  1. The club doesn't usually announce details of incoming or outgoing until deals are finalised and contracts signed. Regardless of whether he goes in Jan or stays until the end of the season, we certainly did well from signing TW and he's another example of a resurrected career we can point to when we are recruiting a replacement. I'm sure GA has plans in place regardless of the outcome.
  2. Regardless of the rights or wrongs, a combination of milder form of delta but orders of magnitude more transmissible means that more people are going to end up in hospital and/or die. Science over - now back to the rants.
  3. Aye, it's one thing Dundee managing to get a hold of Charlie Adam, as he was a boyhood fan looking to finish his career there. And even then, it took an individual to put their hands in their pocket to finance it. They might make an offer, of course, but if TW does want to stay in Scotland there are likely to be better offers from the usual suspects.
  4. And yet, when the world was shut down last year, they gave special permission for football to be played. Politicians in general aren't great football fans, but they have to be pretty dim even by their standards to have no appreciation of how popular it is amongst their voters.
  5. Livi (and Ross County) have shown more fight in their last few games, and will certainly be a tougher game than Saturday's. If we maintain our form, however, there's no reason we can't win this one by a couple.
  6. If he is looking for a move, he'd be better off waiting until the summer to see what his options are. Teams looking for goalscorers in January are usually struggling. Why not enjoy a few more months at Fir Park and then review the offers by the pool in July?
  7. Would love to see that - despite the flashbacks of Jimmy Bone taking the mick.
  8. As I said in the other thread, I didn't want Tommy Wright anywhere near our team. He has had zero experience taking on a squad in relegation trouble, zero experience in relegation play-offs and his brand of football was eye-bleedingly hard to watch. No hindsight required to see he wasn't not the man for the job. Unless Dundee have financial problems, I can't see them doing much with Charlie Adam other than a slap on the wrist and a statement about how disappointed they are with his behaviour. They would never have been promoted without him, and they don't look half as good when he doesn't play.
  9. I love a clean strike with no spin on the ball.
  10. That's the one reported on the BBC website as "launched a straight ball over the top" - making it sound like an aimless punt up the park.
  11. Aye, they haven't exactly re-invested their profits from their cup runs last season or the 2 million they pulled in selling Ali McCann and Jason Kerr in the summer.
  12. Not a big fan of all-claret tops. Look too much like Hearts shirts. Good choice for just the keeper, though.
  13. Bevis would edge that battle for me purely for his dribble into box in the first half.
  14. Cast your votes for Dean Cornelius here...
  15. And we don't say that very often in December.
  16. Another good result to move us further up the table.
  17. Big Bevis showing that defenders can't dive for pens as well as strikers.
  18. Tactical genius midfield selection from GA
  19. Given the line up in midfield, you'd have to think there are some injuries/illnesses we are dealing with.
  20. It's not if he hits the ground running, but most new signings take a few months to bed in. There might be a team willing to give it a punt, but they are more likely to be struggling for goals so less likely to be an attractive move. So now I've said that, expect an announcement from Hearts in the next couple of weeks.
  21. Any club that wants him can sign him on a pre-contract and get him for free in June.
  22. Devante Cole on the bench for Barnsley against Cedric Kipré's WBA this evening. Cedric unlucky to see a header come back off the post.
  23. Liam Kelly took a cut in wages to come to Fir Park because he wanted to play every week and he wanted to boost his chances of international football. Football is different from most jobs because in most jobs you don't need to be in the first team every week or winning trophies to get job satisfaction. Ask James Scott, Declan Gallagher or Jake Hastie if they are enjoying their football as much this season as when they were playing for us, regardless of their bank balance. That's what makes the choice of moving on a tougher one than in most jobs. Money might well win in the end, but the choices aren't as simple as they are for regular employment.
  24. It would have to be silly money to get him January. Especially, as you say, when a pre-contract and a free in the summer is available. Of course, if someone came in with James Scott type money we might be tempted.
