Good positive stuff mate, we're far from out of the Top Six race, but we have to look below us too at this juncture.
-
Will be round later to leave a small tribute, been thinking about the events of December 29th 2007 a lot today, still seems unreal. RIP Uncle Phil, always in our thoughts.

Not sure how they'll handle segregation in that stand, seeing as there's only on set of turnstyles. Also, not sure if there are toilets and a snack bar at both ends, otherwise we'll get the thin end of the wedge as far as facilities go I'm sure.

Aye it seems that way! But he did play very well and could've scored more. Well done Ports!

A terrific performance and one befitting of a more handsome scoreline than 3-2. The fitba was superb at times and Caley were hardly in the match. Many of our players gave their best performances of the season in my view, with Ports obviously taking centre stage. However, guys like Clarky, Shug, Maros and O'Brien were excellent too. The Uncle Phil tribute on 78 mins was awesome, very emotional and indeed fitting. Glad I suggested it! A great 3 points, now on to Love Street for the final time for another 3!

Got mine too! Interestingly, 'Steelmen' listed the match as a sell-out in the match info section! Not sure if all tickets are gone, but they probably are.

The claret hoop all the way round the home jersey! Fatcalf will love that!!

It seemed that Ports move to Forest was all but a done deal, but the removal of Calderwood might change that. That said, if he does go in January it will give McGhee a channce to boost the whole squad, but time will tell.

A very merry christmas from me and Sharon to Well fans the world over!
-
Its happening in England too. Its simply because January 31st is a Saturday and its more convenient to have the deadline on a business day.
-
It has been announced that the transfer window in Scotland has been extended until 5pm on Monday February 2nd.

We do need to get behind the team more than ever now. It was easy to do that last season when we were playing well, but this is when supporters show their true worth. As for the Well Boys, keep it up lads! The colour and atmos you create is superb, if anything you need to sing even more!

I think its time to try both Smith and O'Brien from the start. They made an impact up there when we were 1-0 down and surely they'll be desperate to impress. Coming off the bench can be tough, and it'd be interesting to see how they both fare. Presuming both Shug and Clarky are fit this would be my team: Smith Quinn Klimpl Reynolds Hammell D Smith Lasley Hughes O'Brien Clarkson Porter With a bench boasting, Nielsen, Craigan, Malcolm, Fitzpatrick, McGarry, Murphy and Sutton we have plenty in reserve. It may seem harsh to drop young Saunders, but as I said in the build up to the Accies game, too much involvement now could be harmful long term.

I am currently hanging my head in shame!

The simple fact is that the club cannot afford to sack MMG due to his hefty contract, we will have to hope he can lead a revival and (for a change) make significant moves in the transfer window, that is vital.

Whatever your opinion on certain players or the manager, its not a nice situation to be in. Joint bottom is unacceptable for us given how pish Killie, Accies, Falkirk, Inverness and St Mirren are, but the worrying aspect for me is that most of those are better prepared to deal with a relegation dogfight, we aren't. On today's game, we made enough chances to at least draw, as we did against Killie. Accies didn't play well enough to merit the win, neither did Kilie. However, with us being profligate in front of goal and slack at the back, any team will cause us problems at this time. We are still playing too much long ball stuff, cos we don't have the type of midfield (when we play one!) to make that tactic successful, yet when we have played it on the deck we continue to make chances. It can't be that difficult to work out how we should approach things is it?!! The team for the Inverness game??? Anyone's guess!! Still, no matter how tough it is, we need to support the team as much as possible now. It is easier to criticise right now, but with confidence being so low it won't help to hurl abuse at the team. Time for EVERYONE to stand up and be counted.
-
Its not just that we're losing, but its the fact that it by 2 goals or more most of the time. Confidence seems at an all-time low and its hard to know what to do. Any team who concede cheap goals and miss chances are going to struggle, and right now that's us. It may take a slice of luck for things to turn in our favour, and I sincerely hope it happens soon.

A chat with Flow earlier this week got me thinking about that. We used to be fairly decent on Sky/BBC but in recent times things haven't been great when Motherwell featured on live TV. But how bad is it? Well it transpires that we have failed to win in the last 22 occasions we've been live on TV. Our last win was the CIS Cup Quarter Final against Aberdeen in November 2005, when Kerso scored early and Buzz saved a pen. Since then we've only mustered 5 draws and suffered 17 defeats on the telly, covering the whole of 2006, 2007 and 2008...up until now anyway. Our 23rd attempt to end that hoodoo comes on Saturday at Accies, so here's hoping we can put it to bed!

The club have announced that about 100 tickets will be available through the Supporters Association with the remaining 400 sold on a first come first served basis to season ticket holders. This seems the fairest way, although some will no doubt be unhappy. However with only 500 tickets for Well fans it was always going to be that way.

Motherwell 2 Livingston 1 Two goals from Bob McHugh put Gordon Young's lads into the quarter fional of the Youth Cup where they will face the holders Rangers at Fir Park on Sunday February 15th. A late Livi penalty made it a real cup tie, the last ten minutes was a bit harem scarem, but we hung on!
-
Couldn't have put it any better myself. 100% common sense, read this and take it in everyone.
-
I'd say to Shug to demand the ball more, work harder and come deeper to get it. To the rest of the team to work harder and provide more options to the ball carrier, allowing us to play the ball on the deck the way that suits us.
-
I completely agree, when will some folk realise that support helps and abuse can have a negative impact on the WHOLE TEAM!
-
I mind his goal too, it was in the First Division against Ayr at Fir Park in September 1984, a ripper of a back post volley at the south end. Anyone else recall that goal?
-
It is crunch time for us - 3 wins and we're in a fight for the top six, but 4 points or less and its a relegation fight. Fingers out time Well!!
