  1. Oh aye, has to be my most favourite celebration of any goal we've scored. We were crammed into that bit in front of the corner stand, which they don't use now, and it was so packed farts couldn't escape until you actually left the ground. Unbelieveable celebrations. What reply...blanked it out so I did! Foran's late, late penalty winner up at Invershneckie sparked wild celebrations amongst the few of us who were there as well.
  2. Shivers......Last heard of warming the bench at .... Pollock. 3 goals in 36 appearances for us. Said it all.

Very sad to hear this. Tragic news.
  4. Cheers for the updates Yir! Wasn't easy waiting for texts when you are over a thousand miles from home, though I did attract a few quizzical looks dancing around at the equaliser....

Love that new away strip. Personally, I'd have preferred the pin stripes to have been vertical (as with what I seem to recall a lot of folk rate as their favourite away Motherwell strip) but it's a winner all the same.
  6. That's sad to hear. Very first ever Motherwell game I watched he had a penalty saved by an unusually superb Alan Rough save as Thistle stole a 1-0 League Cup win at Fir Park. Terrific player.
  7. If we won the case against Spencer, why do we have to pay legal costs? I alwys thought if you won a case then costs are awarded against the side which loses?
  8. That's quite a seal of approval of our team and fans. Well done to everyone I'd say!
  9. Yep! Anders Frisk has to have been the worst of them all. Charles Aguis, the Maltese bloke who did the first leg in Dortmund, had a tremendous game and perhaps was the exception to the rule. But Frisk, who was run close by this clown tonight, has no rival thus far........IMHO of course!
  10. Just imagine. We get the penalty, we are two-nil up. Then a third. And it wouldn't have been impossible with a different Referee tonight. That would've been equal, and not beyond the question. Anyway, I fancy we'll take the SPL by storm this season.
  11. Not saying your'e not fair mate, just think that if we'd got all the decisions tonight you probably wouldn't be happy. Had the Ref given decisions as they should've been made, we'd have won tonight and went close to qualifying. We could and perhaps should have levelled the tie before you got going based on chances and decisions, but hey, that's football sometimes. We'll bounce back. Certainly hope you go far in the competition!
  12. Pretty sure that, had it been the other way, Steua fans would have been demanding the head of the Ref for not giving them a Pen. He was a shitbag tonight.
  13. Why then apply that rule and not the three for us?!?!
  14. Aye, we deserved to win tonight. Still, it's been a very good performance against a very good side which would coast the SPL. I think this bodes well for the season ahead. We've a huge amount to be positive about, and, with new signings imminent, going to be well-positioned to be top six I think minimum. If JG has anything to do about it, we'll be doing this again in twelve months.
  15. Sheridan Won't be a return here for Sheridan so it looks........
  16. I sat at the Press Conference and admit to being shit-scared for the future of our club. However, it quickly became clear that John Boyle, by waiving his claim to his stake of the money owed, saved the club. Aye, his attempts to get us the third force had some way of putting us in the shit, but to be fair, he did his big big-time to get the club back on a level footing. And he did.
  17. BBC says this.... Motherwell v Steaua B'arest (0-3) Motherwell boss Jim Gannon has injury concerns over Chris Humphrey and Keith Lasley ahead of Thursday's Europa League match against Steaua Bucharest. Both players are rated doubtful, as Humphrey has a hamstring problem while Lasley picked up a knock in training. Youngster Mark Archdeacon also has an injury and is unlikely to play feature at Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium. The Steelmen are aiming overcome a 3-0 deficit from the third qualifying round first leg in Romania last week. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Motherwell (from): Ruddy, Saunders, Hammell, Hutchinson, Reynolds, Craigan, Forbes, O'Brien, Slane, McGarry, Sutton, Kosiorowski, Jennings, Murphy, Page, McHugh, Fitzpatrick, Fraser, Coke, Humphrey, Lasley.
  18. Didn't know about this one! Must've been a very young side, who's Tom Hately?!?!.... Lancaster City 3 Motherwell 2 In yet another promising glimpse into the coming season Lancaster City beat Scottish Premier League side Motherwell at Giant Axe. Goals from the excellent Mike Rushton, a neat finish from Andrew Teague and Roger Sharrocks meant that the Dolly Blues remain unbeaten in what has been a good pre-season. This was a young Motherwell side, yet a talented one and at times they played City off the park. However the Dolly Blues harried and harassed them in a good workout. Rushton has looked very sharp in pre-season, again he murdered his marker time and again, and he finished with aplomb after Jordan Connerton had set him free. Motherwell will take on Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic in their new season and they deservedly drew level through former Rangers star Mark Hately's son Tom. However it was City who Motherwell had to deal with last nght and while it is oft repeated that results in pre-season do not matter getting in good nick does, something Teague has managed, his goal will further boost his confidence. When Sharrocks gambled at the near post to finish off Mike Jarvis' cross he put the cherry on City's move of the match. Jarvis, Sharrocks and Rushton will hope to hold on to this good form as they step into Lee Dodgson's prolific boots. Steve Meaden finally made the visitor's pressure tell on 86 minutes when he neatly finished, if they had converted pressure into goals throughout then they would have run out as comfortable winners. City now take on a Preston XI on Saturday, they won't be worried about their unbeaten run, but they will be hoping that they can stay fit and sharp as the season proper creeps ever nearer.

    Indeed. The greater good.

Doogie Arnott double that night. Loads of folk on the park as we all went absolutely mental. And all due to the tenacity that Mowglie showed. He'll be greatly missed.
  21. Motherwell 4 (Sutton 3, Ruddy last-minute penalty in extra-time) Bucharest 0. You gotta dream.....
  22. I thought I'd seen they were free. I've seen them on sale on E-Bay for around £6.

I recall also taking a good one of the late, great Jamie Dolan running towards the camera, I'll have to find it and post it up. Just summed up Jamie that pic, 110% no matter the match.
  24. You might need to remortgate with an offer like that! Hope to see you in the Cooper either pre or post-match after we continue our 100% start to the season!
