  1. Yet another quality read, (Cheers MJ), although I had thought Judas would have been on the end of a tad more abuse, and I have to ask Yir Elder wtf does "avuncular" mean ?
  2. Applause and respects to the Club on this. Would the Club be prepared to give a Presentation to the Meeting regarding Neil Doncaster's proposals ? I think we all want to know the essential details before we can say yeh or nay with assurance.
  3. Pretty much how I remember it too, and while I don't normally like to speak ill of the dead - it was a dark passage in our history when he was at the helm As for the Clyde cup-replay .... Nevin utterly destroyed us in that 2nd half.
  4. Maybe 200 miles away but that aint changed where my heart lies ....... just going thru a low motivation period of scunneredness with MFC, Stewart Milne and the SPL, and feeling sorry for myself ....... but I'll always be a 'Well fan.
  5. My father used to rave about them, however Ancell had departed by the time I first ventured into Fir Park. Howitt was in charge and regular player Willie McCallum was the last of the Ancell Babes. Good to see some 'elder' 'Well fans on here thou
  6. Know what ? I'm so disillusioned with events in recent weeks that I don't really care any more ............... and I aint ever felt at such a low ebb before, (and that includes relegations, 8-0 6-0 defeats, cup-semi disappointments, etc.,). My faith is being eaten away and there's nowt I can do about it. Maybe things will sort themselves out, maybe they wont, and if John Sutton ends up at Ibrox then good luck to him.
  7. Should be a very varied and opinionated read this weekend.
  8. was thinking about that yesterday. Empty seats is the Loudest Voice the fans have in their armour. Uniting the fans will prove difficult though.
  9. How many of these Chairmen run Clubs which post an operating profit ? And yet they have the future of our game in their hands
  10. I do hope the Club and beyond are reading/taking notice of posts such as this one. The content is becoming increasingly common amongst modern day fans. We deserve better for less. As for the East Stand ? This is I believe a Top Priority issue for MFC before more empty seats and perhaps closure is forced upon them
  11. Time we switched our calendar cycles imho. Summer football and summer schooling, with our main holidays in Jan/Feb ......... then people could buggar off to warmer climes and school kids wouldn't have to go to/from school in semi darkness.
  12. Best of luck to him, although I think he deserves better than Sheff Wed (in their current state).
  13. Understand what you are saying, but these are densely populated areas of a multi-World Cup winning/hosting country. Scotland is a tiny backwater by comparison. Perhaps its time the non Mauld-Firm Clubs took a stance, and stood up to them for a fare share of the revenues. Lets face it, what can Rangers/Celtic do about it if we do ?
  14. Thankless task mate, with our proximity to Glasgow and the media profile of other Clubs, (many outwith Scotland). Motherwell have done more than most in recent years to attract new and floating fans:- reduced prices, free for kids, Ladies Day, to name but a few. I went to Knowetop Primary, and except for Gordon Dalziel, everyone supported Motherwell. At Dalziel High, I was aware of 2 Rangers and one Celtic supporter in my year. I bet those odds are way off the mark now.
  15. Bosman and the Taylor Report to blame then ?
  16. Agreed. Scottish football is on a downward spirral, and I fear the future is bleak but not because of John Boyle. Give me JB over any of the idiots at Pittodrie, Parkhead, Tynecastle or the likes anyday.
  17. Have no issues with Blackman at all. He came to us on a 6 month loan and made a sizeable contribution. His agent and manager brockered the deal with Judas and we have to accept it and move on.
  18. I witnessed his outstanding natural ability at training. At least he had the co-ordination to run properly ........ not much else mind. Anyway we're all different and will offer a variety of opinions on the same player. I don't rate Forbes, irrespective of how he performed tonight.
  19. I am, as is anyone else, entitled to criticise/praise any Motherwell player. I've been following Motherwell for over 40 years now and I reckon Gump Forbes is one of the worst I've seen in claret and amber. Pitch him in with Holm Kraska, Joe McLeod, Kevin Christie, Paul Wilson ...... he'd struggle to even shine in that midfield
  20. If scores in both games remain as they are ............ we'll be only 10pts off the bottom
  21. Worst player in a 'Well strip since Kevin Christie .......... probably related
  22. That'll be the Rollercoaster Ride Tamy
  23. Fantastic facilities at Ross County, even got their own Academy.
