  1. I'm not deluding myself. Celtic are comfortably the best team in the league and will beat us 7 or 8 times out of 10. Just hoping this game is one of the other 2.
  2. I disagree. There will be more Celtic fans moaning when we win the Cup than are moaning about tonight.
  3. The only game that matters there is their home game against Anderlecht next month (where a draw will guarantee Europa League).
  4. Meaningless game for Celtic tonight. They are more concerned about the Cup Final. Will be a different proposition at Hampden. (Still funny to see them ship 7, right enough).
  5. I'm surprised in this day and age of the "mental game" and sports psychologists, that these kind of mind games work. But there's no doubt about it, that all this talk of being physical is affecting some opposition players and managers. It helps take the focus away from some of the other positive aspects of our game - and that's to our advantage.
  6. I'm pretty sure the gaffer wheeled him out to say things like that. He wants everybody to think the physical side of the game is the only tactic we have.
  7. One of our best pieces of business. Heneghan out for a tidy sum - and a better player in.
  8. I'm just glad not to be reading any "Celtic are a great team, so we'll have to play our best and hope to catch them on an off day" patter.
  9. My 1991 scarf is the one I bought in 1975 for the Airdrie semi-final. So its results are mixed.
  10. The fact that we haven't lined up against Celtic this season just makes the tactical battle even more interesting.
  11. Even if we don't get a sell-on, he's been one of the best signings we made in a long time. All thanks to the fact we changed our business model to allowing small transfer fees to be paid.
  12. Plummer plays centre of defence and left back, so maybe just there to provide cover for both positions.
  13. Aye, credit to the gaffer. Aberdeen won at Fir Park by adjusting to our tactics from the cup game - so well done for addressing that in this game.
  14. Realistically, if you'd told me we'd take 3 points from our next 3 league games while winning a trophy, I'd have said that is acceptable.
  15. Not just a great result, but sounds like a great performance.
  16. I hope Hastie's not a former player. He looked like one that might make the step up.
  17. Because he brings something to the team the manager thinks we need - and as manager, he knows more about the game than most fans.
  18. The result at Ross County seemed to hinge mostly on horrific defending. I agree, however, that teams will set out to nullify us. That's what I meant a few weeks ago when I said that we need to switch it up a bit, particularly in the use of Frear, Bigi, Tanner etc. who can add a bit more variation and guile to our play. .
  19. 1978 wasn't great, but it was still better than not qualifying. And we'll always have those few minutes after Archie's goal where we thought we might just do it.
  20. That's right. Then when he became a ref he quickly moved up the ranks to SFA Development Officer and then Head of Refereeing at FIFA. Used to enjoy giving fans of the OF serious stick (plus the odd dig at Accies) in his classroom.
  21. Maybe we should just not bother playing the game then. Alternatively, maybe just play how we want to play and not worry about the ref.
  22. I don't remember any cheating when he refereed our play-off game against the Rangers Franchisees.
  23. The terrible idea was what clubs had to do to continue to receive funding, and the way it excluded others. It's not a terrible idea to develop youngsters as much as possible - which is what we're doing here. Screwing over a key component to our survival as a club would not have made sense at any level. We can still keep pushing for change.
