “It’s tight and we’re a point ahead of second place. I really want to get them promoted being my hometown club.” Manager Dario Gradi said Connerton is different to any of the strikers already at the club. He added: “The fairest thing for him is to give him time. “Varney took over two years to come through but it was money well spent. If he does as well as Varney, we’ll be delighted.”
  20. Was just thinking, Hibs are now just one win in 9 games (including two cup ties). Dundee United last three games after they play us are away to Hibs and Saint Johnstone, and home to Rangers. Hibs are home to Dundee United and Celtic, away to Hamilton. And we are home to Falkikr, away to Celtic. Really is going to be tight come the split.
  21. Normally I'd say yes, but I have a feeling it's set up to see Mowbray's last stand a humiliating cup final defeat from their greatest rivals.
  22. If you think of the state the club was in on Boxing Day after losing so miserably to Saint Johnstone, this is fantastic. It's a major achievement, and shouldn't be underestimated.

    John Ruddy

Dorius De Vries has just conceded his fifth of the night as Swansea are absolutely gubbed at Forest. Hoping Ruddy adds another clean sheet on Saturday, think it'll be very close at the top if he does.

  25. Can't forget the cup tie in 93-94 when we were shoe-horned into that wee terracing bit in front of the "main stand". That'll be the bit which starts below pitch level. Magic atosphere, and brilliant wild celebrations at Softie' s late laveller.
